[Ohrnberger] Chargers selecting Joe Alt at 5 will upset fans and will feel like a reach until it’s late in the season and they can control the clock with the run game and Justin Herbert is healthy for a playoff run. Champions are built from the inside out. It’s a line of scrimmage game.

  1. Teams are going to **FEEL** the Chargers when they play against them. Their bodies are going to ache a week after they get beat tf up by these trench warriors. For a long time, our team’s been very frail, and too finesse-y. It’s a new era…

  2. I think Harbaugh and Hortiz are looking towards next year more so than this year. Building it from the inside out. We’ll have loads of cap space next year to make some real moves. I hope they draft 2 WR or 1 WR and a TE. Maybe they’re higher on johnston than we think?

  3. If Frazier or JPJ are there I wouldn’t be surprised we draft either one. Same goes with Newton

  4. Dont be surprised when we fix our other weakness the next round. We are definitely going DT to FINALLY fix our run defense.

  5. Yeah Alt is growing on me, let’s get it baby. As long as we can draft a gem WR at some point I’ll be happy lol

  6. JFC football is won in the trenches. All these people that wanted a high caliber receiver don’t understand how the game is won. This QB can make a WR1 out of
any of them, if he has time and the threat of running for 6. Powerhouse football is where it’s at. Fuck the 70 yard flashy highlight reel plays. Win it with 6 yards on offense, and hold them to 3 yards on defense. It works, every time.

  7. All I wanna know is where tf have all you guys agreeing with this take been this entire offseason? All I ever saw was “MHJ NABERS” and when I spoke up rooting for oline NOBODY ever agreed.

  8. Joe Alt should be an amazing player. The problem is we’re building a run 1st run 2nd team even tho we have a top 5 QB. we also have no viable options in the passing game so what do we do when every team puts 9 in the box and dares us to throw? Oh and we also don’t have a top 10 running back either… I’m all for upping the run game but not getting a receiver here seems out of touch. No elite skill player on offense at all and we want super bowls????? Make it make sense please

  9. In what world is Joe Alt a “reach”? I mean, he’s been a top player for months and pinned in as a lock to go no later than 7 to the Titans

  10. Anyone that thinks getting the number one tackle at 5 is “a reach” doesn’t really follow football. You can be disappointed we didn’t get a highlight reel type player but it’s definitely not a reach.

  11. If we couldn’t get MHJ, I was hoping to get an elite OL. I’m happy af about Alt. I hated watching Herbert running for his life just about every snap. He’s surgical when he has time to throw and opening up the running game will keep him fresh. Can’t wait to see which other players we get. Hopefully a good DL and CB along with a top tier WR like Adonai Mitchell

  12. If we draft Corum in the 2nd over some of the guys left on the board I’m going to lie down in traffic

  13. I’m all for this pick but I don’t think anyone feels it’s a reach, it just didn’t address a very glaring need.
