Let’s say that YOU are Omar Khan…

who would you select in round one?

let’s say the draft board looks like this. what would you do?

my vote would be either amarius mims, cooper dejean, or Graham barton. JPJ would be cool too.

  1. If it’s who I want, I’m picking Cooper DeJean. If it is what I think the Steelers want it is Barton or Mims.

  2. Would have my board like this:

    1. Graham Barton

    2. Amarius Mims

    3. Cooper DeJean

    4. Brian Thomas Jr

    5. Kool-Aid Mckinstry

  3. Either mims or johnson. I have been split between the two for a while. I do want a center but picking up somebody to be opposite Broderick Jones would work really well if we could draft a center in the 2nd or 3rd. I am more confident in getting a starting center in the 2nd or third than I am a tackle.

  4. Cooper DeJean and attempt to trade back into the first if Barton/JPJ > Mims drop a bit.

It’s probably an ill-advised fanfic, but if I could secure DeJean and Mims in the first, and JPJ ended up falling to the 2nd and we moved up again…I’d be fine wrapping the draft up 👌🏿😂

  5. I’d hope that Carolina wants to send both of their 2nds my way for the 1st and maybe our third or fourth

Three 2nds in this draft sounds good if there’s not a great CB on the board

  6. Trade down with whoever wants to take a WR, get an extra 2nd and give up our 4th. Take Barton, Mims, Ladd, or Dejean.

  7. I’m trading back to 25 to take Kool-Aid. Packers might want to trade up to get DeJean and we can probably get a 3rd round pick out of the trade. JPJ will be there if Kool-Aid gets picked. Not opposed to staying at 20 for Barton or Mims either.

  8. Cooper Dejean, I feel like the “Swiss army knife” skill set is the hallmark of steeler defense

  9. Cooper DeJean, Brian Thomas, or Armarius Mims

I would love BT or DeJean, but we probably need the tackle more

  10. We have so many needs, I like trading back from 20 with the last two picks and turning them into 3 picks from 50-100.

This doesn’t matter though. The Steelers won’t do this.

  11. Tradeback to the end of the if you can to the end of the first to pick up a late 2nd round pick and then pick whoever is available of Barton and Powers-Johnson.

If that doesn’t work then I personally would pick Jackson Powers-Johnson I like him more than Barton personally. I would be fine with Barton too though.

I think the Steelers will pick either Barton or Mims though.

  12. I’d personally go with Mims, Brian Thomas Jr, or McKinstry. This feels like a pretty weird draft though.

  13. I’d trade back to 28-32, still get one of those 4, and pick up another top 90 pick.

  14. Depending on what’s available at 20, I consider trading down… if there’s a good tackle available (especially a RT) I take them; if not, I look to trade down either later into the first or early second and grab a center (we literally don’t have an actual center on the roster right now).

  15. I wonder if a trade with ARI would be reasonable: 20 and 51 for 27 and 35? Would guarantee us a top tackle and top center

  16. As a Michigan fan, I saw some mocks that have us taking roman Wilson in the 2nd round and that makes me happy. He’s a little undersized but has great hands and route running and would make a decent slot

  17. Getting a top end OT is almost as big an event as being in position to take a franchise quarterback. It’s nice to think one of the top end ones could fall to 20. I’m hoping but kinda doubtful. IMO, if one of the top 5 doesn’t fall their way, Cooper DeJean would be a great choice if he’s available. IF the Steelers can move up in the 2nd round for a C that can start, it’d be worth it if they can do it by trading their late round picks.

  18. I’m trading the pick for Brandon Aayuk. Bringing back Antonio Brown and Leveon Bell.

    as it were

  19. Still over here screaming draft Bo nix. Someone set a few year reminder bot thing for me so I can say I told you so or you can insult me.

  20. Mims and DeJean have the best combination of upside and positional value, so it’d be a decision between those two for me. I’d probably lean towards DeJean because Mims just has such a broad range of outcomes. He could legitimately be a top 3 RT in a few years or he could be Mekhi Becton. At the absolute worst DeJean seems like he’d still be a valuable rotational player & core special teams contributor.

  21. If things were to unfold this way, I’m going with Mims every time.

He is, by all accounts, a freakishly good athlete and if you hit there, you’ve had a great draft, no matter what else happens. That’s not really true even if you get the best center in the draft.

Most of the knocks on the kid are related to his relative inexperience. He just hasn’t played a lot of games, so there are some questions about his durability and his technique. I would always bet on a superior athlete to master those areas with the proper nutrition and coaching.

There are going to be lots of good players available at No. 20 and I’d be thrilled with six or seven of them. But assuming a trade is not an option, give me the tackle from Georgia because it’s not often that you pick at 20th and you get an opportunity to get arguably the most athletic player at a premium position.

I will happily roll the dice on landing a starting caliber center either on Day 2 or signing one or trading for one in the off-season.

I would be pretty disappointed if they took a center in the first round.

  22. Either Brian Thomas Jr. or trade back with the 49ers. 1st Rd pk 20 and trade Austin for their 1st Rd pk 31, 2nd Rd pk 63, and 3rd Rd pk 95. Then draft Ladd McConkey.

  23. I don’t fully understand their interest in Graham Barton. He is not expected to be able to play tackle as a pro and he only played center for a portion of his freshman year. So he’s a guard basically.

I understand that he (in theory) has some versatility, but why are we showing interest in a guard at pick 20?

  24. Im going to laugh my ass off if we wait until rounds 4 or later to address center and this sub is shocked that a mid round pick isnt a good starter right away. You can find good centers in mid rounds, but they need time to develop. We need help day 1 and this sub thinks finding a starting quality player is so easy despite the fact that we’ve stuggled at the position for the last 3-4 years.

  25. Cooper DeJean. If my peers in the draft room with me are really pounding the table for Amarius Mims I could be pretty easily swayed.

  26. try to trade back so we can get a quality center

if we wait past the 2nd to draft a center we might as well not play this season

center in the top 100 or bust
