  1. Odd, I don’t see the choice of him having an OPS+ as a Jay of 80 until two weeks ago.

Hope he’s figured it out, I really do.

  2. He looks great but he was awful at the dish last year
I do think the new stance is allowing him to barrel baseballs last year he would have been late on

  3. I fucking love Daulton Varsho. I just hope the regression to the mean won’t be too harsh ❤️

  4. “doomers tell me it’s a lost trade because he didn’t hit the bat well, yet had no idea what WAR and dWAR is”

  5. One hot month doesn’t make up for a full season of dog shit.

I hope he keeps it up, but Im not sold on him yet.

  6. I would like to formally apologize to Daulton Varsho. I thought bringing back Kiermeir made him redundant and I was wrong.

  7. At least the haters had more than a 10 game streak to base their conclusions on.

  8. No thanks, I see no reason see set aside that the fact that he was playing like ass until recently.

When he proves that this is more than a hot streak I’ll apologize.

  9. Mistook him for Bradley Zimmer is closest. Varsho had a loopy ass swing last year and would strike out on three straight high fastballs. It turns out instead of a goofy ass antelope, he’s a dong happy wild boar Jay.

  10. 22 games is not a significant sample.

I like the changes he’s made to his swing, but let’s check back in at the 80 game mark.

  11. his defense has always been worth the price of admission, but add the bat? Let’s hope this is the new norm.

  12. Gotta give him credit, he has been very very good. Was down on him to start the season. Was also down on Berrios and Kikuchi in their bad years so maybe I should learn by now to give players some time lol.

  13. I know it sounds BS but I loved Varsho’s defense and baserunning / IQ last year. Even Buck had highlighted it a few times last year. I thought I was just coping from the trade but I knew this kid’s special.

I hope he keeps this hot streak but damn, the speed + defense of Varsho has been and will continue be invaluable.

  14. I thought he’d be decent but I didn’t expect the bats to be what they’ve been.

  15. It’s nice to see after what we gave up for him but he was dogshit at the plate last year so I don’t think he’s owed any apologies. He did what he needed to in the off-season to fix things and let’s hope he keeps it up.

  16. If only there was a reverse DH position, other than the pitcher. Like he can play the field, but not bat.
