Question about Brock

Giants fan here:

I was looking through an old mock draft for 2021 and I saw Jason McIntyre projected Brock to be a first round pick in his way to early mock draft. Anybody know why he slid from a projected first round pick to the last pick?

  1. Brock had a fantastic Sophomore year but decided to run it back instead of early declaring. Then had 2 decent years that did not improve upon that special year.

  2. Best thing that ever happened for us was him running it back at Iowa st 😎

  3. Thank god he went back for his 2021 season, he actually outperformed 2020 except for wins and rushing yards. I think scouts questioned his arm strength and size in 2022 and he dropped in the draft. NFL scouts are looking at the physical traits, they suck at measuring between the ears. Win for us and a win for Brock if he has a great yr this year he will be one of the highest paid QBs going into the 2025 season.

  4. He was a freak in sophomore year and then sort of plateaued and he got forgotten about and was 2 years older. It coincided with Breece Hall becoming the focus of the offence too.

  5. He got coached into being a bit more of a pocket passer in his junior and senior years. He rarely scrambled. Breece Hall had something to do with that.

The 3 TE scheme they ran also got figured out a bit, and was less successful. And they didn’t really have a deep threat like they had with Hakeem Butler his sophomore season.

  6. Idk how to feel about seeing us draft Purdy. Niners are my NFC team but I’m a Titans fan first. I’m very happy with Levis, but he’s not proven. Purdy though, absolutely a stud.
