  1. Maybe because it is next year’s second and doesn’t add anything this year but I’m not in love with what Popper has us doing here.

  2. Popper’s mock:
    Round 1 pick 10 (+ Round 3 pick 72 and 2025 2nd from Jets): OT Troy Fautanu

Round 2 pick 37: CB Mike Sainristil

Round 3 pick 69: RB Blake Corum

Round 3 pick 72: WR Devontez Walker

    Round 4 pick 105: C Hunter Nourzad

Round 4 pick 110: IDL Dewayne Carter

    Round 5 pick 140: S Josh Proctor

Round 6 pick 181: LB Marist Liufau

Round 7 pick 225: OG Elijah Klein

Round 7 pick 253: CB Chigozie Anusiem

If MHJ is there and that’s all we trade down for I’ll be upset. Not worth it, imo, for the “first pick” in the draft like the FO and Harbaugh have been saying

  3. Ya fuck this. Absolutely abysmal return for moving off the best WR prospect since Julio Jones and the best prospect overall in this class at a massive position of need. I’m so done with this pre-draft process, it’s been a rough one.

  4. I don’t think our oline is so bad we move off of who might be the best overall prospect in the draft

  5. Ngl I hate this draft. No interest in trading back that far just to get a 2025 2nd and a 3rd.

  6. You have the best player in the draft fall in your lap, you need a player at that position more than any other position and you trade back?

  7. Do all these writers and analysts realize Harbaugh isn’t in full control of the roster and that Hortiz said they’ll only trade down if the offer is huge?

That means if Marvin drops, then they’ll take Marvin. This “O-Line” and “Run the ball” narrative is absolute dogshit.

  8. I swear to god if MHJ is there and we pass I’m going to be beside myself

  9. We do not want a fair trade. We want to fleece someone, if it comes down to a trade.

  10. You guys are crazy for two things. First, believing anything you read in a mock from a scrub like popper. Hes just spitting straight nonsense for engagement. Second, for posting shit from the athletic.

  11. I like Popper he produces a lot of good content. But IMHO he completely missed the mark on this one.

He claims this mock is what he thinks the Chargers would do. Not what they should do, okay thats fine.

However, we heard Hortiz say in his presser that they believe they have the nr.1 pick in this draft and moving off would have to involve an offer that blows them away. The trade compensation with the Jets does not do that.

Hortiz also mentioned BPA is their way to go. In this mock you would have MHJ available, clear BPA at 5 for a position of need.

Even if they then trade back for an OT, the culture Harbaugh and co are building would have you look at a mauler in the rungame at OT. Fautanu is not that, neither is he BPA at 10.

This mock from the get go, goes against everything Hortiz and Harbaugh have spoken about. It makes 0 sense.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk

  12. Pass on Marvin for Fautanu and some day 2 picks lol? Ngl, I’d be absolutely fuming if this happened. No way Jim and Hortiz go this route.

  13. I’m fine with the second round pick, but adding a RB who has little to no experience as a pass catcher and is one of the older RBs in the draft with a lot of usage is not ideal. It’s also been proven you can win with a RB drafted in the 5th or later. Getting draft capital is fine, but not sure why you would opt to get the capital in the following years draft when you need guys now. It makes no sense. Really woulda thought Popper would have a bit better of a mock tbh. One of my least favorite I’ve seen and it came from our beat writer.

  14. If MHJ is available at 5 and they don’t draft him I will lose my shit, especially if it’s to pick up a 3rd and 2nd round pick.

  15. I like Popper’s 3.0 mock more. If we’re not trading with the Vikings in the first, we should stay at 5 and pick MHJ. And yea, I know Popper said this is what he thinks they do and not what he would do, but I don’t see Hortiz doing it for that compensation.

  16. People are going to be really surprised when we don’t draft any Michigan players lol

  17. We take an OG, a slot CB, and a RB in first three rounds. We can’t not take the premium positions that you pay a ton for in free agency — WR, OT, DT, outside CB, and EDGE (though I don’t think we should take EDGE…noting it as the other premium position we could theoretically take).

    Terrible mock.

  18. If this was reality I’m taking two WR in the first 3 rounds , I’ll wait until the fourth for a RB .
