  1. The reporting around the Giants is legitimately amusing this year. Schoen has done 2 draft classes with legitimately 0 leaks (which, by extension, means ownership hasn’t said shit either). I don’t trust any reports about the teams intentions.

As for the actual content of this – for all Mara’s faults, there’s been 0 reporting that he’s influenced Schoen’s process. I trust Dunleavy a lot more than a different teams beat reporter. If Ryan comes out and confirms this, then I’ll believe there’s smoke there. Which, actually, can someone with Twitter ping him on this? Would be curious what he has to say.

  2. Didn’t Mara literally come out and say that he will support anything Schoen do if they go after a QB?

  3. I wouldn’t be mad if we got a stud WR at 6.

Let’s be real, we can’t afford to trade the farm to move up.

  4. THE 2004 GIANTS HAVE TOO MANY ROSTER HOLES TO TRADE PICKS FOR A SHOT AT A QB!!!!

  5. Oh god if Mara starts getting involved in personnel decisions again we’re doomed.

  6. I’d be really cautious about taking anything these people say so seriously this close to the draft.

First off, it could be another team feeding that info. It brings to mind 5 years ago when she said the Giants won’t take a QB at 6. Then they did.

Second, it goes directly against what Mara himself said earlier how he’d be supportive of drafting a QB if that’s what they want to do. They’ve scouted all of these guys heavily (especially Maye) and they wouldn’t be doing that if they were getting blocked.

I’m sure there’s an element of truth here in that ownership is probably thinking “jeez, we just paid this guy 80 million and we’re going to change course after only 6 games?” But that doesn’t mean any type of move for a QB is going to get blocked.

  7. Man If this shit is true good fucking luck getting another GM that’s worth anything in the future. Ownership can’t get out of its own way, dude.

  8. Does that include somehow making it so Daniel jones doesn’t continue to get injured? Cause if not I don’t know how we can “work with Daniel jones”.

  9. What Robert Mays said in response nailed it.

If this is true (which I don’t believe it is), this would be an example of how bad teams stay bad.

  10. I just got an article recommended to me on The Score, saying we are in fact trying to trade up

  11. If I’m Maleek Nabers’ agent I’m making a deal with State Farm right now. “Like a good Naber, State Farm is there.” Tons of marketing opportunity in the NY market

  12. The idea that Schoen and Daboll are on the hot seat as is presented in the pod is ridiculous and unacceptable if it’s true. Daboll is one season removed from winning coach of the year and Schoen has to clean up the mess left by the run of shit who preceded him and fucked up 4 years of decisions.

  13. Idk why people don’t realize this is probably the case

For better or worse Schoen paid Danny a big deal for 4 years

It wouldn’t make sense to immediately abandon your own deal after 5 games – it would essentially be an admission of “we have no faith in Jones and I really fucked up by signing him”

  14. Let Daniel play one more year and then clean house. Anyone that agreed to signing Daniel has to go.
