  1. EXACTLY. Look at any of his past coaching tenures and show me where an elite offensive line wasn’t the core of a successful team. It’s not a sexy pick but it’s efficient as hell

  2. I’m okay with Alt.

Tbh, I wanted exciting football and a WR would do that. But you know what, wtf do I know. All I know is Chargers football.

  3. I don’t exactly “hate” it, but when there’s a guy like Nabers on the board, it stings to pass up on him. Especially when you have a top 5 QB that’s throwing to a WR3 and a 2nd year player that had a less than optimal rookie season.

Trusting that they’ll find a gem WR in the later rounds.

  4. I wanted Nabers.

    I’m happy with Alt.

    Both can be true.

I.also have faith that management will make good decisions.

  5. You should’ve been rooting for Kellen Moore over Jim Harbaugh if you were gonna throw a fit when we beefed up our trenches.

  6. Telesco left this team with trash contracts, trash depth, and a trash oline that couldn’t run block to save their lives (and was so easily exploited in pass rush it was comical). He left foundational pieces unaddressed in favor of finesse and skill players for too long. You can’t chase the WR if the oline sucks ass and the QB has no time to throw and plays don’t have time to develop.

  7. It just is a weird fit with Alt at LT. but honestly it’s better to draft a Tackle in Round 1 and a WR round 2 than vice versa.

  8. I’m at peace with Joe Alt, in the press conference Harbaugh said Alt was the unanimous pick available. Good enough for me

My only concern going into this is that the ravens have been historically awful at drafting WR’s. It was only a few years ago that they were in the headlines over calling out their own ability to draft quality WR1’s to the point where Rashod Bateman had to defend himself publicly.

Kinda hoping for JPJ or a CB for our 37th pick. And to trade next years 3rd or 4th rd pick for Deandre Hopkins (going off Keenan, same age going for a 4th) and his $13m contract

  9. Weren’t we all talking about Coach being a run first guy? Most people like flashing stuff. It’s the reason why politicians don’t run on “lets fix our infrastructure”. Let people be mad it means nothing.

  10. If we take a tackle in the first after paying pumpkins I’m gonna put a pocket knife thru my foot

The remindme bot kindly sent this to me tonight

  11. Alt is an absolute stud. He did well blocking blind side and iirc he’s played some TE before. So transition to RT shouldn’t be a big issue. He will help protect Herbert as well as create some big holes for our run game. The run game may become elite. Consider OL is deep in this years draft and I feel they’re going to fill depth with some more studs and use next years 1st which may become a very late pick or pretty much a 2nd round if you catch my drift to trade for a receiver like Tee Higgins as he wants out stat.

There’s also Brenden Rice, Roman Wilson and other great WR on the board that could be had 3rd and later.

    In Harbaugh I trust.

  12. Knowing that Adonai, Ladd, and Keon Coleman are still available while the tackles flew off the board makes me like the Alt pick even more

  13. All I can think about is every game one of those more physical teams ran it down our throats, and we couldn’t do shit about it.. and now we’re that team. Love it. OL is never sexy to draft but winning games by making dudes on the other team just want to quit will be fun to watch.

  14. I would be thrilled if we needed a LT. Taking a LT to play RT at 5 comes with more risk.

  15. I didn’t want Nabers. He is kinda a niche slot player. Not really an outside WR. I think QJ is going to be the team’s WR3. They can still sign a vet for WR1.

  16. Remember when Maxx Crosby punked Storm Norton?

Remember when Pipkins got injured and Nick Bosa switched sides to tee off on Sarell?

Remember going to OT vs the Titans and watching an absolutely disgusting offensive possession?

Remember losing 8 games last year by 1 score because we simply get blitzed and Herbert had no time despite having Keenan Allen?

Remember wasting Rivers’ last years with Sam Tevi and other assorted turnstiles, hoping Forrest Lamp would become something?

I was the biggest Nabers truther, but now I’m all in. I wouldn’t be mad if we got JPJ or Frazier with #37. We’d have 4 first round talents, 1 bonafide All-Pro + 2 possible All-Pros, another first round talent (Zion) and our weak link is Salyer whose average, with upside given good coaching (Harbaugh) and conditioning (Ben Herbert). We’re negating tens of millions of dollars of opposing pass rushing talent (Chris Jones/Watt/Bosa, etc) with mostly rookie contracts. It’s a win in all ways.

And whose to say when we have to move on from Bosa or Khalil with cap space to burn (and CeeDee doesn’t extend) that we don’t splurge for a true WR1 in that way? Trust the process. Harbaugh is bringing us a Superbowl sooner rather than later.

  17. I think a majority of us are all happy with WHO we got. Just not exactly where we picked, and who we missed out on. Some possibile generational receivers still on the board. But the biggest thing is we still don’t have any great receivers for Herbert

  18. Am I the only one that would be okay getting Kool aid if if he’s still there in 4 picks ?

  19. I’ve said it once and I’ll keep saying it, THEY DONT KNOW BALL, love the pick let’s go bolts

  20. I feel like they did the responsible option over the fun option. I personally wanted the fun option but I’m trusting the process and will root like hell for Alt

  21. I don’t hate the pick.

I mean I completely understand and think its the right pick long term.

But I am still a bit disappointed because a speed demon like Nabers would have absolutely caused chaos in the offense. However, I also do realize in recent years there are usually good WRs available in Round-1 and Round-2. So, Chargers can still get some good ones there.

    And, I am still HarBOUGHT!

  22. would have been cool to have a receiver but at the end of the day, if you can’t protect herbie, a receiver doesn’t matter. get this man a killer o-line and let him cook

  23. Not sexy but anyone who’s watched Harbaugh’s teams knows its the smart move. All that matters is Ws

  24. Where are all these Charger fans that are upset with the pick? I keep seeing this all over social media and yet don’t see it anywhere. We want this!

  25. They said Alt was #1 overall on their board. That means they think he is going to be a homerun pick. That means he was the BPA based on their evaluation. Now, we get to wait and see if they evaluated him and there they will draft well. People freaking out before even seeing the team hit the field are just being negative for the sake of being negative.
