Game wasn’t as close as the score indicates. Fuck the refs but we just straight up were not the better team today.
Refs are bullshit, but that level of play, for a good portion of the game, is number 1 bullshit.
pulling Vasy when they did was fine but doing a dump and chase with an empty net is ridiculous. It’s literally a free turnover
really tough to watch those 1st 15 mins of the 3rd. just didn’t have the horses to get thru fla defense down a goal
on the other hand vasy was great and if they want any chance of winning, he needs to be VASY

Sure it’s just a coincidence the most penalized team in the NHL took one penalty vs the number one PP in the league and then when the game was 3-1 there was an even up call. No game management there, nope
Same things to be said after the game as before. We need to be better on 5v5, the only goal for most of the game until EN came off a face off because we couldn’t get into their zone consistently, and this is especially true if the game is gonna be reffed like this one. Still, Vasy looks locked in and it was matinee on their ice. Also fuck Wes Mccauley
Look we didn’t play well. But that was the most pathetic display of officiating I have seen in my life. Ticky tacky calls on us while the Panthers can just bulldoze our defenseless players in the middle of the ice.

Kucherov, Point, Stamkos, Hedman you need to step up. We can hang but if these guys dont show up this series is over. Refs don’t help but at least some positivity heading into game 2

The boys looked slow, sloppy, and uninterested. Only 19 shots is not going to get it done. I never notice Jeannot is playing unless he has an occasional big hit or fights. We need him to actually do something out there
Not the worst effort but pretty close to it. Team needs to pick it up several notches next game. Outside of the last few minutes of the first, first few minutes of the second, and last few minutes of the third, we got absolutely worked. Out skated and out battled. Just wasn’t good enough. I don’t really care about the officiating either, we didn’t deserve to win this one. If we forced the issue and created chances, we probably would’ve gotten a few more calls.
Also if Fleury is healthy, Dumba and Perbix should be competing for the last spot in the lineup. Would like to see a traditional left side, and those two are the weak link. Our D as a whole was also way too tentative, both on the back end and at the offensive blue line. A step too slow on everything
Winnable series, but not playing like that
Thought the Panthers were better but Wes was the difference tonight. No evidence needed than the power play in garbage time leading to what would’ve been the tying goal if it came earlier.
Saw glimpses of good effort, I hope they can bring it back for game 2!! Dial the fuck in!

So they’re allowed to hold, clutch, grab, slash, trip, wrestle, and board whomever they please. But we get called for two ‘holds’ that aren’t even penalties in game 1 of the regular season? Both drawn by Tkachuk too, so strange!
Tarasenko throws a fucking flying elbow into kucherov’s face off the puck, Dumba gets molested by Lomberg every single shift, nothing. Then the coward Mccauly has the gall to call a penalty with 1 minute to go after they got the empty netter on us to make it 3-2 PP’s in favor of florida and make it look close. That was a joke of a game and we’re out in 4 if the rest are called anything like this.
I don’t think we played terrible, but I do think that Florida definitely played like they wanted it more. The officiating definitely had an effect on the game and it was not called even close to even.

They have a lot to discuss in the next 45 hours or it’s gonna be a short run.
Not the worst performance but Jon Cooper needs to have a post game presser that gets him fined. They are the most penalized team in the league and committed blatant penalty after penalty and we only got two calls (one they waited until it was too late anyways). You aren’t going to beat one of the best defensive teams in the league when they are allowed to commit whatever penalty they want to contribute to their already good defending.
Head up into the next game. Definitely not the best from the boys, but there are clear things to work on and will hopefully pay off in the long run if we work them out. Encouraging to have playoff Vasy in form – let’s make it a series boys!
only game one yall still got good momentum to build going into 2
We played poorly for at least 30-40 minutes that game, but it was still very winnable. Refs missing calls one way then calling soft shit the other in a close/tie game can definitely be the difference between a win and a loss. We didn’t necessarily play good enough to win, but with different zebras on the ice, this game could’ve ended differently.
Not a great showing today, but it was just game one and honestly I didn’t expect much more from a12:30 game. Vasy looked on his game, which is a positive. We take note, make adjustments, and we move.
I definitely feel better about our odds after that game. Bagel/Cirelli/Stamkos kept the game within one goal themselves while the other 3 lines apparently never left Tampa
We didn’t play well. I honestly don’t wanna hear all this bitching about the refs because they weren’t the problem. You don’t win playoff games with performances like that.
The only positive I can draw is that Vasy looks good, and hopefully Stammer’s goal at the end keeps the loss from being completely demoralizing. But we very much looked like the inferior team so if we don’t step it up big time this’ll be a quick series.
I think we might see hagel and duclair swap lines going forward
Need to find a way to get through their neutral zone defence better. They were getting sticks on everything. If we can get decent zone entries moving forward we can hang with them

well the other nice thing is that even though the shot counter looks ugly (and it is), this was winnable going into the 3rd, panthers got the go-ahead goal and then salted the game away. game prolly looks a bit different if it’s tied further into the 3rd. tampa just needs to hang around cause the panthers are so much more explosive than the lightning
was nice to see Vasy back in his groove though. if the passing and handling cleans itself up, we can take this series

Didn’t feel like a playoff game yet and honestly I’m not too worried. We are often a bit quiet in the first games and a lot of things were slightly off today. Nervous? Maybe. Surprisingly this was still pretty close. But we still have one or even two more gears and I think the next one shows a lot what were capable of. Coop said in the interview the guys weren’t playing as planned in the first and that was showing. PP goal was a plus and brings confidence for our top guys.

Idk if anyone’s still watching but the officiating standard in the rangers caps game is miles away different/stricter than ours my goodness.
Full game would’ve been on the power play/penalty kill for both teams.
