#NFLVideos: Daniel Jeremiah’s FINAL 1st Round Mock Draft

Daniel Jeremiah’s FINAL 1st Round Mock Draft

transpires. But the Chicago
Bears, when they made that trade
I mean they made a hope that it
would be the number one pick.
But here we are. The Carolina
Panthers put this pick in their
lap and they get Caleb Williams
big time big time talent out of
USC. You thought you talk about
changing a culture and an
identity of an offensively
challenged football team. That’s
what Caleb Williams is going to
be able to do for the Chicago
Bears. Now some people will
question what he does from the
pocket. Can he play on time when
he’s protected? You see him deal
from within the pocket. The
ability to get over the top of
the defense. He’s got a huge
arm. He expands the field. This
arm talent is on display and all
these off platform throws. Watch
him snap his hip here against
UCLA when he’s rolling to his
left elite elite arm talent. He
might be as good at this.
Rolling to your left and
delivering the ball accurately.
As you’ll see this was his
introduction to us on the
national Stage CD rivalry game.
He steps in for Spencer Rattler
and leads Oklahoma back the
creativity. That’s his calling
card. We showed those twitchy
throws that he has, the home run
hitter. That can be both a good
thing and a bad thing. Yeah, and
probably it was a good thing at
USC because he had to bring his
team back, especially in 2023.
But one things DJ, as I look at
this and think about it so many
times when a quarterbacks pick
number one, a general manager
has to find a way to surround
him with talent. In this case,
he’s walking into a pretty
talented looking offense. You’re
talking about having D.J. Moore,
Keenan Allen, Cole Kmet, his
receivers. DeAndre Swift is a
runner. Offensive line got
better with Darnell Wright and
an underrated part of helping a
young quarterback give him a
good defense. Montez sweat came
over last year to rush the
passer. Two good linebackers in
Tremaine Edmunds, T.J. Edwards
and in the secondary, Jalen
Johnson at corner, Jaquan
Brisker at safety. That defense
played well over the last half
of last year. He walks into a
situation where they’re getting
better already and they’ll
continue to surround him with
more talent. Yeah, the defense
he played with last year was
tied for 123rd in points
allowed. So I think it’s safe to
say he’s going to enjoy this
bears defense. The one he had
told him. We’ll take care of you
a little bit better than that.
It’s a great foundation. If in
fact, Caleb Williams does go
there, that is what we all
assume at this point. Unless the
Bears and Ryan pulls pulls a
fast one on us tomorrow, we
shall see. But now we have the
commanders on the clock looking
to take a quarterback. Second
overall for the first time since
Robert Griffin, the third in
2012. Who’s going to be the pick
here? Will it be another Heisman
winner too? Well it’s
interesting you mentioned the
Heisman winner who went to
Washington RG three a little bit
of a narrow frame big time
athlete coming off a huge
season. I have him doing the
same thing here. Jayden Daniels
at LSU is a selection over Drake
Maye from North Carolina I think
Jayden Daniels is a little more
ready to play right now. His
tape this year in this past
season, there’s a reason why he
won the Heisman Trophy. He
played the best and that
includes Caleb off this past
season. He can make things
happen with his arm and then he
also has that ability when
things break down to take off
and go and use his athleticism,
it feels like he’s been college
forever. You look back, this is
Brandon Aiyuk, who he’s throwing
the ball to in a duel against
Justin Herbert. That’s where the
story began. This is where it
took off at LSU. The touch and
accuracy down the field,
marrying your feet and your
eyes. He does it beautifully.
You see him working backside on
this read. Putting that ball in
a position where you can run
with it. And I mentioned that
athleticism. You give him a
crease look that’s not against a
directional school. That’s the
University of Florida. That’s
real SEC speed. And he runs away
from the field KD very smooth.
He’s precise I say RG three.
It’s ironic that he ends up
going in the same place. And I
think people forget. RG Three’s
career was off to a heck of a
start before some injuries
derailed that run. And that’s
the big part of it because last
year Bryce Young came in at 204
pounds, but it was water weight.
He had to build himself up for
that. This young man, he may
look thin, but he’s 207 to 210.
And the big thing about his
running, he’s not running just
to pick up first downs. He’s
running to hurt you. You’re
talking about 60 to 80 yards
Anthony Richardson brought that
to the game for the Colts last
year. He’s not as big as Anthony
Richardson but he’s a better
thrower right now coming out.
Then you combine the running
ability and we’ll just make it
very simple Colleen he’s not
he’s not Michael Vick. He’s not
Lamar Jackson, but he’s the
closest to that coming out since
those guys were playing. That’s
a big reason why he’s going to
Washington. Dan Quinn’s a
defensive coach. He hates
quarterbacks who play like
Jayden Daniels, so he wants him
on his team. Yeah. And that
mobility will only help as they
continue to build up that
offensive line. They kind of
need a quarterback that has that
dual threat ability right now to
win and to build for the future.
All right. Let’s go to New
England now. Third on the clock.
And there are a lot of needs on
that roster. They could in
theory go in a lot of different
directions. But there is still
another Michigan quarterback
that they could take that’s
sitting out there. Perhaps
someone of the Chapel Hill
variety DJ. What do you think?
Well, I think they’re getting a
lot of phone calls with this
pick. And I think those phone
calls are coming from Minnesota
and those phone calls are coming
from the New York Giants. That’s
going to be their decision. I
have them sticking and picking.
You could look at them
potentially sliding back and
then maybe trying to get cute
and come back up and get, you
know, J.J. McCarthy, the fourth
quarterback. I think that’s on
the table. But usually when you
need a quarterback, as they do
and one is staring you in the
face like Drake Maye, you don’t
get cute. You stick and pick and
you upgrade the most important
position on the field. When you
look at Drake Maye in his game,
you start. First of all, this is
a big rugged guy who fits the
environment there in New
England. Power arm weather’s not
going to be an issue. He can
fight through whether he has a
big arm to be able to cut
through the wind, the touch and
accuracy could be spotty at
times, but when protected, you
see the ability to put the ball
where it needs to be. And here’s
some of that playmaking ability
the creativity. Unfortunately,
CD got a lot of opportunities
behind that offensive line to
show that off. Speaking of
creativity, how about the left
handed toss here for the
touchdown against Pitt? There is
so much upside with him because
of what he does as a thrower.
But then also an excellent
runner when you put his rushing
stats up against Jayden Daniels,
he’s in the conversation just in
terms of the production that he
had, big time size. I love that
he can throw with anticipation.
I put Jordan Love on there
because if you remember, Jordan
loves last year in college, the
supporting cast deteriorated.
His play went down a little bit.
I think you can make the same
case with Drake. May Patience
was required for Jordan love.
Patience will be required for
Drake. Maye. I like the
comparison. And you did talk
about the Michigan quarterback
that might be in consideration
there and J.J. McCarthy. But him
talk about Drake Maye going here
and doing this. Plus he doesn’t
have to play early. Jacoby
Brissett is there to be the
bridge quarterback and the
mentor right. He could be as
Mufasa. There for the young lion
coming in and having a chance to
play the other part of this is
this young man comes from an
athletic family. Dad was a
quarterback in North Carolina.
Might have been a major league
pitcher without a bad shoulder.
Brother won a national
championship. There in
basketball and he’s the
youngest. Colleen took a beating
from all the other ones. And
he’s a tough kid. A lot tougher
than what people know. So I like
the fact that he gets a chance
to go to New England and last
but not least, the old New
England. They might have
entertained these calls and made
a move. This is a new era. There
and I think they need to show
their fans. We’re starting off
with a new era. We start with a
quarterback and now they’ve got
Austin Fort. He will start
listening to offers officially
tomorrow when they are on the
clock. So what does Arizona do
here? DJ Well, again, I think
there could be there could be
opportunities to move back at
some point in time though.
You’re the Arizona Cardinals.
You need impact blue chip
players and you’ve got one at a
position of need staring you
right in the face. And Marvin
Harrison Jr. I believe they’re
going to stick. And I believe
they’re going to take him right
here with this. Pick someone who
feels like he’s been on the
radar for NFL teams for quite
some time. Everybody knows about
his father Marvin Harrison the
Hall of Famer. This is not the
same type of player, but he’s an
outstanding player. Bigger, more
physical. We go to the video, I
can show you what excites me
about him. You want to press
him, you want to get up there
and press coverage. He’s going
to Swat you away like a bug, and
he gets right on top and gets
his way into the end zone. The
run after catch. People were
worried about him not running a
40. Are you kidding me? Watch
him play. He’s got excellent
play speed, route, snap route,
polish, the ability to separate
and when he doesn’t separate, he
can climb the ladder and play
above the rim. Watch this catch.
Watch him snatch this ball and
bring it back. This is an elite
number one type receiver. You
think about that catch radius.
It’s going to make life easy on
your quarterback there in
Arizona. And Kyler Murray. And
it’s hard to find guys this big
and this smooth and this fluid
CD and DJ remember the Arizona
Cardinals last year on the
perimeter? Their wide receivers
were 31st or 32nd in yards per
ballgame. They couldn’t get
anything going out there. And
Kyler Murray is going to stand
up and applaud when this
happens. The difference between
Marvin Harrison, senior Marvin
Harrison junior dad was much
more like a shooting guard.
Yeah, this kid more like a small
forward because you mentioned
his ability to play above the
rim. He’s got all that going and
they need that type of a player
in Arizona to help unlock that
offense and get Kyler Murray
some space to be creative
underneath. And you mentioned
the catch radius and the body
type. It just reminds me of
DeAndre Hopkins when he was in
Arizona with Kyler Murray. And
we saw how that worked out when
the two were together. So Kyler
gets another DeAndre Hopkins
maybe better. Who knows. We’ll
have to see how it unfolds. But
before we get to the Chargers
pick D.J. at five. Just like a
real quick update here on new
head coach Jim Harbaugh, who
last fall he said if his
Michigan Wolverines went
undefeated, he’d get a tattoo
commemorating the accomplishment
well over the weekend, he made
good on his word. They’re saying
he’s impervious to pain while
getting inked. So DJ, did you
have a similar experience with
your tattoos and who’s the first
pick in the Harbaugh era? I did
think about getting a tattoo in
App State Beat Michigan. I
wasn’t even on that team, but I
decided not to, this is an
interesting one. This might
raise some eyebrows. JC Latham
is a great fit for them. He is a
right tackle. He plugs in at
right tackle. He is a big
mauler. Joe Ortiz was from
Auburn. He was with the Ravens
where they have a great
relationship through Ozzie
Newsome at Alabama. The Nick
Saban connection. It fits what
they want to do running the
football. This could be a
situation where they trade down
and take Latham. If somebody
wants to come up for a
quarterback, but I’m connecting
him with the Chargers. I was
surprised it wasn’t Joe Ault
there. Yeah. And Joe Ault is a
left tackle. This is someone
that plugs right in at right
tackle. You leave Slater alone.
That’s part of the thinking
there. You get to the New York
Giants. We’ve talked about J.J.
McCarthy potentially with them.
I think they were Drake Maye
team move up for Drake Maye. If
they don’t get Drake Maye I
think you look at wide receiver
and CD an explosive one and
Malik Nabers and he absolutely
fits with Brian Daboll. Loves
out of receivers that
explosiveness. The ability to
run with ferocity both before
and after the catch and the
competitive level. You have you
ever go to a Giants practice
watch Brian Daboll and his team.
They always have a competitive
period or something that wins
the day. Offense versus defense,
things of that nature. This is a
kid who’s going to want to be
out there for each one of those
competitive drills. He’s going
to say, coach, I got this. I’m
going to win this one. He scares
the heck out of defensive backs
just by how he blasts off the
line of scrimmage. And DJ he had
a polish with each year at LSU
on his route running. He got
better and better and better.
You see DJ Moore for what he
does after the catch. That’s
going to be a friend of the
quarterback there with the New
York Giants. We get to the
Tennessee Titans. This feels
pretty obvious. If Joe Alt is
there. They have a need at that
position. He’s a left tackle.
He’s a premier left tackle in my
opinion. They have the hole.
They have to fill it. I would
think they would be elated in
this scenario. With Joe Alt
still on the board. Yeah. The
only thing that would change
things with one of those top
receivers is there. But I do
think that Joe Walton, next to
last year’s number one pick,
Peter Skoronski, is exactly what
ran Carthon the GM wants to see.
He makes that nice move there.
All right. It’s time for our
annual tradition. We’re going to
talk pass rush. We’re doing it
with the Atlanta Falcons John
Abraham where have you gone? Yes
it’s been a minute. But we’re
going to fix it. We’re going to
go out there and get Dallas
Turner with his length, his
ability to turn the corner, his
ability to use that inside long
arm to generate some pressure.
And someone who ran in the four
fours is going to look extremely
fast. Playing on that surface.
He’ll be in a building he’s been
in before there in Atlanta as
well. Yeah Listen. And you’ve
got to go get a great player at
that spot. We’ve talked about
the John Abraham thing ad
nauseam. They thought they had
it with Vic Beasley had that one
monster year never came close to
repeating it. They’ve got to
have that guy with consistency.
Because this is a Falcons team
that believes they can win the
NFC South right here right now
Kirk Cousins on offense. Can
Dallas Turner help him out now
on defense I should say like I
can’t believe that I read this
stat. But like obviously this
has been such a need for so long
in Atlanta. But since 2020 the
Falcons have 23 fewer sacks than
any other team in the NFL since
2020. So it has been a need for
a very long time. Hopefully this
is the year that they get it
the first defensive player of
the draft at eight. With edge
rusher Dallas Turner. So we move
on here DJ now that means the
bears are back on the clock at
nine with their own original
pick here in this year’s draft,
their second pick in the top
ten. But after this, only two
picks remaining. Not a ton of
capital here. Pretty top heavy.
So do they trade down or do they
get some help here for Caleb
Williams? I didn’t want to get
to trade happy okay. There’s a
couple coming this very much
could be a trade. You look at a
team like New Orleans coming up
for an offensive tackle.
Possible. I have the bears
sticking. I think this pick will
service their first overall
pick. And he’s going to do it by
getting his high school teammate
Olu Fashanu, a left tackle from
Penn State. Yeah, he was high
school teammates with Caleb
Williams. This is an opportunity
with him and Darnell Wright
together to be those bookends
you can build with going forward
for the Chicago Bears here. You
see it back in high school.
That’s a big tackle for a high
school football team right
there. Yeah you got to grab him
as big as he is. You don’t need
to do that. You don’t need to do
that. But this to me they could
get a pass rusher. Absolutely.
But to me you’re running the
show here I need Caleb Williams
to be successful I want an
embarrassment of riches on the
offensive side of the ball. You
just gave Braxton Jones agita.
But it’s okay because now he
comes in left tackle Darnell
Wright at right tackle. You
build this football team. I pull
I reached out to a handful of
teams and I put those two
options there. Current option at
left tackle. And this scenario
in every single team said take
the tackle. And it’s a big it’s
a big topic in Chicago. And you
hear that answer a lot. No
question. Romijn’s it seems like
that is the most popular pick to
go with Caleb Williams. There at
nine. So I kind of like this
switch. New this new selection
there. All right. So the bears
doing all they can to set up
Caleb Williams for success in a
much more competitive NFC North.
Now that Kirk Cousins and Aaron
Rodgers have left the division.
You can speaking of Rodgers and
the Jets. They are on the clock
now at ten. So does he finally
get a first round wide receiver.
He’s always looking for that
skill position player. Does he
get it DJ this is not a fist
bump picking in the draft room.
This is a jump out of your
chair. Give somebody a hug. If
Rome odunze makes it to the New
York Jets. This is exactly what
they need. You go out and get
Mike Williams. Mike Williams
still recovering. Coming off of
injury. You’ve got a big time
dude in Garrett Wilson. We know
what you have in the backfield
with Breece Hall. They’ve
addressed to the they’ve
addressed the tackle position in
free agency. But this Charles
it’s my favorite player in the
draft in Rome Odunze I would
love to see him paired up with
Aaron Rodgers. And since you
mentioned all the different guys
who are already there, including
Tyler Conklin, go ahead and take
us through what he looks like as
a player. DJ yeah, he’s
complete. You’re not going to be
able to get after him at the
line of scrimmage. He’s too big,
he’s too strong, too strong. He
can go up and absolutely get it.
At the highest point, the speed
ran in the four fours. He plays
to it. He’s very smooth. I think
some people questioned his
speed. I know he’s a smooth
mover. He timed really well for
a big guy. He can sink his
weight, run crisp routes. This
is a this is an intriguing
collection of talent they have
now with the Jets. It certainly
is. You mentioned all these
different guys. They have they
hope to have Mike Williams back
for the season opener. Obviously
they want to get Aaron Rodgers
back after only four plays last
year. But also remember this
their starting tackles now would
be Tyron Smith at left tackle,
Morgan Moses at right tackle.
The pressure is on them so they
can keep Elijah Vera-tucker in
at guard and make sure Aaron
Rodgers stays upright to throw
to that collection of riches
downfield because they need to
get things off to a roaring
start in New York and get things
going in a doozy. That’s a big
time pick for them. Yeah, Brock
Bowers was such a popular pick
in so many mock drafts. Now this
changes so many things down.
Draft boards. I can’t wait to
see how these dominoes actually
fall and Colleen, if you’re
Roman Downs a you call Aaron
Rodgers immediately. Where do we
meet? What do you need to know?
What do you need from me.
Because he needs that trust
right out of the gate so they
can get going. All right. Let’s
go to Rodgers old division.
Let’s go to the Vikings up next.
And they didn’t trade up for a
quarterback here in your final
mock draft. They stayed pat at
11. So do they take advantage
with J.J. McCarthy and Michael
Penix Junior Bo Nix all still on
the board I think they’d be
comfortable with these five
quarterbacks and maybe they get
left. Maybe somebody jumps in
front of them to take one of
them. I think they’d be fine
with any of these guys at this
point in time. J.J. McCarthy
just falls right into their lap,
so they’re able to get someone
who can sit behind Sam Darnold.
There’s no rush to get him on
the field. J.J. McCarthy has
been one of the more polarizing
players in the entire draft. I
think all the ingredients are
there for him to be a solid
starting quarterback in thNFL.
As we go through and look at the
video, I can show you what I’m
talking about. Let’s start.
First of all, the arm strength
you heard about this at the pro
day was one of the better
quarterback pro days in talking
to those that were there. The
ball does jump out of his hand.
He can fit balls in tight
windows when given those
opportunities, you get some
pressure. He’s athletic enough.
He can create, make some things
happen outside of the pocket.
Here he is against TCU. That was
a game that really showcased
what he could do as a runner. So
when you’re watching him CD,
people will say, well they never
asked him to do it, so he can’t
do it. Those are two different
things. They were able to run
the ball, play defense, win a
national championship. He played
his role. I think he’s more
talented than a lot of people
out there in the public give him
credit for. As many adults told
me when I was a kid, can’t means
won’t. That’s not necessarily
true. I remember you saying last
year when we talked about C.J.
Stroud. Many people were
wondering what he could do and
wondering why they didn’t see
this before that big game
against Georgia in the College
Football Playoff. That’s why
it’s my comparison to C.J.
Stroud. For J.J. McCarthy, it’s
not apples to apples and playing
style. Daniel and Colleen, it’s
apples to apples. In terms of
the question marks going into it
, we haven’t seen J.J. McCarthy
carry a team. We haven’t seen
him throw it 50 times. We
haven’t seen him run it as much
as we think we should see him
run it. Well, C.J. Stroud had
all those questions and more,
and every one of them was
answered with an exclamation
point. We saw that the best
rookie quarterback we’ve seen in
a long time. I’m not saying
that’s exactly what J.J.
McCarthy is going to be, but all
those questions people are
asking are already on tape. Go
in and find them and then ask
him to do it at the pro level. I
think that he can and will and
Kevin O’Connell, the perfect
coach for him to go in there.
He’s a quarterback maker and
J.J. McCarthy has talked about
the fact that he’s grown up a
bears fan. So that’s going to
have to change real quick. That
wardrobe change like that. So
another quarterback off the
board and another quarterback
needy team is on the clock. Do
the Broncos take one here?
Despite trading for Zach Wilson
earlier this week last year we
broke precedence with this thing
and made trades. And it was so
much fun. We had a good time
with it. Why don’t you like fun
anymore? Let’s let’s have some
fun. Okay everybody told me that
the Philadelphia Eagles want to
move up. Everybody’s told me
that the Denver Broncos, who
don’t have a ton of picks, would
like to move back. So let’s make
this thing happen. The
Philadelphia Eagles, they come
up to the 12th overall pick.
They end up having to part with
a second and a fifth to make
this happen. With the 12th pick
corner they take a corner. No
they’re going to take they’re
going to take Fagoaga here to
see who can plug in at right
guard year one. And then
eventually when Lane Johnson
ever decides to hang him up, you
can kick him out to right
tackle. You look at Howie
Roseman’s moves over the past
three drafts. He’s traded into
that first round, and he’s
always a year ahead in terms of
drafting people and redshirting.
We’re 12 picks into Daniel
Jeremiah’s final mock draft of
the season, and number
rolling around to lucky number
13 DJ. The Raiders it’s their
time to shine. They didn’t move
up for a quarterback in your
mock and their patients though
it could pay off right here
right now. So who will Tom
Telesco and Antonio Pierce
choose for their maiden voyage
together? They swung for the
fences in this one to try and go
get Jayden Daniels. Just not
able to get it done. So they
still do need a quarterback. And
at this point in time in the
draft, Michael Penix makes all
the sense in the world. This is
someone with probably the
biggest arm in the draft. When
you just want to watch him throw
side by side, it looks like he’s
throwing a Nerf ball. He’s got
those huge hands. He just
swallows a football and delivers
babies outside the numbers and
over the top. So the Raiders to
me this is a clear upgrade over
their current roster. When you
look at Gardner Minshew and you
look at Aidan O’Connell, no
offense to those two guys, but
as you see in this video here,
this is a different level of a
thrower attacking vertically,
getting over the top. This is
all against Texas. This was a
big time game for him. The
pocket movement, which you
questioned, he shows you he does
have that ability. Didn’t do it
often, but he absolutely did it
in this game. Here he is finding
Odunze down the field. You can’t
throw it better than that.
Dropping that one beautifully in
the bucket. How about this laser
shot? The windows shrink when
you get down inside the red
zone. Can you work in the middle
of the field? He beats the
defender with the throw because
of that arm strength. The arm as
good as it gets in this draft
class, the comparison at the
bottom will freak people out. As
a thrower, the way the ball
comes off of his hand remind me
of Joe Flacco and Justin Herbert
. Just how the ball spins like
this dude can chuck it. He has
got a cannon and those types of
guys. The last thing they’ll
ever do on this earth, they’ll
be 90 years old before the
coffin closes. They’ll uncork
150 yards. Those kind of arms
never change. Right. And the DNA
of the Raiders franchise is big
arm guys throwing the football
downfield from Daryl the Mad
Bomber. Lamonica threw Kenny
Stabler throwing those deep
shots. Cliff branch running,
running routes Warren Wells
running routes. Al Davis may not
be there, but Mark Davis still
owns the team and that’s a heavy
influence there. The key now
Daniel, if they get Michael
Penix they’ve got to get people
who can go out and get it.
Davante Adams is a terrific
receiver, but you’re talking
about guys who can flat out fly
as Raiders DNA. They’ve got the
quarterback to do it now. Now
they’ve got to go surround him
with those guys. Fleet footed.
Who can go get it Michael Penix
Jr and Gardner Minshew together
in a camp battle, at least on
the field training camp. Get me
to back together Saturday. I
can’t wait for this. So five
quarterbacks go in the first 13
picks, according to mock draft.
So now the Saints are on the
clock at 14. Who’s heading to
Nola? Well, the Saints have a
screaming need, maybe as much as
any team in the draft. One team,
one need. It is offensive
tackle. We talked about the
University of Washington. We
just showed all those fancy
Penix highlights. The guy
protecting him. This left
tackle, Troy Fontano. He steps
right in for the Saints. He can
start at left tackle. Really has
five position flexibility CD
he’s got the athleticism to play
all the way across the line.
Yeah. If he goes to another team
they may want to use him at
guard. But he’s a solid player
who’s going to take over. Be
able to play right away. Whether
you play him at tackle or guard.
We’ll get to the Indianapolis
Colts here at 15. There you go.
People wondering where Brock
Bowers is going to go. He’s a
top ten player. Top ten talent.
It’s about finding him the right
home. My comparison for him was
Dallas Clark with a jet pack
strapped to his back. So let’s
give him number 44 in
Indianapolis. And let’s cut this
dude loose with Anthony
Richardson. I can’t wait to see
how he fits in with an NFL
offense. Big time explosive
weapon. This will surprise
people. Everybody assumes, oh,
you’ve got Rick Woolen. You go
out and do what you did last
year with Devin Witherspoon.
They’re done at corner. They
have been doing a lot of work on
corners to me with Terrion
Arnold. He can play inside. He
can play outside. Mike McDonald
is going to want versatile chess
pieces. Terry and Arnold gives
you that. And also gives you the
toughness and physicality to go
along with it. Can’t you moved
Evan Witherspoon inside the
nickel and that’s where he is.
Yeah, that’s where he is. Keep
him and you’re done. So you get
Terrion Arnold there on the
outside. Now we get to the
Jacksonville Jaguars. One of the
most fun players to watch in
this draft class. Kenyan
Mitchell aced the process out of
Toledo. Turned down big money.
Could have gone on to transfer
portal. He stuck it out. He went
to the Senior Bowl. Was dominant
there. The best man cover corner
in the draft. He lands with the
Jacksonville Jaguars. We get to
pick number 18. This is a player
we could see go up there in the
top ten Byron Murphy is in play
at eight. He is in play at nine.
In this scenario he falls right
into the lap of the Cincinnati
Bengals who by the way CD is
there anybody that doesn’t want
to get traded on the Cincinnati
Bengals in the last 24 hours?
And Lou Anarumo, the defensive
coordinator, wants someone who
wants to stay and play, and he
needs a big time defensive
tackle DJ reader now in Detroit.
And this is an upfield
penetrator. Gets you a lot of
pressure from that defensive
tackle position. Again this is a
steal. If he’s there at this
portion of the draft. He also
scored two goal line touchdowns
last year. So maybe he can help
out with that red zone offense
in a pinch. Well apparently if t
if T Higgins wants out and then
you’ve got a pass rusher that
wants out as well. And Trey
Hendrickson maybe he does have
to be in the really, really,
really heavy package. All right.
So DJ I still don’t even believe
this to be true. The Rams are on
the clock at 19 with their very
own first round pick for the
first time in eight years. Can
you believe it? Pinch me. It
hasn’t been since GM Les Snead
and then head coach Jeff Fisher
selected Cal quarterback Jared
Goff. First overall in the Rams
first season in Los Angeles.
That feels like eons ago. So
long ago. So, DJ, when you look
at what the Rams can do here,
they can go in a lot of
different directions. So where
are they going? It’s been a
while since they’ve been to the
first round. And I have him
getting lost on the way there
because I have him trading, I
have him trading out. They
finally get up their picks. Why
are you taking this away from us
collecting now? We’re collecting
picks. They’ve done such a good
job outside of the first round.
They can find value. The
commanders, they own the 36th
and 40th picks. There’s a way
you can get creative, right
here. If you’re the Rams to come
away with a nice little haul,
you look at the commanders, you
take Jayden Daniels with the
second pick. They are not
equipped to protect him right
now. They need a left tackle to
me. You go out and you get Mims.
This run on tackles is going to
happen early. So that’s why I
have them making that move. We
get to pick number 20. The
Pittsburgh Steelers speaking of
tackles they go out and get
Guyton Tyler Guyton from
Oklahoma. Ironically him and
Mims go back to back because
every team has had this debate
and discussion. Who do you
prefer in these two guys? Both
raw. Both haven’t played a ton
of ball. Both have elite elite
traits to be tackles in the NFL.
That gives Broderick Jones over
to left tackle in Pittsburgh.
Yeah, and there you go. And
you’re you’re you’re off and
running. We get now to the Miami
Dolphins. What’s the name of
that man Christian Wilkins,
yeah. He’s no longer there. So
you’re going to have to replace
him. He’s kind of a he’s kind of
a good player. So you go out to
the University of Illinois,
Johnny Newton, big time, big
time upfield. Penetrator
Disruptor. You see it right
here. His ability to close and
finish as good as it gets from a
defensive tackle. He’s plug and
play as a starter for the Miami
Dolphins. How about Washington
getting the tackle to go with
the quarterback like Atlanta did
with Matt Ryan. When they got
Sam Baker? That’s right. Great
call. And you just mentioned the
hog mollies. So after Denver
trades back ten spots with
Philly, w they are now on are ne
clock. Sean Payton he’s done his
homework on these quarterbacks
as he always does. So where does
he go with this pick. Does he
get his guy at 22. A couple
things they I don’t believe they
want to take a quarterback at
12. So you’re able to trade back
get a little value there. I also
don’t believe that the acquiring
Zach Wilson is going to preclude
you from taking a quarterback.
So I haven’t traded back 22. I
am taking a quarterback out of
Oregon and Bo Nix, this is
someone that just feels like a
Sean Payton quarterback when you
watch him quick decisions,
accurate. Take care of the
football. All all the checklist
of a Sean Payton quarterback CD.
You see it here with Bo Nix.
Yeah and a lot of Drew Brees
comparisons because of that. You
know that style of play and what
we saw at Oregon versus what we
saw at Auburn. And the
improvement I feel like DJ when
you talk about Bo Nix, you talk
about a guy who wins a lot in
pre-snap, sees the off season
defense, knows where he wants to
go with the ball. Thus is able
to be decisive and get it to the
right people at the right time.
I see you’ve got him Tua
Tagovailoa as a comparison and I
totally get that same exact
thing. Not a huge arm, but an
accurate arm, a precise arm, 45
touchdowns last year, three
interceptions. That speaks
volumes. Man has started a lot
of football games 61 games in
college. Correct. So the Senior
Bowl 62. Let’s get to the
Minnesota Vikings with the 23rd
overall pick. Remember they
didn’t have to part with this
pick. They got the quarterback
in McCarthy at 11 here. They get
a big time edge rusher in chop
Robinson continue to add to this
defense. They lost some pieces
to Neil Hunter among them in the
off season. They are able to get
a big time big time explosive
player in chop Robinson. Let’s
get to the Dallas Cowboys.
Graham Barton out of Duke played
left tackle last year. But you
go back to his freshman season.
He played center. That’s the
position I believe is best for
him in the NFL. Plug and play
starter for the Dallas Cowboys.
They’re at 24. Let’s keep it
rolling to 25 of the green Bay
Packers on the clock Cooper
Dejean I believe when you look
at his ability as a returner,
the new rules help a guy like
this. He can be your big nickel.
Some teams believe he’ll kick
back and end up being a safety.
Others believe he can hold up at
corner. To me, I love him in
that big nickel role and I love
him returning some kicks and
adding some value on special
teams. Let’s get to 26 with the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Let’s keep
the pass rush theme going. You
saw just a minute ago with Chop
Robinson. Here you have Jared
verse Jared verse. This is big
time value from where I have him
rated KD. I know you’re a fan of
his his power and his ability to
rush the quarterback as well. A
nice tremendous value here for
Jason Light and the Tampa Bay
Bucs. I really like his effort
as well. He’ll throw one move,
throw a second move and a third
one. And how about this? A lot
of people think Latu Latu might
go higher here. You’ve got him
going down to the Cardinals.
That’s got to be a steal for
them. His name comes up at
number eight. You think about
his college coach where he
started at the University of
Washington Jimmy Jimmy Lake. He
is there with the Falcons. So
there’s a wide range and a lot
of it’s based off of the
medical. That’s a wild variance.
And if that does happen that
means that the Cardinals would
alarms everybody. So DJ the
bills they shipped off Stefon
Diggs. He’s no longer in Buffalo
now what direction will they go
with that wide receiver
position. So deep in this draft
Gabriel Davis gone as well. They
get a wide receiver literally
fell right into their lap. And
Brian Thomas Jr this is a
scenario where because of the
depth of the class you could see
the wide receiver start to slip.
Once the big three go this is a
home run pick. Literally one of
the fastest guys in the draft
can get over the top. Big time,
big time athlete, a nice
addition and fit right there
with Josh Allen. Let’s keep it
rolling here. Let’s get to the
29th pick with the Detroit
Lions. The hometown team. They
have done a ton of work on
corners talking around to
colleges that have the top
corners in this class. I asked,
who’s the team that’s been doing
the most work. The Detroit Lions
come up over and over and over
again. Speaking of corners,
let’s get to 30 KD the Baltimore
Ravens. They love guys that can
go nose and nose play man
coverage as well. Free up to be
able to send those exotic
blitzes. Wiggins is a pure cover
corner. He’s as smooth in
coverage as any corner in the
draft. He can flat out fly the
fastest corner at the combine in
the 40 yard dash. And when you
look at the Ravens last year,
had a ton of injuries back there
at the corner position. Battled
their way through. They
definitely want a 4 to 5. The
secondary. Yeah. Added a little
bit of weight to it. His pro day
which was good to see. After
weighing a buck 73 at the
combine. We get to 31. How about
this fit here with the 49 ers
Xavier Worthy. Not only the
fastest player in this draft.
The fastest player in any draft
broke the record there at the
combine Kyle Shanahan. This is
my theory with this pick. He
watches his buddies who run his
system. He watches those guys in
Miami who fly around, and then
he pops on Slowik his buddies
tape down in Houston, he goes,
this tank, Dell. I could do
something with a receiver like
this. Xavier Worthy gets to fill
that role for Kyle Shanahan. All
he’s done is super speed up his
ball club. Okay, you guys have
an answer for what we’re trying
to do. You think you’ve got that
with Debo beating you up. And I
uke that way I’ll get a faster
guy catch him. We got one more
receiver. We got a yeah one more
receiver to come off the board
here. 32 Kansas City Chiefs last
pick Super Bowl champs AD
Mitchell Adonai Mitchell you
watch him early in his career at
Georgia. You saw it late in his
career at Texas. Big big plays.
Go climb the ladder play above
the rim and legit four three
speed. Hey, what do you know?
Speed. Size athleticism the
Kansas City Chiefs Patrick
Mahomes it’s a good fit. Yeah
it’s a it’s a love letter to
Patrick Mahomes who’s made good
over the last two years. Plus
the uncertainty of the Rasheed
Rice situation. So back to back
Texas receivers close out Jase
mock draft here. And they go to
