He was always meant to be a work in progress. His hands were a documented issue and was still projected as a FRP. Let’s see how he looks with a year in the NFL under his belt and an offseason with Harbaugh.

Fuck it, trade away our first 3 picks next year and trade back up with ATL. Rake up Nabers, Fuaga, Frazier with our first 3 picks. Then mix in CB, DL, LB to close it out.
One more day till I can order my MHJ/Nabers jersey
My prediction (not necessarily my preference):
WR at 5.
-Its been the plan since Keenan was traded, unless someone gave us the trade offers of all trade offers. JH&JH used the high pick to play pay-cut hardball with Keenan.
-Harbaugh isn’t a flashy WR type guy? I think Harbaugh is going to surprise people next year when he isn’t as “run 1st” as people are thinking.
We are going to see a new leaf from Harbaugh and G-Ro, because they have a crazy talented QB. Our run game/passing game approach will be based on our opponents, like a *real* strategy other they give Herbo the ball and ride his talent. This is what I am looking forward to next year – a properly run FB team. Like even if we lose, I won’t be scratching my head on how we gave a win a way (like the 2023 Titans game, 2023 Green Bay game. Those were games we should have won, *we* lost the games.)

I want to see a little more size with QJ but not too much. He just seemed to get bullied at times. Still rooting for this kid, though, and hope he breaks out.
I don’t think Joe Alt is a bad player or even terrible value at 5. Why I don’t like the pick is because it would not be BPA, and we would be asking him to play a position he’s never played before. That’s taking on a lot of risk compared to picking a WR at 5. On top of that, RT isn’t even the biggest need on our OL. If we for some reason need to address OL with our first pick it would make more sense to trade down and draft a guard or center.
I hope we trade for 11 and 23 and then grab Bowers/OT at 11 and then WR (Franklin, Thomas Jr., or Legette) late first round
