  1. Would love a trade up for Newton, but get it if we stay put. Either way this day 2 pick needs to be on either of the lines

  2. I’m going to be at work for the entirety of this likely but if I get off and see we traded up for Newton I’d be happy. I wouldn’t have been upset if we’d taken him in r1

  3. Trade #75 and a 2025 2nd for Jackson-Powers Johnson, Johnny Newton, or Marshawn Kneeland. Draft Tory Taylor at 122. Perfect draft.

  4. If they can somehow trade up from #75 to land Jackson Powers Johnson, I might actually, legitimately, for real be able to reach climax just looking at the draft board

  5. If I’m the Bears I play it in a conservative but risky way. Conservative in no trade ups. Aggressive in maybe try and draft some players you can transition into new positions. A big corner who can potentially play nickel or safety. A twitchy linebacker we can convert to pass rusher. Or a tackle we can teach to play guard. Or with the new kick off rule – some dude what will have the rugby, open field run play type of return ability.

To me it’s guys like Suamataia the BYU tackle. Payton Wilson the NC state LB. Jean-Baptiste ND edge. Those are guys I wouldn’t mind trying to move into new positions. Guard, edge, 3tech respectively.

Either that or just draft all offensive linemen. And we figure out edge and dt this summer.

  6. Still can’t believe yesterday happened. The Bears are finally not the Bears anymore. Picking Rome at 9 would have not happened under Pace or Emery. Poles is the man.

  7. There’s going to be a ton of iOL available at our pick and even though we shored that up, I think it’ll be BPA. It’s much easier to find a good iOL in the mid rounds than an impactful edge.

  8. I know we need another pass rusher…. But I would love a trade up for Zach Frazier.

    Starting OL could be ~
    > Jones – Jenkins – Frazier – Davis – Wright

    Depth would be:
    * Backup OT: Larry Borom, Jake Curhan, Matt Pryor
    * Backup OG: Ryan Bates, Ja’Tyre Carter, Matt Pryor (career 750 snaps at RG)
    * Backup C: Ryan Bates, Coleman Shelton

  9. I woke up this morning with a rock hard erection having dreamt that we drafted Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze.

  10. Stick and pick, take the best OL and DL prospects available, and call it a draft. Let’s not overthink this.

  11. Anyone have the clip of the Bears draft room laughing once the Falcons picked Penix? ESPN 1000 brought it up and I want to see it.

  12. OK my entirely spontaneous evaluation via ESPN has led me to want the Bears to get either Brennan Jackson or Myles Cole at Edge in round 3. I’d love to see them somehow get JPJ or Frazier at C as well.

  13. See lots of comments about newton but I don’t think he fits the model for flus or poles. The talents great but flus has said he wants DL’s that are “big, fast and long” and newton is only one of those.

  14. Poles got Braxton Jones in the 5th round, I’m confident he can find good iOL in the 3rd or 4th round.
