  3. Best Falcon of all time. I’m sorry we couldn’t get him a ring and he did almost everything possible to do so. Have a great retirement, Matt!

  15. I hope he makes it to the HOF. Best QB in franchise history by far. I hate that in the eyes of none falcons fans his legacy is defined by one game. One game that truly wasn’t even his fault for how it ended.

  27. That shot of MVP 2 up on the wall on Krog, man, this made me a little emotional. I was there on New Year’s Day for the final regular season game at the Dome against the Saints during our SB run. After every completed pass, the entire place would erupt in chants of M-V-P! M-V-P! And we kicked the shit out of them. Almost all of their points came in 4th quarter garbage time. I still have the ticket stub taped to my work cabinet.

    It feels like he’s getting closer to the recognition he deserves after being massively underappreciated during his career. I hope makes it into the hall.

    Tony: Fifteen seasons, Paulie. Led ’em to a Super Bowl, even snagged an MVP.

    Paulie: Shame they never got the ring. So what’s he gonna do now?

    Tony: Probably gonna spend time with the family, maybe do some commentary. Who knows, maybe he’ll pull a Tony Romo.

    Paulie: Heh, as long as he doesn’t end up like some of these other mooks after retirement.

    Tony: You said it. The guy’s got respect. Deserves a good send-off.

  41. No matter what, even when we had so many doubters saying he would never be like Vick, he paved his way to be the only MATTY ICE!!! So grateful for every year I spent watching on sundays!!!

  43. I was at the bears game in 08 when he whipped that crazy ass pass to Jenkins to set up the game winning FG as the clock died. I knew that son of a bitch was the real deal then and there. The lack of respect this man received from Atlanta for so many years will always annoy this piss out of me. Knew it was coming but I’m still sad.

    This is the GOAT Falcon. He may not make it to Canton but for what he did for this franchise and this City, it seems impossible for someone to replace his legacy.

    He’s the Dale Murphy of the Falcons, took us out of perpetual mediocrity and made us a contender.
