I assume it would be for MHJ? I might get downvoted for saying this, but maybe if they absolutely love a top QB prospect? I think about it from this angle. The Vikings tried trading up for Anthony Richardson last year before Cousins tore his Achilles. If the Falcons have the same thought process as the Vikings, Cousins will help you compete now while a prospect learns under him. I donβt think this is the case since Iβm guessing calls would be for MHJ, but this news is interesting nonetheless
1. It cannot be for a QB no way do you sign Kirk for 100 million for 2 years if you were going to draft up or even take a QB in Round 1. This makes no sense. You want Kirk playing with one eye behind his back in the midst of QB controversy if he has a bad game. Ridiculous! 2. It cannot be for a Defender they top one will likely be there at 8. You can just wait and get him. 3. They don’t need an starting OT yet. 4. **So… must be MHJ – this is the HR shot to get a top 5 offense.**
Isn’t this standard operating procedure every year to gauge what the market and opposing team’s draft strategies are?
The only guy I could see them trading up for is MHJ at 4 presumably… but what the hell would it cost to get AZ off that pick?
I don’t see this as something serious, just calling to see the price really
Itβs probably trading back up for a second first round pick similar to texans last year
If the falcons trade up, we deserve all the hate lmao
Jayden Daniels obviously. Terry answered my calls.
MHJ seems cool and all but I donβt think heβs worth the farm. I think if we went for WR Nabers or Odunze would be good. We might be able to land one of these two without trading up though
not Cam Marino
Would love Marvin Harrison, guy is an absolute unit. Would put the league on notice a little bit.
It makes sense to make the calls. Chatting through a possibility is very different from a draft day proposal. Suspect this is just good planning.
Just due diligence, but the only players it should be is for a QB. And if they do trade up, that would be one of the most expensive backup plans ever. 100 million guaranteed and then a haul for a trade up for a rookie QB is some planning.
I donβt think they want to trade up. I think they are gauging what it will cost for pick 3,4,and 5 so when their pick is on the clock they know what to ask for pick 8 in the event thereβs a QB there and they are getting calls
It was probably with the Chargers. I’ve seen mocks where QB’s go 1-4 and we traded up to 5 to get MHJ
1st off, Cam Marino is a liar.
2nd off, I think if the Falcons are trading up- it will be in the back half of round 1 for Penix. Every report says ATL loves him. Could be a smoke screen, or could be we want to develop him behind Kirk for a couple of years.
I think we are much more likely to trade down then up.
I would puke from excitement if we traded up for MHJ! I miss Julio so much, and this guy could be him or even better.
