  1. He’s also predicted our last 4 first round picks correctly if that means anything.

  2. I’m just going to copy/paste what I said on the draft sub. I have a lot of respect for DJ and i know he is a guy who is very much in the loop…but I really think he, and everyone else, are in the dark on Atlanta’s thought process here:

It the Falcons end up actually taking Turner at 8, then not only am I all for it, but I give enormous props to all these mock drafters for being prescient enough to see this coming from months away.

THAT SAID…I am so entirely convinced that 99% of these guys are sticking with that pick because it’s been the consensus for so long, and because Atlanta is legitimately not leaking shit.

Draftsmas eve, as a Falcons fans who also happens to be a draft nerd, if I had to put money on it, I’m going Byron Murphy at 8.

  3. Look, I know we’re supposed to talk about the Falcons, but real quick, am I the only one who has not seen JC Latham going top ten in a single mock until now?

  4. Last year DJ got the first three picks right – including predicting the Texans trading back up for Will Anderson – but after that he only got four picks correct.

And getting 7/31 was considered very good!

Trades in particular can quickly derail any mock draft. DJ is good, but I have a feeling he’s finally going to miss predicting the Falcons’ selection this time around.

  5. Has Latu really fallen to 27th? Jesus. I know his injury affects his position but he should be higher imo

  6. Chop Robinson is the 2nd highest rated EDGE in this draft which despite not having impressive sack stats still makes sense as he’s raking in the highest QB pressures. He’s the highest ranked pass rusher. I assume Latu has fallen late due to inside buzz on medical concerns.

We still have to think if we can trade back it could be worth it for numerous reasons. LV will have interest in beating everybody to grab JJ and have a 2nd round pick to offer. Vikings and Broncos are also interested in fighting for JJ but have less to give up, but a 3rd round from this year and a high pick next year could be worth a swap. We’d still have choice of any of those later edge defenders.

  8. I think the pats are trading back and taking JJ McCarthy. Up here in NE all sports radio talks about is how everyone at patriots place lives JJ and how indecisive they are on drake. It may be a red herring but I can see that happening easily.
