  1. Wife and I are headed to our first playoff game on Friday (we’re beleaguered East Coast fans who just desperately need a <8:00pm start). Any recommendations for places to go on game day? We’re staying close to the Sack and wouldn’t mind Ubering a short distance if necessary.

  2. Awesome – just awesome – the panic from Tuesday has subsided, the sun set and rose again, and all is good in Avs land, as it should be. Whisper words of wisdom, let it be. Happy hump day, Avs faithful.

  3. One thing that’s struck me in both of these games that’s been different from the regular season is that this team has absolutely zero quit and doesn’t seem swayed that much by the emotions of the game.

Game one, I feel like a lot of teams would pack it in and go “It’s not our night” instead they kept making it a game, kept pushing. Even the Avs in the regular season as we’ve seen probably kind of give up and it woulda been a blowout.

Then the double minor, they don’t score on it and give up a goal really shortly after.. it felt like all the momentum of the game coulda swung to the Jets and the Avs just kept attacking, kept with it, and got rewarded.

  4. A key to this series is going to be if they can gain the lead going into the 3rd. I dont think we are going to be able to rely on 3rd period Avs heroics against the Jets. Gotta win it in the first two periods.

  5. All respect to Georgiev for the bounce back, it had to be really tough mentally to be able to fight through it and come back so strong. Hoping that game gave him back some of the confidence he deserves because we’ve seen him be a brick wall at times.

One player I’m impressed by who isn’t making the biggest impact yet is Mittelstadt. This is his first taste of playoff hockey, it’s against one of the biggest and grindiest teams. He’s looking a bit out of place at times, but I’m loving his hustle. He seems to be doing everything he can to contribute to the forecheck and drive plays up the ice when possible. He’s not making a huge dent on the scoresheet yet, but he’s been a beast in possession and I’m hoping he just keeps getting better as the playoffs go on.
