  1. That would certainly be a twist. He seems like an absolute dog but I just don’t think I can see that happening lol

  2. I call BS. This just sounds like a team like the Broncos or another team drafting around that area trying to trade back and create more urgency.

  3. Despite no pro day and no visit? Just Senior Bowl and Combine?

Man, if this happens, throw everything you know out the window.

  4. I like the player, but trading up for a defensive player at this point would be pretty insane. If they want to stick and pick a DB at 20, thats one thing. But, you’d really want to have as much draft capital as possible for offense if you’re going D early.

Obviously no one is taking this kind of report seriously, but I still have to say just how crazy it would be. If we do trade up it’s probably because they have an OT they really like out of Fuaga, Fautanu, Fashanu, and Latham.

  5. OOTL here – is Donte Jackson just too injury prone or washed to start opposite JPJ? I thought center and WR were our most pressing needs. I’m obviously missing something but I didn’t find much on Google. Thanks in advance.

  6. I bet the Steelers do trade up, but it’s for a tackle like JC Latham or Tailese Fuaga

  7. Honestly this would be the only non tackle pick that I would be genuinely excited about (although probably not at the cost of a trade up). Still, by many accounts he was the most dominant player on either side of the ball at the senior bowl and that has a pretty good track record for predicting future success.

  8. I highly doubt any team past pick #5 in any given year is calling teams ahead of them saying “yeah we are trying to move up the board for Joe Smith.” That would be absolutely stupid. Do teams call teams ahead of them saying “hey we have guys we like and wanted to know if you conceptually might be open to moving back if you don’t like the bird? We are at pick X and you are at pick Y want to talk compensation if you get on the clock and we both want to strike a deal?” Absolutely I bet the Steelers, and every other team in the league have had talks with half a dozen or more teams like that in a given year. But no team is saying they want to move up the draft board for a specific player when they have no idea who the 12-19 players will be picked before they could conceivably move up the board

  9. Remember this is just Quiyon’s agent trying to drum up interest so a team on the fence has pressure to pull the trigger on him

  10. Khan has a history of building from the trenches out and defense is not this team’s problem. The problem is the offense is on the field 20% of the game and then the defenders all get hurt. Mitchell is the best CB in the draft imho but trading up for any defender would be malpractice.

  11. Can’t wait for draft day so we can get actual news instead of random reporters saying they heard a rumor that a team might be interested in trying to do something.

  12. If the Steelers trade up it would have to be them absolutely fleecing somebody else because there are too many needs to be giving away draft picks to move up just a few spots

  13. Similar to the Brian Thomas Jr post the other day, I love Quinyon Mitchell but don’t buy this at all.

  14. This is the best move imo. Quinyon is the best corner in the draft. He’s a bigger upgrade at CB2 than the 4th or 5th tackle would be over Dan Moore. Moore isn’t good but he’s serviceable.

Our defense goes from top 10 to the best in the league with another premiere shut down corner.

  15. Draft Reporter Tony Pauline throws a ton at the wall and hopes it sticks.

I’d believe Dulac if he reported this.

I don’t think this is true. Maybe the trade up part is but I doubt it’d be for Mitchell.

But I’d be ok with it because I think Mitchell is awesome.
