Despite having a great season, Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas was not voted as a finalist for the Most Improved Player of the Year award this season. Thomas went from averaging 10.6 points per game last season to 22.5 points this year.

  1. Cam Thomas has certainly improved, but nowhere near as much as the 3 finalists. Let’s just enjoy his continuing upward trajectory without being crazy about it eg Mikal Bridges talk this time last season

  2. MIP award has been broken for yrs. It’s basically narrative driven. The real MIP should be based on “how much did you improve since last season” and it’s unfortunately more about how your narrative changed. Bc the real MIP should be Jalen Johnson from Atlanta. Guy tripled his scoring and assists and doubled his rebounds. Just a useless award imo
