Even as a 29 year old prospect, I give it an A+ considering it’s a second round steal
Yes, let’s just pretend
The Michael penix of DTs
I don’t feel so bad about Zach Frazier now
Do we get to pay him like a rookie though??
I love Big Cat, but the 2nd round pick was for last year’s rental. He’s with us this year because we paid him. I can love the player and question the trade.
That said I’m super stoked to see Williams and Murphy out there together!
BUILD THE WALL! BUILD THE WALL!
That’s an expensive rookie contract
Damn, how’d bro make it to 29 without running out of eligibility??
We’ve had one Leonard Williams, yes. But what about second Leonard Williams?
We could have signed him this free agency without having to give up a 2nd round pick. Here come the downvotes though for some reason even though it’s factual and true…
I mean, we don’t know what into this trade. It could have been a bidding war where another team had already offered a lower 2nd and that was what it took to get him. It’s easy to criticize from the outside looking in.
I mean hell, consider the Adams trade. Horrible, horrible trade. But, had he played like he was expected.. it would have been a great deal. Sadly, it didn’t work out that way due to injuries. This is a much easier trade to criticize since we have the hindsight of knowing how poorly it worked out.
Williams already earned his 2nd round pick last year, and since we just paid him.. he’ll (hopefully) keep earning his contract moving forward.
I’d much rather have a 2nd round pick and $20 million in cap space back.
But sure, the 30 year old DT
Not a bad pick! Bet he does more in the next 3 years than 75% of the 2nd round
We got the two best defensive players in the draft
