After Game 1, how confident are we feeling?

1. we’re probably the most likely out of the 1st round but I’m not confident enough to actually say we’ll sweep, but with how bad we played last night and STILL beat them 3-1, I do feel confident enough to say Canes in 5.

   tbh the thing I’m the most worried about is we DO get a short series, we’ve really seen where we look very sloppy coming off of long breaks. it was good enough to beat the Isles last night but that performance would have been a loss against the Rags or caps.

2. No team that continues to rely on their goalie as much as the ‘Canes did last night, is going to sweep anyone in this league.

   And frankly, if you’re thinking last night’s game is going to shake the Isle’s confidence, you’re probably wrong about that. What the Isles are thinking today is that no one gave them a chance against the ‘Canes, but they outplayed, outshot, outskated, outhit, outpassed, and everything *except* outscored the ‘Canes for two periods. That means they have a lot of positives to build on – and do not forget that they are well-coached now.

3. We got scored on exactly once and we never once trailed. And we…ya know won.

   Yes we could have done some things better, that’s a meaningless truism. You’d think no team has ever won the Cup without playing 16 perfect, flawless games.

   I get it’s a playoff game, but I don’t get why people are analyzing it like the Zapruder film.

4. Like many have said, this is a game we played flat and stole because of some great play by Freddie.

   Game 2 will be a massive indicator. Team needs to get line 1 going and really play our game. If the canes can settle into that then it’s a good chance to sweep them out.

   I still think canes probably drop game 3 like they always do and then close out in 5 but, if the team can find its game I think they can certainly sweep this and be done by Saturday.

5. Provided we can win game 2, this series comes down to if we can steal a game in NY. I have a sneaking suspicion we win in 6, but we’ll see.

6. We played like shit and still got the dub. I feel great. Brindy won’t take that performance sitting down, boys are gonna come out with fire next game. I’m very confident.

7. The less time spent against a team with nothing to lose, the better. I have no fears of too much time off compared to one slash on a wrist that could happen any moment and take out Svech/Turbo/Staal/important-person.

8. We played bad and they played to their best, but we still won

   As the series goes on, we will start to look much better
