  1. According to the beat reporters – Wennberg is out for maintenance, and Vince has stated “there’s no indication at this point that Wennberg is in jeopardy of missing Game 3.”

  2. Laviolette isn’t likely to change up the lineup with us up 2-0. I also doubt he’s in a rush to get Chytil on the ice against a bad team whose best hope is to get great goaltending out of Lindgren plus some goals off PPs. We’ve seen how Oshies been with Panarin. They’d target Chytil 100% and you’d probably have to take Rempe out of the lineup to make it work.

  3. Wouldn’t be shocked if Wenny is fighting something. He hasn’t pressured the puck as well these first two games

  4. If the hurricanes win the series, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Chytil and possibly Brodzinski in the lineup. If the islanders get through then I think maybe just Chytil will be the change. Who those guys sub in for exactly will be the question but you have to imagine the bottom three in rotation would be Chytil, Brodz, and Rempe. I doubt they are taking Goodrow or Vesey out for what they’re showing on PK and 5v5 lately.

  5. Just probably wanting to look at him in different roles since he only played what? Less than 20 games this year? I wouldn’t expect to see him until the rangers need some kind of spark. Maybe game 5 at the earliest depending on how these next two go.

That being said I would hate to see Kakko be the scratch to make room for Chytil.

  6. I doubt Chytl touches the ice this series, regardless of whether he’s ready to go. We’ve been winning games with the current roster and Washington has really started ramping up the physicality and dirty play. Not worth risking reinjury when we’re up 2-0.

That being said I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the second round, presumably against Carolina.

  7. The spot that makes some sense might be Roslovic’s on the top line. I can’t see Wennberg being scratched. Running three forward pairs on the PK has been huge. Lav has said this himself. I can’t see them moving away from that.

  8. I thought Will had some bad moments late in game 2. He’s been bringing the physical play, but I said out loud he could earn a scratch for Chytil

  9. i don’t agree that just because they’re up 2-0 they won’t/shouldn’t change the lineup. rempe looked LOST in game 2. he demonstrated no interest in playing the puck including a play that directly lead to the capitals second goal, nearly took a number of bad penalties that could’ve easily been called, and generally looked bad and slow.

i thought they were going to bench him for g3 before even seeing that chytil news tbh.

that being said, i wouldn’t bench him for chytil considering the headhunting we’re expecting from washington.

  10. i actually assume this means wennberg is in good shape and chytil is at a point where he needs to do more than just skate/be an extra at practice to progress.

all good news in my headcannon

  11. I would not put filip on the ice against these desperate bastards, I don’t trust them

  12. getting through the canes logjam in the middle will require more dump and chase than the group has done the rest of the season. fil brings speed and very rested legs to the lineup. if we can go up 3-0 tomorrow night, i think fil replaces rempe and plays his same 7 minutes to get him some time on ice before the next round
