Lakers overcame a 0-2 deficit in the 2004 semifinal against the defending champion Spurs.

Never say never.

  1. Lost first 2 games by 10 each and then blew spurs out game 3. Let’s see if history repeats itself 20 years later

  2. Give us 2004 Phil or at least an equivalent level coach and I would take the Lakers to win this series. But we have Ham, there will be no in game to game adjustments and there will be no in game adjustments

  3. I know many LBJ fans are going to downvote me, but as a long time Lakers fan I trusted Shaq/Kobe/Phil a lot more than I trust LeBron/Davis/Ham, it isn’t even close.

Phil Jackson went to the finals 13 times winning 11 titles. One may argue he had MJ, Shaq and Kobe, but I’d ask back, how many titles those players have won without Phil? A great total of 1 title Shaq won playing for another legendary head coach.

I can’t believe we managed to find a way to lose the game 2. I mean, at some point of the game we really had to make an effort to lose that game.

I told before the playoffs I had ZERO confidence in Dlo. He was good in play-in and had an incredible 1 half last game, but as a team I completely lost the confidence we have a shot to defeat Denver unless they lose a key player to injury. The body language, decision making and execution of this team isn’t one of a champion and as a basketball fan since 1980 I’ve seen a ton of great teams.

I’m already thinking about next season and I’m going to watch this game as a basketball fan just enjoying the great players on the floor for both teams without any expectations.

  4. LeBron was gassed playing ISO ball in the 4th. Awful strategy from Ham. No counter to defensive adjustments from the Nuggets.

  5. That team had the GOAT Phil Jackson with prime Kobe and still great Shaq.

This team has one of the worst coaches I’ve ever seen with 40 year old LeBron and prime AD who disappears offensively through long stretches (not entirely his fault)

  6. Am I going crazy, or did we lose that WCF against the spurs? The same series that fisher hit that 0.4 game winner. I thought we ended up losing that series but could be wrong

  7. How’re you going to compare prime Shaq and young Kobe to 31 year old AD and 40 year old LeBron. Age/stamina is literally the problem right now for the Lakers.

  8. I’d trust a bench that has Medvedenko, Rick Fox, and Kareem Rush over whatever the hell our bench is nowadays.

  9. I’ve said it everywhere else might as well repeat it here. As long as we’ve got LBJ we ain’t winning anything. He’s way too old and way too stubborn to realize it. We lost the last game starting in minute 9 of Q3 when LBJ decided he was going to take over the game, ignoring two insane games from DLo and AD to make sure we played long stretches of iso/no movement/let’s all watch LBJ ball so he can get the rest he needs from being ancient to try and play hero ball in Q4. Nobody wants to admit it to themselves because he can still do some incredible things; FOR A FORTY YEAR OLD, but he is absolutely the reason we fall to shit on the court every night in the 3rd. It’s been happening for 3 years now.

  10. I feel like the basketball gods were on our side then. Something happened in the last 5 years bro
