#NFLVideos: Picks 21-32: Chiefs Draft the Fastest Man Alive & Hometown Team Gets Their Guy

Picks 21-32: Chiefs Draft the Fastest Man Alive & Hometown Team Gets Their Guy

[Applause]
okay with the 21st pick in the 2024 NFL
draft the Miami Dolphin select chop
Robinson linebacker Penn
State
going they kept it simple this is a this
is a need as Charles referenced and this
is a fast ball off the edge in chop
Robinson we saw it at the combine how
fast he was he ran 448 at 254 lbs we
always talk about these Penn State guys
they’re all explosive athletes we see it
every year in Indianapolis there James
Franklin in there there he is yeah we
are here we go explosive a little bit
raw as a pass thrusher the production
wasn’t necessarily there but the
disruption was he created a lot of chaos
with his penetration his ability to win
in one-on-one opportunities here he is
getting to the top of the rush not only
does he finished with a sack he’s able
to get the ball out that First Step his
name is chop ironically he takes those
quick little choppy steps I think if he
length lengthens that out a little bit
he’ll even be more devastating at the
next level very sudden wins early in the
down with that quickness again you saw
it there he doesn’t get the sack but he
caused the sack and then in the Run game
just shooting gaps using his quickness
to play there you know there are there
are players that you got to be aware of
on the opposite side of the ball and
then there are players that actually you
have to actively game plan against he’s
one of those guys you go back to the
michig game chop Robinson beat their
tackle so badly on the first two third
Downs of the game Michigan abandoned the
passing game abandon it why did Michigan
run the ball 32 straight times against
Penn State because of that man right
there he totally affected the game and
they had to totally abandon throwing the
ball with a guy who was a first round
draft pick quarterback that’s how good
he is they went from drop back to quick
game to movement to then Sher Mor said
Yeah
just they went they went jumbo plus
because Trent Jones came in on every
snap after that to help protect against
him but remember chop Robinson had AA
Isaac on the opposite side we’ll see him
come off the board probably tomorrow
night know the chop for the short choppy
steps short for pork chop just call him
chop this way but the one thing he has
to do as well get stronger in that upper
body because you know he’s got to get on
the ground Josh Allen in the AFC East
good luck doing that because remember
Ben rothberger you couldn’t get him on
the ground remember they used to say it
wasn’t the first 3 seconds of a play it
was the next three seconds that hurt you
and Josh Allen can do that that’s why
they drafted him and you also got to get
to Aaron Rogers you know who’s protected
by his college teammate now now he he
gets a battle Olu fashu there and maybe
we’ll see Drake May at some point at the
end of the season now all of a sudden
these quarterbacks in that AFC East you
better get after them and they’re
big-sized
quarterback with the 21st pick in the
2024 NFL
draft the Miami Dolphin select chop
Robinson linebacker Penn State somebody
have at it Bucky you nailed it yeah
somebody Lil birdie was over there
talking but no um the Miami Dolphins
need to have an established pass because
injuries wiped him out last year sh
Robinson is a developmental Prospect
even though we’re talking about a first
round talent but this dude’s explosive
he’s Dynamic he’s an A+ athlete but now
he needs to put it together and turn
that potential into production but you
see it on tap it it shows it pops on the
screen firstep quickness burst finishing
skills he has it just need to see the
consistency from him yeah he’s got that
Von Miller Bend to him in the ankles and
the knees where he can get low low low
it is not a problem at all for him uh
but he’s just not a skilled rusher right
now I mean he is he is an elite athlete
Micah Parson’s level athlete the problem
is you know Micah came over from
linebacker they put him at end he had
had some some background in Miami and
there you see I mean at defensive end
and chop is excited let me tell you what
chop Robinson has he has athletic gifts
that you simply cannot coach the problem
is right now he doesn’t know how to rush
the passer I say that with all due
respect but that can come with more work
but Bucky this is very much uh a
position of traits and ability meets a
need because of the injuries that they
have substantial injuries to chub and to
Jaylen Phillips where both those guys
are going to try to come back this year
but it may not happen for those guys
right away may not happen for those guys
right away and even if they do come back
in today’s game game you got to have
three rushers you got to have three
players that you can have in rotation so
you put him in rotation as a first year
player maybe he’s just a situational
rusher comes in on nickel and then you
hope that he’s able to ascend to being a
full-time starter but his best football
is ahead of him he has the traits then
you have to take that talent and see if
you can somehow turn it into consistent
production off the edge boy I you know
I’ve seen him up close in personal last
couple of years watching Penn State and
I mean he can be a bit of a a game end
too with the way that he could provide
that pressure that concept I mean you
watched that Michigan game he was all
over the field early on in that game and
against a pretty dang good now look they
were they had to account for some
injuries offensive line wise but um you
know he’s played against some good
competition there at Penn State the sack
production as you said not is minimal at
this point in terms of a first round
type of player but you hope that he
finds that gear right finds that finish
that polish with the 22nd pick in the
2024 NFL draft the Philadelphia Eagles
select Quon Mitchell defensive back
to
baby well they got the corner that they
wanted in quinan Mitchell and I
mentioned earlier guys that go through
the whole process and Ace every part of
it fall season check senior bll check
combine check interviews with teams
check straight A student here in quinan
Mitchell guys and think about this you
mentioned loyalty I think you mention
mentioned it as well Joel different guys
staying right DJ you pointed out that
quinan Mitchell had the chance nil to go
play Power five and make big money
stayed one other little small detail
they wore number 27 at Toledo he wanted
to get to a single digit like so many
guys do and he earned his way to a
single digit his grandmother said son if
27 was good enough to make you play the
way you did before 27 is good enough for
you now he kept 27 no nil money kept the
number he didn’t want to keep ated
Toledo and turned into one of the top
draft picks in the NFL this year speed
to burn and you mentioned the strength
Joel he’s got it all and he just
resilient you think about the
development he was the
159th Corner Prospect coming out in
recruiting he was the 253rd player in
the State of Florida and here he is a
first round draft pick out of Toledo I I
love that type of story and the
determination that it shows that he’s
had in development over the last four or
five years and you know you got to be
pretty good for Hoy Roseman to take a
corner in the first round the Eagles
haven’t done that since 2002 with Leo
Shepard so they see something here in
this guy that they’re excited about and
that’s why you’re seeing hugs and high
fives from Jeffrey luran company inside
the draft room so you’re saying us like
Howe taking a linebacker well we’re
still waiting on that we’re going to
still wait on that for a while well we
haven’t seen any linebackers taken we’ve
seen Edge rushers go we’ve seen our
first defensive back go just a ton of
tackles and quarterbacks
and we haven’t seen another wide
receiver go off the board since romad
dun went off the board ninth overall to
join Caleb Williams probably on a
private de they’re probably already
wheels up on their way to Illinois right
now Bears fans are out of their skulls
excited about what happened tonight
Kaylee
Hartung is with quinan Mitchell Kaye
with the 22 pick in the 2024 NFL draft
the Philadelphia Eagles select wion
Mitchell defensive back Toledo good B
baby all right thank you mate Jordan
Mila I think that pick came from the
future isn’t it like tomorrow in
Australia or is it yesterday I can’t
remember how that works but quinan
Mitchell comes out of the Green Room
there in Detroit as the first cornerback
off the board which we
expected looks like he’s about done with
all this uh pump and Circumstance hey he
he got into a good spot though yeah
buddy it stings now but it going count
when those playoff shares start rolling
in that’s right that’s right and this is
a team that’s that needs Corner help in
a bad way after they tried to run it
back with James bad BR Bradberry there
it is and Darius sleigh and now going to
get that opportunity to kind of be that
next guy to help lock down some really
talented receivers in the NFC East to we
give a smile come on Quan qu about his
business maybe hey but Bucky how about I
mean no question this has been one of
the biggest risers in the draft
community in terms of buzz in terms of
man this guy has burst onto the scene
good tape at Toledo Senior Bowl really
helped him and then he blew it up at the
combine so this is really interesting
with with Quon Mitchell is just the way
that he checked off all the boxes along
the journey this is a guy that was
terrific during the regular season when
you watch the tape you watch him at the
Senior Bowl I team competitive knocks
that out dominates at the combine and
then when you think about the fit going
to Philadelphia this is a perfect fit in
the style of defense that Vic fangio
wants to play he’s a man-to-man corner
he can play up but he can play Bump but
he also can play off he gives them that
versatility they want from a technical
perspective to be able to have the
defense that they want to have to
blanket some of those NFC East Rivals
yeah and you know this is also what
happens when you have six quarterbacks
go yeah good players get push down the
board you know and and so good
quarterbacks get pushed down the board
and you saw his competitive nature at
the Senior Bowl it was so much fun
watching him uh react to players he went
from Toledo he wanted to show everyone
that he belonged but he has the athletic
profile I think from a coverage
standpoint he can play man or Zone um I
honestly believe that if you needed to
he could match up as a as a bigger slot
if you want to throw romad dun at him
for example from the slot Mitchell can
slide right in with him without a
problem uh because he has those kind of
hip so I think quinon Mitchell is a
really good selection for the Eagles
very very fortunate to have him fall to
that spot and that doesn’t happen unless
all those quarterbacks get the big push
that help push down rushers and
cornerbacks in this draft with the 23rd
pick in the 2024 NFL
draft the Jacksonville Jaguars select
Brian Thomas
Jr wide receiver
LSU okay so that makes three LSU Tigers
and Jaden Daniels two prime targets are
now out of the green room and I guess
he’s entering the teal room now in uh
Duvall County Brian Thomas Jr out of LSU
is going to go catch passes from Trevor
Lawrence out goes Calvin Ridley and they
replace him via the draft here with a
very explosive highflying receiver in
Brian Thomas Jr that LSU offense we’ve
talked about Jaden Daniels we talked
about neighbors this dude’s no slouch
now he put up huge numbers and most of
it deep down the field a true vertical
weapon see him walking towards the stage
here Joel he was 17 touchdowns all right
it wasn’t all just because Malik
Neighbors on the other side this kid
created as well and and loves football
he was an all State basketball player in
high school and actually gave basketball
up why for his first love which is
football and that obviously catapulted
him in the recruiting ranks and yes did
he benefit a little bit from having the
leak Neighbors on the other sure yes but
but he has so much speed and that
offense it was just beautiful to watch
this is a big reason why Jaden Daniels
had 100 explosive plays between his own
runs and then throwing the ball to these
two guys don’t throw him a shallow
across and expect to go get him really
easily yeah he is silky smooth and the
tracking skills down the field that is
his secret sauce the ability to not only
get up to that top speed but locate and
track the ball and make those big plays
for his quarterback here’s that vertical
gear I think about guys when the ball
goes up look at the separation you’re
you’re even you’re leaving when you’re
watching him you can be in great
coverage once that ball goes up he can
tap into another gear also down in the
Red Zone he can play Above the Rim he
can really Elevate and jump the catch
radius gives you a friendly Target you
can be a little bit of Miss and he can
still haul the ball in with that length
as well as that big time speed contact
strength usually you get these flyers
these speed Merchants they can’t play
through contact he does have that
ability he was a number four wide
receiver for me in this draft and I love
this fit here out goes Calvin Ridley in
comes Brian Thomas Jr and Brian Thomas
Jr take us through it there lerine Brian
Thomas Jr has tremendous speed so when
you watch the offense for LSU he was
able to work the Deep middle he was able
to work down the sidelines and wherever
he worked he was separating and he has
natural easy smooth speed so that he’s
got that separation potential I think
something that actually stood out about
Brian Thomas even ahead of Malik
neighbors was his ability to win the
jump balls in the end zone I think
that’s one area where Malik can get a
little bit better in the end zone but
with the catch radius and his ability to
win the ball deep with his tracking and
his Rise Above the Rim I think that’s
something that really uh is going to be
an element that Trevor Lawrence loves
with this pick of Brian Tom last year
before the season started the talk was
about man Trevor Lawrence what about
that comeback against the Chargers
unbelievable and then once the season
got started it’s all CJ strad and so now
the Texans are the the new dog uh on the
Block and with with Trevor Lawrence if
you want to get the most out of the
Trevor Lawrence that we’re all waiting
to see this generational type Talent
give him some wide receivers like Brian
Thomas and let’s see what what can
happen we’ve got Gabe Davis who’s a
straight vertical guy and now you got
Brian Thomas who can work a variety of
routes I really like that now you are
giving your quarterback the best chance
I think that he’s had since being in
Jacksonville of being an explosive
passer by adding a player like Brian
Thomas
with the 24th pick in the 2024 NFL draft
the Detroit Lions select tyon Arnold
defensive back
Alabama and he’s going to be here in
person and one of the most electric
players on the field with a personality
to match is going to come out on this
stage and meets and greets the
275,000 strong many of them wearing
Detroit Lions gear it worked out last
year drafting Brian Branch from Alabama
certainly to add him to the secondary in
Detroit now here comes terion Arnold out
of Alabama putting on a Lions hat and it
will be quite the moment when he hits
the stage there’s guys that like
football there’s guys that love football
and then there’s teron Arnold I mean he
has got so much energy so much juice so
much passion I bet he’s going to soak
this in with these Lions fans out here
tonight Joel I just I love the energy
that he brings to the field every time
he’s on the field he’s flying around
he’s physical he’s infectious in terms
of the energy that he plays and the and
the Defenders that he plays with and
here we are all right here he is oh
[Applause]
yeah Thursday Night Live with terion
Arnold live from Detroit
what a neat moment for
him a longer wait than he probably
thought but it’s paying off with him not
having to take a flight anywhere tell
you what nobody’s drafted better than
the Detroit Lions over the last couple
years and in my opinion they just hit
another one out of the park and they
came in with a vision with Brad Holmes
at GM head coach Dan Campbell Chris
fielman behind the scenes and they and
they’ve drafted to that vision and
played to that vision and terion arold
fits exactly what we’re talking about
remember last year when they moved up
for Gibbs at 12 they were criticized
Jack Campbell the linebacker late in the
first round criticized but they knew
that’s what they wanted in a ball player
and that turned out well for them I they
have the same feeling about terion
Arnold here and you touched on it DJ
like all the guys that they’ve drafted
love football they’re they they have an
infectious locker room now of guys that
just love the sport and want to compete
at a high level Brian Branch loved it so
much that he was here as part of that
group that thought he’d go in the
[Applause]
first still a cool moment there Buck for
Teran Arnold as he now has his NFL
destination oh he has his moment this is
a perfect fit uh for the Detroit Lines
this dude is super clean as a playmaker
I’m I’m going to tell you when you talk
about Aaron Glenn and what they want on
the perimeter he checks off all the
boxes tough physical terrific technician
High football IQ and the personality he
can bounce inside outside loves the game
of football loves competing when we had
a chance to talk to him a couple weeks
ago he just talked about really being in
tune with Nick Savin and doing all the
little things to be a great player this
is the guy that’s going to come and I
expect him to play right away and don’t
forget what they took his teammate last
year uh the second round who’s who
Little Nickel Corner they took last year
oh Brian Branch Branch b b b so you
started thinking about that like the
high IQ time to up the Annie when when
it comes to the IQ and the secondary he
is someone that enhances what they
already do in the defensive back loves
ball and a Aaron Glenn is going to be so
excited about having a guy that loves
ball like he does and that was something
we really got a chance to experience him
at the combine with with you know when
we got a chance to hear him and what he
had to say about his family and and his
energy his excitement he’s going to be
somebody who is great in the locker room
I think he’s going to be a player that
allows you to play in a slot or play
outside you do have to cover him up in
certain situations because I don’t think
you want to put him out there against
the speed burners uh that could be a
little bit of a problem but he does have
the ability to track the ball down the
field which he’ll show here and that’s
why he is a playmaker um down the field
the the thing that separates him from
Kool-Aid mckinstry to me is mckinstry is
the better athlete and he’s a little
more smooth with his mirror and match
footwork but the guy who just makes more
plays is tyon Arnold when the ball goes
up he treats it like he’s a wide
receiver and he is going for a wide
receiver uh I remember you know years
ago listening to uh to to Ike uh ik
Taylor when he was here and I asked him
I said what was it like as a quarterback
for you what do you look for he said
when the ball goes up I want to see
cornerbacks who go after the football
like they’re the wide receiver and
that’s what teron Arnold does is he
thinks that football is his he’s not
trying to play wide receiver unless he
has to he wants to go play football with
the 25th pick in the 2024 NFL draft the
Green Bay Packers and hosts for the 2025
NFL
draft uhoh select Jordan Morgan tackle
Arizona Jordan Morgan could really play
guard or tackle had an injury earlier in
his career was coming back from that
this past season a very athletic smooth
mover you can watch him redirect when
you’re watching the video you can see
that athleticism it really shows up here
he is at left tackle in the Run game
there’s a little bit of that upper
torque that upper power that’s not what
he majors in it’s more about this right
here it’s the quick footedness it’s the
athleticism the ability to redirect
rework those hands and create position I
didn’t think he was a very violent super
physical player but an excellent athlete
who I think will benefit being another
re Year remov from that knee injury
Charles A David bakari replacement with
the 25th pick in the 2024 NFL draft the
Green Bay Packers and hosts for the 2025
NFL draft
select Jordan Morgan tackle
[Applause]
Arizona okay Lance zerline Jordan Morgan
Not Gon or Barton how does he fit here
well he’s more experienced than Tyler
gon frankly and I mean and he is a
natural left tackle he played left
tackle over with the uh with Arizona I
thought his best football he had a game
against USC that I thought was
tremendous in 2022 and then he tore his
knee up uh at the end of the year which
he’s still trying to come back from that
knee I didn’t think he played his best
football this year because you can see
he’s still trying to come back from the
knee but Jordan Morgan has a lot of
talent and he’s experienced at left
tackle David bakari is gone Tyler gon is
is inexperienced and has played
primarily over there on the right side
so he’d have to make the switch to left
Jordan is more of a plug-and-play guy
potentially right now actually than
Tyler gon is so I don’t know if the
upside is as high as Tyler gens but
Green Bay I think right here is are
they’re banking on they want to know the
answer right now they don’t want to wait
and find out if they got it right I
think they view Jordan Morgan as a safe
left tackle and look I think this really
reflects how we thought about this
offensive tackle class the number of
guys that have already gone Jordan
Morgan was the guy that we talked about
potentially being on the line first
round second round he goes off the board
experienced player Jordan love remember
Jordan love is in line to get the bag
very very soon and the Cowboys will
choose with the 26th pick in the 2024
NFL draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
select Graham Barton Center
Duke so that’s I think what Ian was
referring to right there yeah maybe
there is a collective groan inside the
Dallas uh draft room there grah Bart in
position flexibility Mitch moris
somebody who played tackle also kicked
inside and has had a great run at Center
here he is at tackle this last year
really strong hands once he lands his
hands the rep is over if he he can get
his hands inside it’s outstanding in the
Run game really good as a polar getting
up to the second level getting out in
space at the perimeter outstanding
athlete you’re going to love using him
in the screen game here he is as a
freshman playing Center he’s an
18-year-old in this video right here
doing a really nice job against North
Carolina that’s his home for me in the
future is at Center I think he could be
a pro bowl Center and look at him Alx
Bro Look at that at Ravenswood High
School in Tennessee lacrosse it over
wait a minute yeah and by way SC I just
see him hitting people and by the way
you’ll see a lot of penalty Flags Okay
he and Trey Hendrickson with the Bengals
they were those types of LAX guys going
look at him a long stick defenseman
taking it all the way down like that
with the 26th pick in the 2024 NFL draft
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Graham
Barton Center
Duke the wait is over for Graham Barton
one of the most versatile offensive
lineman in this draft class here Lance
zern line tell us about him he’s the
safest offensive lineman in the entire
draft he has played tackle but can play
guard or Center and what the the five
for one position flexibility it’s a very
rare thing to see a guy who can play
left tackle right tackle both guards and
center but Grant Barton has the ability
to do that if he needs to get you out of
a game at tackle he is athletic enough
as a move blocker uh to go out there and
and get blocks out on the perimeter but
where he really stands out to me is hand
placement is hand usage is the ability
to bend and leverage as a run blocker
and pass protector he can anchor up on
the inside against strong guys he has
got uh he’s a 6’4 tackle with with or
interior lineman with about 33in arms
right right in that neighborhood but
what’s really actually sub 33 but what’s
impressive to me is when you have a guy
who’s play tackle in college and he
steps inside that’s a big Advantage from
a pass Pro St well and he played center
as a true freshman 19-year-old at Duke
it’s not a problem for him um I I I
really like this pick for it’s not a
sexy pick but it’s a needed pick Buck
yeah needed pick versatility on the
inside high IQ player you talk about
being able to step right into the lineup
and give them um immediate production
this is a high performing player someone
who’s smart we had him on the podcast
the other day very impr they got him
that the 27th pick in the 2024 NFL draft
the Arizona Cardinal select Darius
Robinson defensive tackle
Missouri I was told that they were
hunting for interior pass rush in this
draft Darius Robinson’s fascinating Joel
because when you watched him this year
was out on the edge and he flourished
previously he’d been inside so teams
were split on how you use them some feel
like you play him outside on the edge on
those base Downs those early Downs then
let him rush inside but they really want
to get some interior pass rush and I
believe that’s why Darius Robinson was
their guy what a great finish to his
career think about the year that Eli
drinkwitz had with Missouri and and
culminating in that win over Ohio State
in the bowl game he finishes his career
as as one of the best players in the SEC
battled an ankle injuries at times
during his career uh but when you look
at this guy he was voted one of the best
players in the Senior Bowl that week
denim mobile you guys got a up close and
personal seat to what he did down there
I think he helped his draft stock
immensely that he certainly did that
week at Mo in Mobile because of the
versatility DJ touched on it which way
do you want to play him I did not see
him as that Twitchy exclusive Edge
rusher what we saw in Mobile was him
taking on offensive tackles taking on
offensive guards he rose to the
challenge and every day he got better
and you saw his confidence grow I think
he’s a versatile piece moving up and
down I thought Johnny Newton might be a
possibility there for Arizona as well
and that’s the last player out of the
Green Room as well so there’s nobody
that’s going to be sticking around or
thinking about what tomorrow might bring
Darius Robinson means we’re closing up
shop all 13 players in the Green Room
have hit the stage tonight this is a lot
of the stuff we’ve talked about here
he’s been a big Edge but can also kick
inside the senior bow was really
something that elevated his stock it
also started to elicit some comparisons
could this be a cam Jordan type player
in that big frame that you can use on
the edge very physical against the Run
takes on blocks you can’t really move
him he’s got range to be able to really
Chase guys and chase him all over the
field not only as a pass rusher but also
against the Run there’s that push pole
you’ll see it you’ll see it over and
over and over again he’ll push a guy out
he’ll pull him and swim him that’s
against G and the tackle we’ll see his
name called here pretty soon from
Oklahoma there he is kicked inside and
showing you that interior pass rush so a
fun versatile chess piece here along the
defensive front for the Cardinals Rich
talking with some of his teammates real
quick with Rich at missou they said that
he made everything go they raved about
his leadership there in the missou
locker room and there you go all right
Lance uh take us through Darius Robinson
big player that you could really kind of
group anywhere as an edge player or as
an interior type of player along the D
line Darius Robinson you have to go back
and watch 2022 as well because he was a
defensive tackle there he is a great
looking player physically long arms he’s
well muscled not a lot of body fat
trimmed down into about the 285 range
played out at defensive end this year
you know he’s not a natural defensive
end type rusher but if you reduce him
down into defensive tackle oh he’s got
that ability he’s a good athlete but
most importantly he’s got the even front
odd front flexibility and Bucky you can
talk about that in this era of hybrid
football the ability to change up where
you’re playing a guy whether he he’s a
five technique is he if he’s a base end
if he is down as a three technique or
maybe even lining up right there as a
one technique because you think he’s too
quick for the guys in the interior
players like Darius Robinson who used to
be tween ERS are now hybrid flexibility
guys yeah hybrid flexibility is what he
brings to the table he is someone who
spent most of his career as a defensive
tackle before kicking outside to end
this year we see the pass rush ability
but really what I like about him is to
me he is an a solid base end meaning
he’s going to be really good against the
Run he can give you the pass fresh
ability but he’s more of a compliment
than the guy that is the tone Setter on
the edges but a really good football
player High motor intensity he brings a
lot to the table Todd bows is going to
like him a lot not Todd B but um AR
Arizona is going to like him a lot
because he’s a tone Setter he’s a very
physical player and’s going to love them
yeah they’re they’re trying to they’re
trying to find core players right now
Arizona’s roster when you look at it I
mean there’s holes all over the place
and they do have a lot of different
draft picks but this is a physical
player who is a tone Setter that you’re
getting in the first round it helps that
he plays two different positions from a
football standpoint but every new coach
every new regime every time you’re
trying to build you want to build
toughness in the trenches and he’s a
toughness in the trench type player the
NFL is proud to support the
life-changing wishes that make oit
grants one important wish was requested
by a young man by the name of Justin L
who was diagnosed with renal failure at
age 15 and received a kidney trans
transplant from his
father just last year
Justin’s love for football and the
Chiefs got him through those
treatments please welcome Justin to the
stage whose wish is to announce the
first round draft pick for his beloved
Kansas City
Chiefs I’d like all of you to join me in
cheering on Justin as this wish comes
true the floor is yours Justin go get
him Bab
the Buffalo Bills have traded the 28th
pick to the Kansas City
Chiefs with the 28th pick in the 2024
NFL draft the back-to-back Super Bowl
champions Kansas City Chiefs select
Exavier worthy there it
is and it’s only fitting that the 20th
offensive player of this first round
breaking a record for most offensive
players taken in a first round and that
record is set by the guy who broke the
record for the fastest 40 at a combine
and he’s joining the Chiefs look out
this might not be the last record he
breaks when you put him with Patrick
Mahomes instant speed that 421 alltime
great in terms of that number and watch
how fast he is on a field of fast
players at Alabama this is the game that
jumped out to me the ability to get down
the field track the ball over your
shoulder almost like Willie May but then
also be able to run routes this is where
the Deshawn Jack ja comparison and the
tank Dell comparison undiz explosive
players but they’re also excellent route
Runners and worthy has the toughness
that shows up with a ball in his hands
it also shows up as a returner don’t
forget also you’ve got the connection
Andy Reid BYU Steve sarkeesian they are
very close he will know everything about
this kid that he’s bringing into his
building I just think about the
creativity as well in the in the play
calling and Kurt I for me if I’m a
quarterback and I’ve got that speed and
Andy Reid calling plays Patrick Mahomes
has got to be happy with that speed and
creativity that they’re going to have
offensively the Buffalo Bills have
traded the 28th pick to the Kansas City
Chiefs with the 28th pick in the 20124
NFL draft the back-to-back Super Bowl
champions Kansas City Chiefs select
Xavier
[Applause]
worthy speed speed and and hey look guy
has got he’s more than just a one- trick
pony now Bucky but that 421 certainly
stands out well that 421 makes you back
up and let’s be honest the Kanas C
Chiefs are back-to-back Champions but
the offense has not been the same since
Tyreek Hill departed Tyreek Hill was the
vertical element the playmaker took the
top off the defense made it easy for
everyone else now you get someone who
has that speed to really create
opportunities for the other guys working
underneath no we don’t know what’s going
to be the status of rice but we do know
that this guy on the outside he’s going
to command a lot of attention he’s going
to open up the field and maybe help
Travis Kelsey get some more easy layups
well you know um Andy and those guys
they they saw how easy life was how much
better life was when Tyreek Hill and
that kind of speed was on the field as
soon as he steps on the field safeties
have to back up they have to account for
them you can’t stop the run as easily
you can’t drop somebody extra in the Box
you need to shade coverage if you’re
going to play any you know single high
you better be shading in his Direction
it helps the running game it’s going to
help the wide receiver on the other side
it can help Travis Kelce it’s the
ancillary benefits of speed that I think
often go unlooked but when you want to
talk about the the wide receiver himself
you know when we saw what tank Dell did
at at Houston for the Texans he had
seven touchdowns before he got hurt and
out for the year and he doesn’t have the
speed that that that you have with
Xavier worthy but Xavier Worthy’s not a
stiff hip straight line speed guy like
like uh Valdez scantling was we’re
talking about a wide receiver who can B
and break it who can who can shake uh at
the top of the at the top of the route
and beat you out of stems and I mean
he’s got instant separation ability up
at multiple levels not just a buildup
speed vertically we’re talking about
somebody who can get open and if there’s
one thing Bucky that’s been unusual uh
to see and and they don’t follow the
mode it’s Kansas City does what Kansas
City does they don’t care about getting
the basketball team as you say they’ve
got Hollywood Brown and Xavier worthy
they don’t they
don’t with the 29th pick in the 2024 NFL
draft the Dallas Cowboys select Tyler
gon tackle
Oklahoma there you go at eight tackles
in my top 50 and I believe that ties the
record we’ll get that confirmed but
that’s the eighth tackle to go here in
the first round Tyler gon he’s going to
be the eventual replacement for Tyron
Smith who’s now a New York Jet we talked
a lot about Mims earlier eight starts
not many more starts here for Tyler gon
it’s inexperienced former tight end but
look at the dimensions 6′ 7 almost 6’8
322 lbs with outstanding athleticism
when you talk to their offensive line
coach down there at Oklahoma he told all
the scouts that went through there I’ve
never coached anyone more talented than
him and think about all the offensive
linemen that have come out of Oklahoma
over the last few years he can uproot
defenders in the Run game whereas Mims I
thought was a little more polished as a
pass protector he can B more movement in
the Run game here he is at the senior
bow trying to rework his hands a little
bit of an up and down week for him down
there in Mobile you see the hands get a
little bit wide there there’s coaching
points there’s things to work on CD raw
he’s a raw player but again upside I
mean unlimited when it comes to upside
with the 29th pick in the 2024 NFL draft
the Dallas Cowboys select Tyler gon
tackle Oklahoma
work so there you go you know that was
kind of I kind of thought that you know
maybe they weren’t as interested in the
interior players in the first round as
some had kind of suggested early on and
they get a guy in Tyler gon here uh who
provides them some maybe some future
here at Lance at tackle so you have to
find out what Detroit’s doing right the
trade up they tell you what they’re
going to do then you start running the
math on everything they may have gotten
a little nervous there when when uh when
the Chiefs traded up but really good job
smart job by the Dallas Cowboys of of
moving back and still getting the tackle
that many of us had targeted to the
Dallas Cowboys so Tyler gon is a high is
a high ceiling player but he’s got to
play more football there’s no way to
speed up the process for him he hasn’t
played enough football yet to be able to
really understand all the tricks that
he’s going to be that are going to be
thrown his way by the NFL rushers some
of the push pull stuff that he’s going
to you know have to take on Bucky that’s
going to be new to him but he’s long
he’s got the athleticism to play on the
right side or the left side
and I think as he learns the position
and it’s it’s going to be his Ascension
to becoming a really good tackle could
be very very fast yeah it could be very
fast former tight end making a
transition uh you think about what the
Cowboys have been able to do with
offensive lineman in the past some of
the guys like even a guy they took from
Telsa we wasn’t a polished guy but then
he gets to Dallas and he plays really
well so maybe G can be on a similar
track gives them the versatility play
right tackle left tackle they may not
have to move Smith outside and look the
Cowboys get back to to their Roots right
that this kind of this run that had
brought them to the top of the division
a number of times was really keyed when
they went heavy on offensive line Ty
Tyron Smith Zack Martin Travis Frederick
and now went back to that well last year
with Tyler Smith and now kind of
continue to rebuild that Great Wall of
Texas with the 30th pick in the 2024 NFL
draft the Baltimore Ravens select Nate
Wiggins defensive back
Clemson yeah you guys talked about it in
terms of just the pure cover Corner
that’s what he is reminded me of DRC
Dominic Rogers Crow Marty the 173 lbs
was a little startling he got to his pro
day he was back up over 180 so that was
encouraging a very Dynamic Athlete the
testing numbers were excellent he’s very
loose and fluid and smooth in all of his
movements as he keeps his eyes on the
quarterback watch the speed to close
here he can close down that space that
catchup that make up speed he’s got it
big time the effort to chase plays down
he did it twice you’ll see them both
right here Force the fumble at the one
yd line here he is against North
Carolina another one phenomenal effort
to chase that play down now the issues
are some of the tackling tackling wasn’t
great he was a little content to hang on
blocks at times but you go to the
Baltimore Ravens they will Coach you out
of that very quickly and if they don’t
do it the first time you have to face
Derrik Henry in the First full contact
session you’ll figure that one out with
the 30th pick in the 2020 24 NFL draft
the Baltimore Ravens select Nate Wiggins
defensive back Clemson gu they do want
that bik they wanted that speed huh I
guess they do want that bik y well look
as a football player you know he’s he’s
up there a little bit on my list um
because I think Nate Wiggins is is just
a really good covered corner I mean on
tape he was probably the best pure cover
corner on tape and he’s very very fast
the questions you have with Nate Wiggins
is is he big enough to hold up against
NFL uh tackles and or wide receivers and
when teams decide to Target him in the
Run game how is he going to handle
himself from a durability standpoint and
can he get guys down as a tackler I I
don’t think he’s going to be a great
tackler in the Run game I think the Run
game is going to be an issue for him but
man he has unbelievable makeup speed
very fluid in the hips able to mirror
match out of the back pedal um he’s not
going to be out run you can throw him on
whoever you need to and he and handle
the speed down the field so Nate Wiggins
is a very I like him as a corner I’m a
little surprised cuz I don’t feel like
that’s the Ravens type of cornerback but
you know from a talent standpoint it’s
there I just I felt like that
175lb cornerback might be something that
could get him bounced out of the first
round yeah it’s not the typical Corner
that the Baltimore Ravens select but
he’s a really good player turns the
transitions are smooth he does all the
things in the coverage game that you
like to see but the physicality and
toughness has to show up on tape with
the 31st pick in the 2024 NFL draft the
San Francisco 49ers select Ricky peaw
wide receiver Florida so they do take a
receiver and it’s Ricky peaw yeah Ricky
Piera is coming off a great year and
somebody who also went to the Senior
Bowl and showed up down there Charles
and I saw him down there Michael Gallop
was my comparison route polish and one
of the things when you watch him he’s so
crisp when he gets to the top of his
route they appreciate that this is the
best catch anybody had all year long
this you won’t see a better catch than
that one to be able to haul that one in
tracking the ball again outstanding
hands they value that everywhere but
especially with Kyle Shanahan can you
run through the catch Point can you run
clean routes and are you reliable with
your hands he’s a really good player CD
and he’s be he’ll be one of those guys
that shows up early stays late
absolutely loves ball Joel you remember
him at Arizona St I do I was just going
to say he was our way back with J Daniel
there’s a certain quarterback who went
number two through the to Ricky peol and
now you’re taking a look at what Ian was
talking about what happens with IU we
don’t know but piol is there KD’s still
there Debo it’ be interested to see how
they continue to Fashion things but Kyle
Shanahan one of the best play play
diagramms that we know and and you saw
all of that tape he can play in the slot
you can bring him around on on those L
little you know I call them like circus
motions you can be creative with peol
because one he’s smart two he’s reliable
and three he’s always going to create
some level of Separation I think Kyle
Shanahan’s going to love that about
Ricky psel guys let’s welcome the
Carolina Panther with the 3 first pick
in the 2024 NFL draft the San Francisco
49ers select Ricky peaw wide receiver
[Applause]
Florida hot dang Ricky peaw 42 in
vert 4340
4440 extreme athlet great route polish
tell us about him buck love him love his
game this is a route route Runner
extraordinaire he has all the the the
tricks of the trade when it comes to
getting open over the middle of the
field great hands great ball skills
really has mastered the craft in The Art
of Getting open this is a big- Time
playmaker someone that can get it done
has a run after catch ability that the
Niners love maybe just maybe this is a
signal a smoke signal all right Lance
you yeah you were starting to beat into
it yeah I think Brandon nauk is going to
be on the way out and I think Ricky peaw
I mean that’s the catch of the year that
catch that he made was absolutely I I
didn’t know I was going to run into it
when I watched tape and I probably spent
about 34 minutes on it was unbelievable
Ricky but Ricky peaw from a separation
standpoint Ricky peaw is as good as
anybody in this draft is separating
other than maybe you know the pure speed
of Xavier worthy and Malik neighbors but
Ricky Pierce has very good hands you
can’t guard him in the slot and then
he’s got the ability I think to win
physically against smaller nickels and
then separate against bigger uh players
as well and then what really impressed
me was what he did at at the combine I
think that’s what pushed him into the
first round for San Francisco is he ran
a 441 jumped over 40 in vertical leap I
mean this this is an elite athletic
profile for Ricky Pierce and that’s what
pushed him into the first round people
say combin doesn’t matter oh combine
matters oh yeah combine matters trust me
and a little bit more of a compact kind
of physical body than a player like lad
makoni who we also kind of thought was
in they were compared similarly but if
you like lad well do you like a bigger
faster lad right because that’s Ricky is
kind of bigger and faster yeah I mean
they’re right there I mean lad ran 439 I
think ended up but yeah you’re I me did
he run that fast9 down wait a minute
now the Buffalo Bills have traded the
32nd pick to the Carolina Panther
with the 32nd pick in the 2024 NFL draft
the Carolina Panther select
Xavier liot wide receiver South Carolina
they are of their word sir honest Dave
that closes the first round thank you
Detroit for a record setting night don’t
forget over the next two days you can
break the alltime NFL draft record
thank you see you at 7:00 tomorrow night
and speaking of record setting or record
tying that’s a record tying seventh wide
receiver taken in this first round that
saw a record-breaking 14 offensive
players go off the board consecutively
to start it in a record-breaking six
quarterbacks in the first 12 picks and
this kid out of South Carolina said he
was told this going happen told yeah and
he said they were taking me with a 33rd
pick technically they did lie with the
32nd pick they traded up one spot he was
supposed to tell everybody no that’ll
probably the last time that happen the
last time that conversation big physical
you think about Debo Samuel with that
size and physicality some comparisons
out there oh could he be an AJ Brown
just look at the body type 220 lbs he’s
a big vertical weapon who goes up and
wins a lot of these 50/50 balls down the
field also has return background there’s
not as much route polish there he’s
going to need some work in that area be
patient with him in that regard but
speed physicality size Slants goes over
routes that’s going to be what he majors
in and you mentioned the comparison and
that’s going to be AJ Brown that’s
exactly what we’re talking about in
terms of the size the speed how physical
he is running routes and essentially a
one-year full-time starter because he
had been a part-time guy Joel throughout
his time in South Carolina but he also
reminded me a little bit of Kenyan Drake
in a different position cuz when Kenyan
Drake came out Alabama’s a third round
pick he helped make his bones as a
special teams Gunner and this is exactly
what Xavier Legette would do then we see
him at the senior ball the Buffalo Bills
have traded the 32nd pick to the
Carolina
Panthers with the 32nd pick in the 2024
NFL draft the Carolina Panthers select
Xavier liot wide receiver South Carolina
that closes the first round thank you
Detroit for a record setting night don’t
forget over the next two days you can
break the alltime NFL draft record thank
you see you at 7 o00 tomorrow
night all right so wasn’t this all in
the news Bucky he brought it up Dave
Canalis told Xavier Legette that he was
going to take him pick you he said it he
told but then Dave also said that I told
that to about 50 different
prospects after his cover was blown
that’s what that’s what happened but
yeah look last year the Carolina
Panthers took Jonathan Mingo hoping that
they could get body playmaker on the
outside didn’t necessarily play much
didn’t work out so now they go back to
the well this guy was a terrific
one-year player uh for South Carolina
not one-year player but he was a he had
a revelation his final season at South
Carolina where he really exploded became
the big time vertical threat called the
ball he’s physical he just adds another
weapon uh to the Arsenal for the
Carolina Panthers as they help Bryce
young take a huge step in year two 71
catches just over 12200 yard and seven
touchdowns there for the leg at had a
scouting director compared to Anquan
Balden he just said look he’s faster
than Anquan but he said the way his his
attitude on the field his
competitiveness his physicality he said
he plays a lot like Anquan used to play
and uh Anquan was a 4740 guy Xavier
Legette ran much better but this has
basically what we’re talking about
Carolina had him circled they knew where
they were going and they didn’t want a
chance of losing him to buffalo buffalo
gave a little Bluff and said you know
what we’ll give you an extra little pick
here here’s your take your little pick
buffal we’re getting our guy we’re not
taking any chances and we’re getting a
fifth year on option and Bucky I think
that’s kind of interesting because for
the bills you know if if he was their
guy they wouldn’t be moving off that
pick so they feel pretty good about
wherever they come to them yeah they
feel pretty good about is going to be
available day two they feel like maybe
they can get a receiver in the second or
the third round to complement it but to
me it says that the Buffalo Bills
believe in Josh Allen’s ability to
elevate The Playmakers around him we’ll
see if they’re proven right

  1. Wtf are Bills doing. The Chiefs have been their kryptonite for years now. They even lost to them with home field advantage in the playoffs. And they trade their pick away to the team that keeps stopping them? What is wrong with the Bills? 😂

  2. So this is an NFL production and displaying review footage so they can add time for more revenue. Not only is this cheesy but someone should be fired. I will stop watching now.

  3. I love Quinyon Mitchell’s attitude already before he even steps on the field. It has B-Dawk written all over it. After a “happy go lucky” mentality the Eagles Defense has portrayed recently. We need a guy that’s about that business.
