Why 2024 Could Be End of an Era for Ángel Hernández and Bad MLB Umpires

  1. VR glasses/goggles with a strike zone box projecting from the pitchers mound is the solution for all of this. Doesn’t fully eliminate Umpires and they will therefore be more accurate. Everyone wins.

  2. Angel tried to sue the MLB because they were “racist” towards Hernandez. Turns out he lost lol.

  3. All this in mind? Wendelstedt DID get the call right. He was looking for the HBP, which did happen, and he went down to first on the swing/no-swing (and the 1B ump got that right). And he told Boone all of that.

EDIT: It was obvious the batter didn’t swing. I could tell that without needing a first-base ump the first time I saw the clip, haters.

Add in the Boone’s been tossed more than any other manager in the past 5 or whatever years, and, rightly or wrongly, he comes off looking like the Draymond Green of MLB managers.

Now, that doesn’t excuse his post-game belligerence.

  4. If MLB can impose the DH on both leagues, surely they can do away with the fine tradition of terrible umpires.

  5. Time for the challenge system. Each team gets 3 incorrect challenges(can challenge as many time as you want as long as you are correct). I also think any ump with x overturned calls (x to be negotiated) should be sent somewhere for retraining and replaced with a new ump.
