Kidd calls out Mavs’ ‘passive’ play in Game 1 loss

He’s not wrong, we were passive. What he didn’t say was that HE was passive too. Got thoroughly out coached last game.
He was also passively coaching.
It is what it is. We just have to hope that Luka and Kyrie can carry us through, because there’s only like 2-3 coaches who aren’t much better than Kidd in the playoffs. Ham and Doc Rivers for sure. Maybe Willie Green. But everyone else is going to coach circles around Kidd. Just look at the difference yesterday. Every time we even made a 6-0 run, Lue took a timeout and the Clippers had an answer to us right after that. We lost first half by 30 and Kidd used a single timeout in that half.

yeah that’s on him too. ty lue is gonna run laps around him and he’ll freeze every damn time. part of great coaching is getting your guys prepared for multiple scenarios that gets thrown at you and we all see that one coach is great at that and one coach is terrible
Kidd has lost every game one with us. It’s a seven game series potentially. I won’t lose my cool.
However, a clear challenge was to be had with Harden, being down 20/30 and you dont call timeout, and if they’re passive IT STARTS WITH THE COACH!! He had zero answer for zubac but to put in Maxi for some reason. Then played THJ 16 mins. Out coached bad. Let’s see what he has for game two.
