  1. “above average physical traits with below average coverage skills” cool…

  2. Someone I’ve actually heard of.
    Ran a 4.34 40 at the combine.
    Decent size at 6’2 188.
    Chris Simms #5* ranked corner this year (take that with a grain of salt).

    Seems like a high potential low floor guy that’ll contribute later rather than sooner.

  3. A super athletic fast tall corner that is super raw is a perfect 4th round pick. High upside if the staff can develop him. Probably won’t have to play much early but can play special teams and sit and learn for a bit. Hope we pick up a veteran corner after this.

  4. Tall corner. Not the name I was thinking, but fits the physical profile of what I was hoping for. 6’2″. Ran a 4.34. 7 PBUs last year.

  5. Glad we’ve got a CB, finally! I’m sure that our coaches will develop him well, he’ll be good for depth at a minimum

  6. Don’t know much about Richardson, but at a glance the first thing that jumped out at me is that his athleticism score ranked 1st among CBs on NFL.com’s combine list:

    4.34 40 (1.48 10 yd split), 35″ vert, 10’8″ broad.

    Good length too at 6’2″ and 32.38″ arms

    He and Jakorian Bennett can really move, the question is can one of them step up and start this year?

  7. Solid pick. Not a lot of ball production in college, but he checks a lot of boxes you want in an outside corner and will pair nicely with Jack Jones.

  8. Richardson seemed to appeal to us because of his athleticism and length. I thought it was gonna be Tampa, though.

  9. Has ideal size and great speed.. also a good tackler.. will earn his stripes on special teams and we’ll hope he can develop into a cover cb in the future

  10. The thing that stands out to me is 0 INT in college. Hope he develops into a good player though.

  11. Hell yeah, I was hoping we would draft this guy. Not a Nickel but definitely can sit outside and run with most WR. Will he start this year?? Prolly not but in a year or two he can be a stud for us. Now let’s sign Gilmore and our secondary isn’t looking too bad.

  12. Fast, pretty good in run support… seeing a lot of “below-average coverage skills” comments, but PFF had him at like an 86 there? I’m cool with it, even if TJ Tampa and Caelen Carson were on the board (wonder what came out about Tampa during the scouting process, he’s DROPPING).

  13. LFG! Wanted TJ but Richardson is great too. Fucking killing it! Everyone has fell right into our lap and all positions of need.

    I wonder why TJ falling so far?

  14. Atheltic and Raw as hell.

    Don’t mind gambling on an athlete on day 3.  Good addition to the CB room.

  15. From CBS, who graded the pick A-

    Grade Analysis:
    Long, sleek burner who will make plays on the football when he trusts his eyes. Lacks physicality at times and that hurts him when attempting to stop the run although when he gets to the football, he’s a very sure tackler. Smooth athlete in off-man and zone. This secondary needed this type of CB specimen. (Chris Trapasso)

    Rating: 73.87 (Part-time contributor)

    Pro Comparison: Zyon McCollum

    Summary:
    Decamerion Richardson is a long boundary cornerback who does a good job of shedding blocks and flashing downhill in run support. He had zero interceptions in his collegiate career and can do a better job of getting his eyes back to the ball in man coverage. Richardson does a good job getting ball-carriers to the ground but is known to get twisted around at the route stem.

    About:
    2023: Led team with 7 PBU;
    2022-23: Led all SEC CBs in tackles in each of past 2 seasons.

    Strengths:
    Good job shedding blocks and flashing downhill in run support.
    Good speed to carry routes up the boundary
    5.8% missed tackle rate in 2023, per TruMedia.

    Weaknesses:
    Can do a better job of gettting eyes back to the ball in man coverage.
    Zero interceptions in his collegaite career
    Known to get twisted at the route stem.

    Combine Data
    40-yard dash: 4.34 seconds;
    Vertical jump: 35 inches;
    Broad jump: 10 feet, 8 inches.

  16. This pick screams cover four boundary corner. He won’t need to move sideline to sideline, he won’t need to process a ton of flat routes, he’s just a boundary corner. And I think that’s great! We needed that. Hobbs can stay inside, Bennett too.

  17. Any insight as to why TJ Tampa fell deep into the 4th round? Ravens grabbed him & they tend to draft well considering the past two decades
