1983 was a banner season for the Orioles
and August 24th was a night to remember
down a run in the top of the 10th Tippy
Martinez comes on in relief with a
runner on first Barry bonell he wants to
steal but he becomes victim number one
as Martinez picks him off Dave Collins
then walks only to be picked off by
Martinez they got him two outs will
Upshaw singles but Martinez nabs his
final culprit of the inning another
throw to first and they got him holy
count they pick off three that’s right
three pickoffs three outs to this day
Martinez Remains the only pitcher on
record to NAB three runners via pickoff
in the same inning oh and in the bottom
of the inning the Orioles came back and
won it the winning pitcher Tippy

That last one was borderline, I gotta say. Maybe its the camera angle but it looked like he was moving toward the plate. I don't know the rules back then, I was only on two years old.
