  3. Good. Has the ideal tools to be a franchise QB. Definitely feel better about this than I felt when we drafted Jones. I just pray this time around we invest into our offense and support the kid.

    Ride w Jacobi this year, iron out Mayes mechanics and get the dude some offensive support that isn’t aging, injured veteran cast-offs.

  6. I really like his fit. Someone who’s higher ceiling but needs a lot of time to develop feels perfect for our timeline. The expectations will not be high for the first few years.

    Just hope the team doesn’t feel pressure to rush him out unless they’re confident he’s the kind of guy who will develop better making mistakes in game.

  9. I’m not getting my hopes up yet. In 2021, lots of people still talked Mac to 49ers. I do think the first 3 picks will be QBs, Williams will be 1, but anything can happen after that.

  15. Drafting a QB at 3 just to sit him year one don’t want to hear any excuses if he’s worse than Mac Jones

  19. Reminder: Anyone can be a bust, regardless of where they were drafted. Just be excited for the skillset we get in him and hope the team sets him up nicely.

    That being said, I’m excited for the second and third rounds. Those guys are gonna be contributing more to the team come week 1 than Maye.

  23. The vikings sub is partially melting down over these rumors coming out today. Some are still claiming its a smoke screen and some are accepting it

  24. Not sure why everyone is so high on him opposed to JJ. Highlights show Maye has no pop. Just sits and throws. Yeah he can throw a bomb but if that’s all he’s got…JJ looks to be the better fit IMO. Guy is agile and seems to be more athletic. We also seem to have a bit of luck with Michigan guys….

  25. I’m feeling worse and worse about this pick the more mechanics issues that keep coming to light. Sure it’s probably partially due to his team and OLine sucking… but isn’t that basically our team? It’s not going to get easier in the NFL.

  26. Main thing I’m worried about is Maye means we’re almost certainly not fixing LT or WR in the draft, leading to wanting to sit him most of the season, and being unwatchable (again) this season.

    Which means now MayoWolf is going into year 2 with a complete bust of a year under their belt and 3 straight years of organizational malaise downing the organization in the muck. Gonna be brutally hard to climb out of that.

  27. Yes! A project QB at 3 overall who will maybe hopefully be able to start in 2025. Awesome!
