WR Gary Ballman (1962-1966)

Gary Ballman was drafted by the Steelers with the 104th overall pick of the 1962 NFL Draft out of Michigan State. He played in Pittsburgh for 5 seasons, starting in 44/57 games and catching 154 receptions for 2,949 yards and 22 tds, as well as 39 rushing attempts for 155 yards and 3 tds. He is also among the top kick returners in franchise history, returning 64 kicks for 1,711 yards and 1 td, averaging 26.7 yards per return. While with the Steelers, he was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1964 and 1965.

After leaving the Steelers, Ballman spent 6 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before spending time with both the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants during the 1973 season, which would be his final year in the league. After retiring from his playing career, he worked for the NFLPA until 1979 and then was a salesman for building products until his retirement in 2003. He passed away on May 20, 2004.
