[Windhorst] Denver (Malone) down 20 in the 3rd, called a TO and made 1 simple adjustment, he moved Jokic away from AD with Gordon guarding him instead… Lakers (Ham) never countered back.

  1. 6’8 aaron gordon isnt the reason why ad didnt cook the reason why ad didnt cook was cause dumb ass ham stopped making plays and also ad doesnt have the killer instant black mamba mentality, he soft

  2. If that’s true then the player (in this case AD) has to speak up and demand the ball.

I don’t buy for one second Ham has total control of the offense.

  3. LeBron handling the ball and making plays all the time killed chances of winning last night. It has been that way all season long and no one wanting to say it other than Robert Horry, i don’t know if thats the play or its just LeBron doing it.

  4. Ham is a certified jackass guys. He had to sit AD after getting his 4th foul and played smaller and put Rui on single coverage on Jokic for like 6 straight possessions. It was all downhill from there

  5. It was pretty much a two for one nuggets adjustment. Had jokic guard/play off rui so he could play the help defender role and be around the paint clogging driving/passing lanes which allowed jokic to conserve energy due to rui being a non factor. Had Gordon guard AD and play off close to/in/around the paint which meant the nuggets were able to have two guys in help position with jokic/gordon around the paint at all times, this led to the offense grinding to a halt due to no driving/passing lanes. Ham didn’t call any timeouts or make any adjustments to counter the nuggets and it ended up costing them the game.

This has been a reoccurring issue throughout hams time as a coach. Ham can prepare for games and come up with game-plans, but he can’t adjust in game once a team counters. Can’t have a coach who has no clue on how to come up with counters to other team’s adjustments throughout a game and can only adjust once the game is over. As we’ve seen all year, waiting until the game is over and adjusting for the next game puts you behind because the other team is just going to counter whatever ham came up with. All year they’ve been able to get big leads and then they lose them because the other team adjusts while ham sticks to the game plan he came up with before the game.

  6. We didn’t so much fail to counter as we failed to continue spamming the high pick and roll. AD got in foul trouble and even after he returned it took like 5-6 minutes for us to go back to it (which resulted in open 3s on back to back possessions).

  7. This is going according to plan. Ham still has adjustments in his pockets. You’ll see in game 3.

  8. Unbelievable, we all saw it. And we couldn’t come up with anything to counter. Ham is maybe the worst in game adjustment coach in the league…

  9. In the first game Malone adjusted after 1 quarter and Ham didn’t have a counter move.

In the second game Malone adjusted after 2 quarters and Ham didn’t have a counter move.

    The coaching difference is blatant.

  10. I think it’s hard to blame Ham for how the offense operates throuhghout the game and also season. You have the best 2 way player in the league and the brightest basketball mind in his 5th prime. Coach Ham does his job in getting the hell out of the way and doing well to manage the egos.

Lebron doesn’t seem have the stamina to closeout out a lead by running the clock down and then driving to the basket to finish/ or kick it out like he has in the past. The Lakers really built a nice lead when he subbed him self out after the failed pass to Rui.

    Maybe it’s the Denver air.

Staying in Denver between away games might be a mistake for the Lakers. It takes 2-3 weeks for an athlete to acclimate to the change in elevation. They would be better off flying back to LA flying in early the day of.

P.S. I wish we had an Artest to elbow Murray in the mouth.

P.S.P.S. If Ham is trying to emulate Phil’s Zen, then he needs to remember the Zen master wasn’t afraid to put the refs on blast and eat some fines, and do some of his coaching through the media.

  11. you can win some games with a player’s talent, but when you don’t pay attention to the details, it will cost you in the end, because the opponent has the same talent.

and ham is an incompetent coach who doesn’t pay attention to details.

  12. So what’s the reason that they hired an unproven and inexperienced person to coach this team?

  13. This.

They started running Rui and Lebron PNRs and it wasn’t fucking working.

All they had to do was find a way to post up AD on Gordon FFS.

  14. even dating back to last year’s playoff, Denver had always made adjustment in the 3rd quarter and Ham just well, has his hands in his pockets. Denver always cruises in the first half and takes off in the second half.

  15. Bra I was so hot they went away from AD tryna attack Jokic with weak ass ball screens. Like Gordon CANT HOLD AD WHAT THE FUCK

  16. Tbf, what is the counter? We lack bigs and all of our secondary scorers are playing like bitches. The truth is Rui has been shit, so switching Gordon off him doesn’t make the Nuggets pay. We play 3 on 5 when we are on offense because AR and Rui are playing like shit. The line up people been bitching for is playing like they did in the beginning of the year.

  17. i said this exact same thing yesterday i think windy is stealing my content 😂

  18. If basketball journalist can pinpoint all the glaring issues, why can’t someone on the coaching staff or even the players SPEAK UP??
