What is the most Falcon-esque pick we could make at 8th overall, tomorrow?

Based on Mock Draft Database historical data, the Falcons have gone completely against the grain 3 of the last 4 years besides drafting Pitts. Which was still a shocking and controversial at 8th overall.

How will TF shock the NFL world this time around?

  1. People will meme it, but I’d be excited if we got one of the top 3 WR prospects. Yes we 1,000% need edge, but you draft BPA in top 10. If we trade down, then I think we talk edge or Mitchell.

  2. Ignoring an available Adunze to DrAfT fOR nEEdS by getting an EDGE at 8 who busts or plays just okay, then realizing our offense wasn’t good enough to win anything outside a wildcard round, while getting shitty picks for the next 3 years.

  3. Brock Bowers. Am a fan of his, but it’d be from left field, BPA, and not at al fit a need we have.

  4. Bowers obviously, but I think trading up for a QB would be significantly worse

  5. Cooper Dejean.

The athletic testing he did was good. The part he missed we can attribute to his injury.

If his medicals check out and he’s worked out privately, I don’t think it’s too far-fetched to have him as the best defensive player in the draft (would be seen as a reach based on mock drafts).

  6. I would say Bowers, but he’s a Georgia player.

Dallas Turner would be typical Falcons pick. He’s another Jamaal Anderson.

  7. This old burn from the NFL forum still hurts… “You know it’s a Falcons draft pick when they start showing basketball highlights”

So I guess whoever the last person to learn football would be cause they have sooooo much potential.

  8. **Most Falcon-esque pick:** Fuck it, another RB or maybe another TE because we never, ever learn lessons.

**How will TF shock the world:** Hopefully he shocks us by not drafting like a drunken yahoo and instead focuses on CB or EDGE. It would certainly defy my expectations anyway.

  9. Would love Byron Murphy at 8. Would love a draft like this

    8. Byron Murphy DT, Texas

    43. Malachi Corley WR, WKU

    74. Renardo Green CB, Florida State

    79. T’Vondre Sweat DT, Texas

    109. Jonah Elliss DE, Utah

  10. Trade up for a generational WR

A high ceiling workout warrior edge rusher that’ll get washed out of the league in half a decade

A good to great OL that’s durable and will have a long career

    Consensus BPA regardless of position

  11. WR or Latu.

If they don’t take an EDGE that’s not Latu it’s a Falcons move.

  12. Tee Higgins just became available lol. Trading our 1.8 for him would be the most Falcons thing ATL could do.

  13. Rome Odunze.

No other team is more notorious for picking a skill position in the first round.

  14. I gotta say Latu. Talk ourselves into passing on the stud from Alabama for some west coaster because he’s got a history with our DC

  15. There is only one answer we reach hard for a QB and take Spencer Rattler at #8 and praise him as Ridder 2.0

  16. If you’re using [NFLMockDraftDatabase.com](http://NFLMockDraftDatabase.com), you need to filter on “One Week” (as in, mocks within one week of the draft) for the historical data to have any meaning. Otherwise you’re including lots of really old mocks that were done based on outdated info.

Bijan was our consensus pick last year. It was the worst kept secret in the world and definitely didn’t go against the grain. And in 2022 it was Wilson. Most people knew we were taking a WR. Picking London wasn’t really against the grain either.

  17. This inherently flawed rhetoric that “we shouldn’t take a high-caliber edge because he’s just one player and one player can’t single-handily improve defense” is the most asinine thing I’ve heard- THEN WHEN DO YOU START ADDRESSING THE WORST QB PRESSURE DEFENSE IN THE NFL OF THE PAST 6 YEARS? So we are looking for offensive accent pieces instead of formidable building blocks for a mediocre defense? Yall realize offense is only Half the Game right? What good is 33points if you are relinquishing 35?

  18. Pitts was 4th overall, no?

oh and i guess again WR. At least for me, necause i dont see how offense should be a problem like this right now so i would 100% trade down, i mean someone definetly will trade right? But well maybe im wrong and WR is the right move, idk
