Um… there’s zero percent chance the fan base won’t put that expectation on him. This seems pretty odd to me.
Snyder would have paraded him around. Love this. Keeps him humble too.
I would hope they gave him a say in the matter
Snyder would have had him arriving on a horse
Or maybe the fans rushing him would take him out for the season /s
They can’t control things outside the building but they can provide a buffer for him. Love it.

Even if this isn’t true (seems far more likely he just wasn’t available), I like the creativity of the spin they’ve chosen to put on it
