Can’t convince Boone has nothing to do with this
Its called the Boone effect
I’m convinced they punt these to save their bullpen arms
So punting games when you’re winning in extras isn’t a winning strategy after all
on our Captain’s birthday 🙁
Boone is a bad manager, and Cashman and Steinbrenner continue to double-down in bringing this guy back every year.
Poor management is the main answer here. and I am not one to point the finger at Boone
Put Judge 2nd. Soto 3rd.
Interesting when I commented on how much I don’t want to see Girardi in the booth (I hold a well-earned grudge) and how he and Boone are twins, I got a lot of push back. I’m pretty sure this situation is a deja vu all over again and their management style and boonedoggles are aligned. Thanks Hal. It’s no accident we haven’t had a WS in 14 years.
Bad managing and a cooked pen will lead to losses in extras.
Wow same as last year. Great start and then we fall off the face of the earth.
Too lazy to look it up, but how many times have the Yankees scored 0 or 1 run as the away team in extras? Can blame the pitching decisions, sure, but as the away team, you need to be scoring 2-3 runs at a minimum.
Has anyone told the organization this isn’t the clown NHL, you don’t get points for losing in OT.
The ghost runner is a sham.
Well they haven’t changed their strategy at all. Not sure what they’re expecting. Run on contract which seems to always backfire and never intentionally walk to set up the double play when the ghost runner gets over on a sacrifice
Running on contact will forever piss me off.
And it’s not the reason they lost this time, but it’s insane how Boone refuses to IBB to set up a double play when the trail runner is irrelevant anyway. Why wouldn’t you rather play at double-play depth instead of bringing the infield in?
