“It’s beautiful.”

  1. I’m pretty sure this guy is just saying the opposite of what media wants him to say at this point.

  2. Full quote:
“No, not at all. I think it’s beautiful. … Why would you get an award for the past?”

  3. The only one that I might argue over is “Clutch Player.” Unless this is wedded to some key stats, it seems like too wide open, and therefore open to far more players including some Celts. But more importantly–I love that we are a *Team.*

  4. Sure people remember regular season awards but Finals MVP and a ring are etched in history forever.

  5. I went from wanting this dude fired last year to loving him. Wild turn of events

  6. It’s like how Sgt. Pepper didn’t have a single on it but it was one of the greatest albums of all time

  7. Honestly, it kind of is. This team is like the 2014 Spurs; everyone does their job to perfection. Each game there’s a different star that steps up. I truly believe this is the team that wins the chip

  8. We’re realllllllly being held to the ‘bring home the ring’ standard. I’m starting to feel like I want us to bring home the ring and then absolutely melt everyone next season. Think we can’t do it? Watch, we’ll do it and we’ll come back with a vengeance just cause we can.

We’re also a remarkably well balanced team, with performance and stats distributed amongst too many players to have any absolute, standout stars. No one is the obvious, standout savior each and every night. THAT’S what gets votes IMO. It’s hard to stand out when you’re playing on such a standout team.
