  1. Not sure whether this is post is upset about Wheeler being first (we shouldn’t be) or about Webb not being listed (we absolutely should be).

Wheeler is on his second team and it’s more than a decade after we traded him for (an albeit unsuccessful), playoff run. Pitching prospects flame out a dime a dozen, and Wheeler had enough injuries that the Mets didn’t want to extend him. I’m happy he’s killing it but not a critique of the Giants moving him at all.

Webb should definitely be on here and there’s such a bias towards power/strikeout pitchers. I get those guys are exciting but in terms of effectiveness Webby has absolutely been top 10.

  2. Bad list- no Logan Webb.

But now i’m wondering if Farhan should have went harder on Glasnow, rather than Snell…

  3. Webb absolutely should be in the top ten, but also I get it—he’s not a “power pitcher” he’s just a work horse rock solid ground ball quality start machine with a super high floor. Yeah these dudes get lots more K’s but also give up bombs and don’t go as deep into games.

  4. Why does anyone give a shit about this stuff? Just be happy webby is crushing it, fuck the rest.

  5. I wonder if Wheeler would’ve stayed with us up until now. That trade for Beltran seems so long ago.

  6. I’m convinced these power rankings have become purely rage bait to spark engagement. That or the org just doesn’t care that the idiot in charge is an idiot who is unaware of the West coast. The only reason Cease is on there is he was in Chicago last year and Glasnow is teammates with the league’s new golden boi.

  7. These lists are always dogshit it’s crazy. Even hicks is 7th place for ERA in the league right now. What do these guys even base the list off of.

  8. Um. Let people sleep in Webb. Adds fuel to his fire. Keep him off this list the whole year as far as we should care. Results are what matter.

As with all lists like this, they use stats that are reliant on factors more than the pitcher themselves. Wins probably factor in, and that is heavily dependent on run support as much as pitcher ability. If we really want him on this specific list, our offense needs to step it up.

TLDR: Who cares. Let people NOT see Webb coming. Only helps us.
