  1. Cincy doesn’t trade players unless they are offered an arm and a leg. Don’t hold your breath

  2. * 2024 – $15M ($0 guaranteed) – Age 30
    * 2025 – $16M ($0 guaranteed) – Age 31

    I wonder if he just wants guaranteed money or if he actually wants more years. I’d guess that in order to trade for him, he’d really want to be signed to a new 4-year contract with guaranteed money in it. I could easily see this just being his agent’s way of pressuring Cincinnati into restructuring his contract to get a decent amount of the salary changed to guaranteed. Maybe even add a year to it. Who knows though.

    Hendrickson is great. But we already have Landry counting for ~$24M against the cap every year through 2026 and have Simmons doing the same. (Simmons’s contract goes through 2027, but the way the dead money and savings line up, I’d think you could move on from him after 2026 if [god forbid] there were reason to do so.)

    I know EDGE just is an expensive position. And top-level IDL doesn’t come cheap either. But if we were to trade for Hendrickson, it just feels like we’d be locked into a lot of money for a lot of years clustered in one part of the field between those three players. Which, I mean, I guess if you’re going to invest in one place on the defense, that’s probably the place to do it.

  3. Shiiiiiid, I really want to keep our second rounder but if they’ll take a 4th

  4. Doing some maffs here, we’re just over 31 mil in cap space. If he takes up half of that this year, we’re left with ~16, minus the ~10 for the draft picks, so ~6mil remaining for guys we could target after the draft in FA, other teams training camp cuts, or signings during the season if someone gets injured.

    Im assuming he’d have to restructure so the hit is less this year if this were to happen?

  5. We’d need to trade with Minnesota for him. There doesn’t seem like any other way it’d happen otherwise

  6. I’d love to pick him up.

    A line with Landry, Simmons, Hendrickson and maybe someone from the draft would be insane. Sweat could pair well if we don’t overreact to the character complaints.

  7. I’d trade a second for him if possible. If they move back with Minnesota I would be okay with trading the 2nd 1st rounder.
