16. mikolas best outing results-wise. can’t be expecting four doubles and a home run to result in such a solid start every time, but this time it worked.

19. I’m a bit worried about Gorman.

    His struggles are not 2024-specific. Since May 26, 2023, he’s batting under .200 and slugging under .400. Spring training generally gets written off since it doesn’t matter and everyone is figuring shit out, but he didn’t figure anything out and I think it’s an important note given the timeline. He was cold most of last year, this spring, and the first month of the 2024 season.

    This isn’t a 20, 30, 40, or 50 game cold streak. We’re talking 100+ games.

    I’m holding onto the hope that his back was a contributor to his spiral last season, and he is going through a poorly timed cold streak to start the season. Everyone has hot and cold months.

    To say something positive, he’s looked good on double plays. Strong arm has come in handy too.
