  1. Nathan Eovaldi is the reason I work out.

I have this fantasy where we start talking at the Vanity Fair Oscars party bar. We exchange a few pleasantries. He asks what I do. I say I loved him in the 2023 Postseason. He laughs. I get my drink.

“Well, see ya,” I say and walk away. I’ve got his attention now. How many guys voluntarily leave a conversation with Nathan Eovaldi? He touches his neck as he watches me leave.

Later, as the night’s dragged on and the coterie of gorgeous narcissists grows increasingly loose, he finds me on the balcony, my bowtie undone, smoking a cigarette.

    “Got a spare?” He asks.

“What’s in it for me?” I say as I hand him one of my little white ladies. He smiles.

“Conversation with me, duh.”    I laugh.

    “What’s so funny?” he protests.

“Nothing, nothing… It’s just… don’t you grow tired of the egos?”

“You get used to it,” he says, lighting his cigarette and handing me back the lighter.    “What would you do if you weren’t a baseball player?” I ask.

    “Teaching, I think.”

“And if I was your student, what would I be learning?” “Discipline,” he says quickly, looking up into my eyes, before changing the subject. “Where are you from?”

    “Bermuda,” I say.

    “Oh wow. That’s lovely.”

“It’s ok,” I admit. “Not everything is to my liking.”

“What could possibly be not to your liking in Bermuda?” he inquires.

“I don’t like sand,” I tell him. “It’s coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.”

  3. Great win! When our offense comes around, and IF our bullpen can continue even being somewhat this good, I think we’re going to be in for another great season

  4. I didn’t expect Carter to be one of our better home run hitters but I’ll take it

  5. Not only a win but Yates maintains his 0.00 ERA.

    The Peagle truly is magnanimous.

Undefeated this season when we wear our City Connects 😛

  6. So our pitching apparently isn’t a problem but our offense is… makes sense. They have got to start stringing some hits together and finishing. I’m glad we won but man.

  7. Offense has gotta step it up man. Again, I’m cool with home runs but they are truly a make it or break it thing we haven’t consistently done. I’m not mad at the W but every at bat I’m literally just praying we hit homers instead of putting the ball in play and bringing RISP home.

  8. Don’t let this win distract you from the A’s being 3.5 games in front of Houston

  9. Rangers are now 4-0 when I get my World Series Pops out of the box and spread them out in front of me before watching the game. Can’t do it every day and suck the magic out of the Pops, but it’s good to see them keep coming through when needed…
