  1. I’m not even going to pretend getting upset, because there’s no point. Schrager pointed out yesterday that the league and the media differ on prospects and himself had Polk going as early as round 1 based on intel. Teams were obviously gearing to select him.

As for Wallace, Pelissero started pushing him into the second day based on the amount of attention he was getting from teams on Top 30 visits.

I’ve seen people shit on the Maye pick, people shit on Polk and people shit on Wallace now. There’s no point discussing with them. They’ll be upset and stop being fans at some point.

  2. In an alternate universe, we draft Cole Strange 2.0 with the #3 pick… admittedly, I don’t know much about college football or our draft picks, but I’m just glad we don’t live in that universe lol.

  3. It’s perfectly reasonable to want both positions of need, and good value picks.

The hostility in this sub toward having a negative opinion on a draft pick is completely silly. No one is coming after people who LIKE the Maye pick, but as soon as people don’t like a draft pick, the sub is full of comments that we shouldn’t even have an opinion.

I like the Maye and Polk picks. I hate the Wallace pick because it was three rounds too early and the badly misplayed the board. That opinion is based on the many draft analysts I have listened to, who have spent time watching the film and who I have confidence in.

  4. I want one person who is complaining about big boards this late in the draft to point me to where Bo Nix was on the big boards vs where he was drafted.

Caring about “reaches” after the first round is so dumb.

Mina Kimes said pre-draft she has Polk going higher than people thought, even saying there was “no chance” he would make it to the 3rd round.

Wallace was picked at pick ***68***. Guys— what the fuck are we doing here? We’ve seen this many drafts but we still haven’t learned the media’s “consensus board” gets less accurate the deeper the draft goes and this is way too deep to be caring about “reaches?” It’s not even like this guy was a projected UDFA from the media, he was a projected 4th rounder ([source](https://www.nfl.com/prospects/caedan-wallace/32005741-4c42-2259-ffd8-7b5f32694b32))

This sub is entirely too negative about the draft at the moment, coming from someone that half the sub has called a pessimistic asshole multiple times.

  5. I am going on blind hope that packers are amazing at selecting WRs so Polk will be a jordie Nelson easy. This is the best time of year for a bad team. All the hope, none of the crushing reality. Gotta have hope!

  6. I wanted them to draft a qb wr and lt and they drafted them in that order and added an extra 4th for a 5th along the way.

I liked polk and a respected guy – Matt Harmon from reception perception- thinks he has puka upside.  I didn’t like Mitchell or Coleman as much.  Mitchell seems like an athlete who needs to improve at being a receiver.  Keon seems like he was just better than the college players he was up against.  I’ve seen both profiles before and it doesn’t always work out for them.  Polk looks like an nfl caliber wr2.  They still don’t have an nfl caliber wr1 but they have a bunch of wr3s.  This is an upgrade and hopefully enough of one that maye can learn to succeed.

  7. They should have just taken Ladd (or Mitchell). They always overthink it and try to get cute and it NEVER pays off. This team literally has NEVER drafted a talented WR with a high draft pick. This team has always been wrong WR. Frustration is a reasonable reaction.

  8. I hope the first thing these guys get is someone reminding them that the support they will get here is ridiculously positive and powerful.  Someone to tell them to never read a thing on social media.

Because if they go online to the communities, they’ll hate it before they even start.

  9. You’re getting reactions from a region of the country that maybe watches one college football game every year.

  10. If your happiness is contingent on matching opinions of the Reddit user base, then you’re gonna be sad pretty damn often. One of the few times you’ll hear this without malice: but go touch grass. There’s no one in here that should have you this worked up.

  11. I don’t understand how people have any expectations for this team. I suspect we will be trash and I’m just along for the ride this year

Be fucking for real, how much do you actually know about the 100th pick in the NFL draft? Or the 50th pick, or even the 25th? It’s mostly regurgitated bullshit from the same talking heads everyone complains about for the rest of the year.

It happens with all fan bases but got damn this sub is so annoying. I was busy yesterday and only saw a bit of what was happening in here, yet most was bitching.

We have been talking about needing basically a whole new offense and we have complained every year Bill trades back to draft some DBs and long snappers. Now we take the 3 positions we need most in 3 straight rounds, so quit being insufferable bitches. Almost no one commenting here knows anything about a 3rd round OT

  13. I’m all for disagreements, not everyone will like the same players, but it’s hard not to think these type of places skew younger and their fandom was raised on felger and mazz type brain rot. Even when you get what you’ve been screaming for, you can always find fault in it and that’s all you focus on

  14. 3 players that we needed and our new scouting operation probably really liked, “NO WAIT NOT THOSE GUYS I WANT THREE DIFFERENT GUYS IN WHICH I WONT CARE TO NAME BUT WILL STILL BE OVERLY EMOTIONAL ABOUT!!!!”

  15. Man, there are no words to describe how much I don’t care. We drafted our QB. After that, all is gravy to me.

Also, getting people that can play is a massively underappreciated ability. Let’s hope that both the WR and OL we got can be starters, and that we go for boom or bust in the next rounds.

  16. I thought most people were civil, I liked Mitchel over Polk but I also don’t dislike the Polk pick. We needed a WR and they picked the one they liked hopefully it works out.

I like the picks we got QB, WR, OL. All of which we needed. People are going to be upset that they didn’t get “the guy” they wanted and it’s fine to discuss that but we should be happy that they are picking what we need.

  17. You’re reacting to a loud but small subgroup of fans. They drafted offense, which they needed. Everyone will have opinions on it (for me, Polk is slow so hopefully the hands are what they say and Wallace not being polished at age 24 is a bit concerning) and that doesn’t mean me or anyone else is flat out against the picks.

  18. I like Polk and his tape looks like hes gonna be pretty good…i just think we need an x reciever our issue is we have an abundance of ys but no x

  19. The way people take the draft so serious is concerning. People have serious delusions about this shit. Y’all know y’all have nothing to do with what the patriots do right? None of y’all are scouts and yalls “boards” are just your little hobby
