Anthony Rendon is back on the IL with a left hamstring strain, the Angels announce. The Angels never really addressed their infield depth issues this offseason. Surprising for a team that said it wanted to complete. It’s left them in a precarious position.

  2. They have plenty of coverage in the infield. Guys just have to step up for the hot bat we are losing for a bit.

  3. I can hear the passive aggressiveness in this tweet all the way from Utah. Why are the Angels allowing this jabrony anywhere near the clubhouse; let alone being a “beat writer” if all of his “reports” come with backhanded digs? He is far from the shining example of professional journalism

  4. We picked up Sano and Adrianza and have Rengifo to be utility as well. Honestly asking, do we need more depth in our infield?

  5. We need Stefanic back ASAP. As soon as he’s back, he’s at second, and Rengifo handles 3rd. Also we could have Taylor ward over there. Get Jo some consistent time in the outfield.

  6. Sam Blum is probably doing cartwheels after hearing he’d be going on the IL. Rendon is such a good player when he’s healthy, but the amount of injuries he gets is insane.

Sam when given the opportunity to talk shit about the angels or Rendon. He’s a haters favorite hater

  8. I’d be curious to see what deepening depth actually means to people lol.

Because at some point you have to worry about fitting everyone on the roster. It’s great to have young optionable minor league guys that you can send up and down but teams aren’t just sitting on a wealth of mlb ready talent in AAA lol. Plus teams aren’t just giving up their mlb ready minor league depth unless you’re giving them something nice in return.

Like I’m not gonna say the angels have been perfect, but for a team that intends to develop it’s young talent, having people like Rengifo in a bench role and Drury in a quasi-bench role makes for good depth. Having our infield mix turn into Rengifo / Neto / Drury / Schanuel with people like Sano and Adrianza swapping around isn’t the worst for a team with 2 infielder injuries.

Plus regardless you have people like Kyren Paris and even Charles LeBlanc who aren’t amazing but they’re optionable and play a decent amount of things.

  9. Not surprising unfortunately.

He was ‘hot’ with the bat, but even then he was really only hitting singles without any power.

I bet he spends 2 months, minimum, on the IL
