Like the Athletic isn’t saying something that hasn’t already been said by better and more credible writers.
I’m not going to get into the semantics of ownership over names and logos. Every sane person knows the team is gone, and it’s 99.99% likey not coming back in the NHLs given timeline.
For the love of god guys, drop the Katie Strang hate. She is not responsible for the team leaving.
Yeah this is a weird article.
It sucks because Strang has been really on top of things with this whole saga, and this piece just makes me feel like she’s flushing away a lot of her credibility just to get a few more clicks out of this story.
Nothing new was said, nothing other than her (and I assume Chris Johnston’s) opinions on Meruelo was added to the conversation, which really aren’t needed in a paywalled article: Twitter suffices for the rest of us.
Everything we needed to and already knew about Meruelo and this story has already been covered. This just felt personal to her.
