At this point it seems pretty clear that both he and Gobert will simply never be respected by their peers.
No other major hawks notes of importance in the other polls, and this quote from a player is the only other hawks mention in the article:

I’m going to be completely real, the most overrated player in the league is probably Damian Lillard. Sabonis ans Young should be on the list of underrated not overrated.

I feel like players just answer with who they don’t like/respect. Like players don’t like Trae so they put him as overrated. Same with Gobert.
On the flip side players respect Dame. So he’s not overrated.

Overrated how? Who likes him? Media doesn’t like him, non-Hawks fans don’t like him, players apparently don’t like him. Overrated means someone rates him highly I don’t think anyone outside of our media market does. Part of me is rooting for him to get traded to the Spurs and wreck the league with Wemby to get the respect he deserves
Interesting that they cite officiating the way they do when Trae doesn’t get calls that everyone else does. He baits defenders into what is clearly a shooting foul and they regularly call it on the floor instead of putting him on the line. SGA has a similar style of getting to the line and it’s always called a shooting foul for him.
This list is garbage half the players are all stars and the other half are roleplayers that no one is overrating

“Most overrated” literally just means “I don’t like this particular player for whatever reason”. Gobert bc he clamps them up, Trae bc they can’t stop a funny looking midget, and John Collins bc people are jealous of his contract. I doubt any of the players voting on this actually consider these guys overrated they simply don’t like them
