Fuck Booker and KD's feelings. They are paid 50 million to follow orders. Vogel needs grow a pair and tell them to start chucking. Suns are times are seeking way too open 3s. If you watch Mavericks, Luka attempts many contested ones. Once again, the math.

Vogel doesn’t strike me as the type to put his foot down but with the shots we take late into the shot clock and letting the wolves outrun them + the fact they can have 2 of the stars on the court at all times, they absolutely should be taking more shots. Especially Beal. And going a little bit more 7sol
We keep glossing over him wanting to play 5-out.
Also chucking a bunch of threes doesn’t equate to winning. Otherwise the Nets, Hawks, and Kings would be in the playoffs. You need to generate good looks.
I don’t work in sales. But I work in a business dependent upon outside salespeople calling on clients regularly. The management and business consultant types always say the same thing. The more calls (contacts with business owners/decision makers) you make, the more you will sell.
This is the same thing. Can’t make ‘em if you don’t try ‘em.
This team is frustrating and perplexing.
One thing I think is cool about shooting 3s is that there is significant statistical evidence that volume matters more than percentage. In other words, the benefits of shooting lots of 3s still occur EVEN IF you don”t shoot a good percentage. Even the worst 3pt shooting teams see a significant benefit when they shoot more of them.
I’ll also add that the small downside is that single game anomalies where nobody makes any happens more often than teams who rely on shots closer to the basket, and it costs the team more points. In other words, on the occasional nights where nobody has it, you get absolutely slaughtered. In the playoffs this can be extra dangerous and it’s one of the things you just gotta hope doesn’t mean elimination.
It’s a problem when it took our guy 9 years to hit over 6 threes in a game.
Fuck threes. Low percentage garbage shots are not the answer. Moving the ball, avoiding the iso crap, and playing some fucking defense are the keys.
And if we had a center that didn’t miss a dozen layups every night, and actually defended the paint, it would help a ton.
