Ngl, I’m still pretty haunted by last night. I just keep thinking about how different everything would feel if we escaped with that one and were 1-0 with 2 days off and Game 2 basically feeling like house money. Commendable to try and get the shot off instead but I do wonder if it woulda been smarter to try and get the call and if the refs woulda even gave us that call

I’m not mad that he got an open look. We’d be more upset if he attempted to get the call and the refs didn’t call it.
Foul baiting for a last shot is tough. I know SGA got the call jumping into Larry, but I believe the refs swallow their whistle if CJ launched into Wallace.
I will never understand letting CJ just iso the last 14 seconds and intentionally switching him onto a very good defender. Why there was no movement, no screens, no DHO, nothing, just pickup ball.
Now that you mention it, not a bad idea
On principle I don’t think they would’ve called it
Yes. Or he could’ve taken a reset dribble to get a more set shot. Or he could’ve dribbled into an open midrange to tie it. Or he could’ve kicked it back to Trey for a better look. There were so many better options than what he decided to do.
They wouldn’t have called it
He’s not a superstar player, so no way he gets the call.
No way they call it in that situation for CJ. Other players may get that, but not him. I’m glad he didn’t, because we all would’ve been pissed if he went for it, and didn’t get the call
I’m not confident CJ wouldn’t choke 2 of the free throws
No. You’re never gonna get that call in that situation. CJ got a fine look last night so I’m not even that mad at him that possession. Wish he would’ve made it but we had a lot of chances to put it away
This last play isn’t on CJ. It’s on Willie. What a terrible play design
No. Get the shit off. Now is not the time to foul bait
