  1. I do wonder how they will use this pick if they choose to keep it.

Haven’t looked at who is projected to be there at all yet but I wonder if they will pick someone for a draft-and-stash (like Jessup & Gui initially), a two-way guy (like Nico Mannion), or for the actual 15-man roster (like TJD & Rollins.) Personally doubt it be the 15-man route

  2. The ONLY way to add value in this era for a team above the cap is by the Draft. If there is ANYONE worth a shot left, we should take him. Unless there’s another TJD situation, we’ll probably put whoever we draft on a TWC.

  3. Wonder if you could orchestrate another “agent special,” like they did with TJD. Guarantee an active roster spot to some guy penned to go in the late 30s, who’d otherwise be looking at a potential two-way contract. Helped that Dunleavy’s brother was TJD’s agent, wonder who he’s representing this cycle lol

Sucks they likely won’t have their own 1st (especially now that it dropped to 14), but at least they got 52 in their pocket. Cheap roster spot, a 2-way or a draft/stash (Chomche if he’s there?), or at worst, trade bait.

Assume they’d be eyeing an upperclassman? Makes sense if they’re looking to add them to the official 15man. Then again, with all of JK, Moody, Podz, and TJD being able to play 30min, maybe they could absorb a semi-developmental project? Maybe go for an international player like Melvin Ajinca (6’8 floor spacing wing), or Nikola Djurisic (6’8 guard/win)? Ajinca would be really interesting.

Oso Ighodaro for the defense? Has a decent handle already, maybe he could be an option at PF? Doesn’t aeem like he attempted a single 3 through 4 years, so uh… maybe not?

Tyon Grant-Foster is 24 is likely looking at being a two-way, if he’s medically cleared, he could be a guy (6’7 wing).

Would be jokes if they got Cam Spencer, Pat’s brother. Would prefer someone taller, but you can’t be too picky that late in the draft, and at least they could be fairly confident his 3ball will translate.

If you could get Kwame Evans Jr. that late, that’d be perfect. Promising two guaranteed years (with two team option years after, like TJD) could maybe do it, but I assume he goes closer to 30 than 52.

Hard to find an actual NBA player that late in the draft, if they keep the pick, hopefully Dunleavy’s scouting continues to impress.

  4. As bad as our luck involving tiebreakers has been I had to read this about eight times to be sure we didn’t somehow lose the pick as a result of the coin flips.

I was sure at a glance this was “surprise you just lost the one pick you thought you had” glad it wasn’t 😁
