Round 5: Just TWO Rounds left to go! | 2024 NFL Draft

making their selection we got a corner
here uh that’s heading to the Seahawks I
like this pick for Seattle kind of an
old school throwback Seattle cover three
type corner but he can get in your face
and press neemi pitch’s got good size 6
foot he’s 190 lbs he’s got link to him
he’s willing against uh against the run
so he’ll come up and support the run and
the other thing that stands out is I
didn’t see I wasn’t sure about this on
tape he’s a 43640 player and you see him
right there striding with Malik
neighbors making the play I think when
the ball goes down field he’s got to
play with a little bit uh better vision
and get the head around a little quicker
and he is a player I think that you
don’t want to have him due to a lot of
mirror and match out of uh Offman
coverage so with the 137th pick in a
2024 NFL draft the Los Angeles Chargers
select tarhe still defensive back
Maryland tarhe still from Maryland
Maryland’s done a good job of cranking
out some defensive back over the last 5
years in the in the draft and this is
the next man up Still’s got pretty good
size he’s got pretty good speed I think
with tarhe still one of the things that
you look for in terms of uh strength
something that he really wants to hang
his hat on as a fifth round pick is he’s
going to be a player who can can get
after the get after the football when
it’s near the catch point and he also
has inside outside flexibility so now in
the fifth round you’re taking a player
who can play a little outside for you if
you need him outside he can play in the
nickel he gives you a chance uh from a
flexibility roster flexibility
standpoint to if if you want to start
him at the the nickel you have him as a
backup inside slot he also has outside
positioning as well roster flexibility
so um I I think he’s kind of an average
Prospect in terms of having the chance
to become a future starter but what
stands out about still is he gives you
flexibility from a scheme standpoint on
the back end with the 138th pick in the
2024 NFL draft
the Arizona Cardinal select Xavier
Thomas linebacker
Clemson Xavier Thomas from Clemson um
you know he’s somebody that when you
watch he was he was a festar recruit
when he came in a little bit up and down
the testing numbers were okay but he’s
got a lot of experience he is one of
those six-year seniors he’s played six
years as a five-star recruit at Clemson
he’s an edge Defender who is very
tenacious he is very motor driven he’s
got good first step quickness and he
gets to the top of the rush and can win
with the two-and swipe that’s kind of
one of the areas that he really attacks
the pocket I think from in terms of
stopping the Run that’s going to be a
little bit of an issue I talked to a
team today who was trying to get a feel
for where he could go cuz they were
hoping that they could find him in the
fifth round and uh that team was not the
Arizona Cardinals but so unfortunately
they’re not going to be very happy but
it was a team to play some 3 four and
that’s what Arizona you know they needed
an edge Defender they they get an edge
Defender I think he is a rotational pass
rusher with a chance to become a little
bit more than a rotational pass rusher
because he’s he’s been on the rise but
it’s been a six-year journey and
sometimes you play your best football
after six years that’s just the way it
goes with the 139th pick in the 2024 NFL
draft the Washington Commander select
Jordan McGee linebacker
Temple Jordan McGee
and I like Jordan McGee I gave him a 6.0
which is a separator between a backup
grade and a potential uh and a very good
backup to maybe even eventual starter I
think the only thing that bothers me a
little bit he’s about 228 lbs it’s only
the size everything else I like 45540
he’s got explosive leaps he’s got good
short area quickness um very very
aggressive the play demeanor is exactly
the way you want it he is going to get
after you and he is going to attack you
and that’s kind of something that we’ve
seen from Temple the temple tough stuff
is a is a very real thing he’s got good
strong base for a size so he can handle
um he can handle contact with good
balance he is a little small like I said
but I love the mentality I think he’s
wired the way you want your linebackers
to be wired and there’s no question we
talk about special teams now we’re
getting into a guy okay he is going to
be a core special teamer for you he’s
got the speed to get down the field make
tackles he’s got the mentality for it I
like this selection because he offers
that initial nod to special special
teams and toughness FedEx we just
watched the Chargers draft the corner
cam Hart out of Notre Dame former wide
receiver former wide receiver and you
know the the interesting thing about his
tape is reonardo green who went in the
second round from Florida State his best
game was against mik neighbors cam
Hart’s best game was against Marvin
Harrison Jr and that’s pretty good I the
problem you have is that it’s a little
inconsistent you want it to be more
consistent against better competition I
do think he allowed too much space in
man coverage so that’s something that
can be coached up and changed because
Cynthia when you’re a big player with
good athleticism I mean you can take and
and decent speed you can take more
chances in terms of crowding routes as
opposed to playing all the way off yeah
so my note is that his Transitions and
when he moves from like when his hips
have to move in like 180 degrees meaning
he’s got to move open face he gets a
little bit more he slows down a little
bit more rapidly than some of the other
guys in this class so you’re going to
have to figure out okay where can we
position him so that this will not be a
factor so this can minimize what happens
against that but it’s again for fifth
round pick this is a really nice upside
pick the great great legs with the 141st
pick in the 2024 NFL draft the Buffalo
Bills select Cedric van pran Ranger
Center
Georgia so Buffalo gets tough in the
middle uh Cedric vanran is a an
offensive lineman a lot of people
thought was going to be be a day two
offensive Center going into the 2023
season I think he his play was was kind
of average at times when I watched him
but Cedric vanran comes from an
offensive unit that is very they’re
driven by physicality and by any means
necessary mentality I think that’s great
in college the techniques got to get a
little bit better for Cedric vanran but
from a mentality standpoint he’s got the
NFL wire with the 142nd pick in the 2024
NFL draft the Indianapolis coach select
Anthony gold wide receiver Oregon
State Anthony gold is one of my you know
you you develop favorites at positions
one of my favorite wide receivers in
this draft is Anthony gold I had him go
on the fourth or fifth round is where I
projected him to go but my grade is more
of a third round grade on him he is for
being an undersized player he he really
plays like he’s 6 foot he plays like
he’s 6′ 195 lbs he is Fe
out in space he has good separation good
speed as you can see here he’s also a
punt returner the Colts drafted Josh
down so you already have somebody in
Josh DS who plays a similar position as
Anthony gold but because gold has great
speed you could get away on from time to
times with smaller uh with with smaller
wide receivers and what’s interesting is
while ad you just added um ad Mitchell
right in the second round but I can see
a scenario where gold has has a
maybe a higher amount of catches than
than ad Mitchell does in his rookie
season because I think Mitchell will be
brought along slower where gold is much
more polished right now coming into the
league hello good abent my name is Kaka
for my Striker from German national team
and for f Bay stutgart we are here at
the F Bay stutgart Stadium and next to
me is Tiffany from the Falcons flag team
stutgart to announce the pick with the
143rd pick in the 2024 NFL draft the
Atlanta Falcon select JD band linebacker
not
Dame London’s got their hands full with
Germany now in terms of the the second
home for the NFL Germany is all over
this draft JD Bertrand for me I think
this is really more of a special teams
uh type player he doesn’t have great
range sideline to sideline from a speed
standpoint he is a three-year starter
he’s a two-time team captain he’s
somebody who loves ball he is going to
be in that he’s going to be an early in
laid out type of player I think the
physical limitations are something that
will maybe limit him as an NFL uh player
but in terms of the the football
character is very very high and once
again he can be a backup with the good
mentality and then can play on special
teams as well I think that’s what the
Atlanta Falcons are getting here with
this pick the buffalo bills have traded
the 144th pick to the Chicago
Bears with the 144th pick in the 224
2024 NFL draft the Chicago Bears select
Austin Booker defensive end
Kansas so Austin Booker is I’ve got a
second round grade on him and at one
point I thought he had first round
potential um it’s just he’s just not
going to be a big player he’s long he’s
kind of the streaming look there’s
questions about how much more weight can
he add he’s maybe going to be 250 lbs
but I’ll tell you what this game right
here against Texas was hugely eye open
to me he’s only he’s got less than 600
total snaps of Football in college less
than 600 I cannot explain to you how
little experience he has just one year
as a football player he transferred from
M from Minnesota where he barely played
at all and then he got about 500 snaps
at at uh at Kansas but as a rusher he’s
got real potential knows how to use his
length and I think the upside on him is
is substantial I think Ryan poles has
pulled off two of the steals of the
draft with a tackle from Yale and now
with Austin Booker the Denver Broncos in
round number five pick 145 going with
the missou corner somewhere Chase Daniel
is absolutely smiling losing his mind
yes should be Chris Abram dra is really
good football player I think uh he’s
more polished than inis rraw who went
before him the real problem you have
here is that um he’s less than 180 lbs
and that’s still a big problem he is a
very slender cornerback we saw that
Emanuel Forbes who had insane ball
production was a first round pick but at
166 lbs got bullied around a little bit
this year so I think the Slender thinner
cornerbacks will maybe hurt a little bit
by by you know forbes’s struggles last
year but when you watch tape man I think
Chris Abrams drain is just really a very
professional cornerback and if he can
hold up I think he has a chance to
become a cornerback three somebody who
can step in and get your starting
starting snaps in the future I like what
Missouri’s doing I think Missouri’s
really cranking out football players
they’re doing a nice job of Eli
drinkwitz their head coach man he’s
getting some NFL Talent over there I
mean I never want to be a college coach
I think that’s the hardest job ever
between the transfer portal in nil but
that’s a for a different day but
ultimately when I look at this pick I
think they need to help him a little bit
with some anticipation work because he
seems to start a little slower so if you
look at his burst speed meaning what
happens the second after in the three
seconds after the ball is snapped to the
quarterback he just does he hesitates a
bit and that can probably be taught out
of him and this is a good situation for
him to go to with this defense to be
able to do that but that’s just one
thing that you know it stands out the
number is low and he which means he ends
up not getting quite as close to
receivers and then he has the lower body
weight which means he’s just not as big
of a bully as you would want him to be
with the 46 pick in the 2024 NFL draft
the Tennessee Titans select Jaris
brownley Jr defensive back
louville Titan
up Jarvis brownley um had a really good
Senior Bowl that was something where I I
had a lower grade on actually this is
about the grade I had on in the fifth
round and then um I moved him up to the
fourth round after I watched him play I
thought he plays with tremendous
confidence he plays with tremendous
attitude he is an aggressive press
corner he likes to stay right up under
your chin and give you the blues out of
the the uh the release so he’s going to
be very physical with his press release
I think the one thing that he needs to
you know he needs to worry about in the
next level is he takes too many losses
on the Deep routes and you see right
there I like he jumped the rout he just
ran the route for the wide receiver
there just took it completely away he is
going to look for Pathways to the
football you love that aggressiveness
the flip side of that coin though is
when you play that aggressively in the
NFL they’ll start setting you up with
double moves and you’re going to have
some problems getting beat deep and
that’s one thing that showed up on tape
sometimes is he trouble getting beat
deep but love the mentality as a press
Corner uh in Tennessee they’re going to
they’re going to like the attitude he
just has to work on the the discipline a
little bit I think the Press is right
that’s what I have for him press good
and then to me it said fit so in certain
fits he had because I can run it for
this model my crazy model I can run it
for which team he ends up with I’m not
entirely sure what we’re going to get
out of this Tennessee team this year I
think that’s fair but in teams where
they ask a lot of press he had a third
round potential in teams when they
didn’t it’s more like six so we’re kind
of in between with the 147th pick of a
2024 NFL draft the Denver Broncos select
audri EST running back Notre
Dame so day three of the draft Cynthia
has been all about this position the
running backs yeah this guy I love that
that third Point Circle that one
underline it take it home with you
because that’s what it is I don’t care
what like you got to kind of throw out
the stuff you saw at the combine because
when you track him during a game he
actually played really really well and
fast you know sometimes the you have to
go back and watch the film after the
combine and you sit there and you’re
like and was was I wrong like what
happen no absolutely not there’s a lot
of like yards after the contact per
attempt as well so Not only was he
faster than we saw him clocked but also
he was more physical than we saw as well
so you get both from this guy and that
was a good and you make a really good
point a lot of people don’t understand
because we still live in the world of 40
yard dashes teams are getting access to
GPS data from from colleges and then
some even have their own um they have
their own computer vision to create
speeds for them and so what is time
speed is so much more important than the
471 now make no mistake the 471 probably
is the reason he’s in the the fifth
round but teams get play speeds on these
players so it’s not the end of the world
with a handheld time all right Raider
Nation with the 148th pick in the 2024
NFL draft draft the Las Vegas Raiders
select Tommy ikenberg linebacker Ohio
State it just felt like and I I would
love to get your take on this it’s it’s
felt like the Raiders have done a nice
job with some some of their picks more
specifically in terms of value do we
like this one I like the value I think
so Tommy’s a tough guy I mean he’s an
Ohio State interior linebacker he’s
going to be a tough guy I just think
that you know he’s not when plays expand
to the sideline with turns into wide
flowing runs the problem he has is he’s
not going to be able to keep up with a
lot of them and it’s going to cause him
you know to not be at proper tackle
angles he’ll have a few more Miss
tackles than you like when things you
know when he’s got to deal with um open
field tackles or guys who can shake him
in the hole but in terms of just playing
good hard thud football and getting
downhill and stacking blocks and hitting
his run fits and being physical and
doing the dirty work that’s where Tommy
ikenberg stands out um he is a worker be
I I I don’t think you’re ever going to
see him really lead a defense but he’s
going to do exactly what the coach wants
him to do and he’s going to fall in line
with what what the defense asks of him
Pro he doesn’t have a fatigue level so
in the fourth quarter he runs just as
fast as the first quarter KH lateral
movement he’s not super fast with the
149th pick in the 2024 NFL draft the
Cincinnati Bengals select Josh Newton
defensive back Texas Christian
Josh Newton he is a quick-footed
cornerback um he can play you know off
the snap one thing you like out of those
nickel cornerbacks and I think he’s
going to be a nickel cornerback at 5’10
is you like guys who can handle those
route variances those release variances
you’ve got to be able to stick with
those you got to have the feet you got
to have the hips and I know there were
some teams that really loved him at his
prod day and the way that he was
operating at the at the Big 12 I know he
went out to the Big 12 day as well which
was which was something that uh you know
I think it’s a cool little feature I’m
interested to see if the other
conferences do this but when you look at
the Bengals I think the Bengals right
now are just trying to say look let’s
get some competition at every position
but when we do it let’s make sure they
have one feature we really really like
and with Josh Newton I think it’s his I
think it’s his quickness and short area
um elusive fluidity that you like
underneath as a potential nickel so you
got to have one thing that you do really
well when you get drafted in on on day
three usually that’s what team’s like
stay with me with a strategy here DJ
reader he’s now up there in Michigan
right so now you got a Michigan player
that’s a rookie that’s going to take
that middle nose tackle position and
they love to figure out how to stop the
run absolutely have to right Chris
Jenkins is there you I think I know it
says corner on you know whatever He’s
listed out on the program but I think
not only we play in the nickel he’s
going to be asked to help and run
support because what I have him on him
here is everything that’s in front of
him is a plus Run game Etc it’s the
recovery stuff where there’s the
question mark and I think if you look at
what Lu anarumo does really really well
with these young guys and bringing them
in is are you a safety is cornerish
linebacker is blob are you a blob right
or not yes I am but not Josh no but with
the 150th pick in a 2024 NFL draft the
New Orleans Saints select Spencer
Rattler quarterback South Carolina
all right it’s time for Best Value
presented by
Verizon I actually didn’t know I once
again I you just started thinking
because we were going
through who are some of these teams that
could be in play here and once again on
day one the Saints already have a
quarterback and but hey why not add a
little depth here they couldn’t move up
to grab Michael Pennock and round number
five they get the next guy available in
Spencer Rattler so Spencer Rattler he
plays faster than you know he ran a 495
40 but when you watch him on on tape
he’s got the ability to move around and
create as you see right here when
pressure comes up the a gap he can move
around he’s not going to run away from a
lot of people but he is a play extender
which is very important this is a player
who’s gone through a lot of adversity so
he uh you know was a five-star prospect
there were some people that didn’t they
have this quarterback series on Netflix
and I think you know he came off as a
little bit immature and turned some
people off he then thought he was going
to be the guy at at Oklahoma lost his
spot there at Oklahoma transferred to
South South Carolina in South Carolina
the play at times could be a little up
and down and frankly I didn’t think the
production was great but Spencer Rattler
has physical capabilities make no
mistake about it I think this is the
right round for him I know he had gotten
hot with some people in second round or
third round but really the tape said
fifth round he’s not as productive as he
needs to be but when you watch him throw
the ball the arm slots the arm angles
the way the ball comes out he’s got that
in Spades that’s not a problem for him I
think managing games is going to help
but also getting with a team that offers
him an opportunity to have a few more um
weapons at his disposal greetings to my
fan clubs in Germany and Europe the
germanis Blue
Nation the blue crew Europe and the
Indie blue crew in Indie and then with
the 150 in1 pick in the 2024 NFL drafts
Indianapolis gold select jayen Carly
linecker Missouri
Jaylen Carly’s is a long big safety
can’t teach long can’t teach length 62
and three4 227 hm that frame looks like
he’s going to be a linebacker because
that’s what the Colts are going to do
they’re going to turn him into a
linebacker so any plays you see here
down the field yeah that’s cooling off
somebody’s running a wheel route on the
next level but he is going to be doing a
lot more of that playing around the line
of scrimmage getting downhill using the
link to expand the tackle net so he can
he can reach out and get you out in
space which is what he does the Colts
took EJ speed who was a wide receiver in
college they turned him into a
linebacker and he’s a good one this is
another EJ speed pick they’re basically
taking a safety in college with length
and with speed and who is a really good
tester and they’re going to turn him
into a linebacker as well and I know
Chris Ballard and the Colts have to be
very excited to uh uh to land car’s
they’re Landing a lot of the guys that
they really coveted on their board and
Carly is one of them Missouri coming up
big again in this one it’s also
interesting to see these teams who I
believe I said West Virginia Missouri
yeah you’re right oh I whatever I um so
ultimately what I’m looking at here is
maybe this is the counter punch to some
of the punches we’ve been seeing last
season remember we saw a lot of iso and
power right that that what it would came
back in Vogue last year well now if you
have these safeties that have these big
old bodies like a linebacker you make
another EJ speed you’re in a situation
where now you have not only you know the
opportunity to stop the run but you can
leverage him in certain packages as a
defensive back too so you know what I
think if we played a drinking game where
you had to take a shot every time
someone in the draft said versatility
everyone would be like unable to even
function by now but he really is a quite
versatile player and again you know
Missouri coming up big hi I’m Charlie
posy from motep Institute Cher High
School in Philadelphia PA I am here with
the incredible stem ambassadors from
motep who some of them are our play on
our football team we are here in a crana
building water filtration systems and
prosthetic limbs using our 3D printers
and now for a special moment combining
the two continents Kenny will do the
honors with the 152nd pick in the 2024
NFL draft the Philadelphia Eagles select
and Nia Smith wide receiver from Texas
A&M
University annias Smith something you
need to know about annia Smith if you go
back and watch his 2022 tape I think
it’s better than the 23 tape he got
injured uh out for the year in 2022 with
a with a season ending injury I think he
came back and was still trying to find
that explosiveness and still trying to
find some of the athletic stuff but when
you watch him there are elements of
Christian Kirk in his game without
question he plays in the slot um he has
good change of Direction and he’s
unusually tough and Elusive with the
ball in his hands you see some of that
right here in some of these I I haven’t
even seen these highlights but it’s
really showing up because he’s got a
little whip Cynthia but he’s also got
the power so he can create with wiggle
and he can create with power after catch
as well um that’s one of the things I
really like about annias Smith is he can
turn five yards into eight yards it’s
the little things like that that can
move the chains and can add value but I
know there there were some teams really
hoping that he would he would fall to
them in the fifth round and and one of
those teams is the Eagles and uh um I
like what he brings to the table because
I do think he is a flexible option that
you can move around the field as well my
note on him is that something that
wouldn’t show up in those that highlight
reel is he blocks on when he’s not the
subject of a Target he’s a good blocking
wide receiver which really matters on a
team like the eagles greetings from all
the Jaguars fans in the United
Kingdom with the
153rd pick in the
2024 NFL draft the Jacksonville Jaguars
select DeAndre Prince defensive back
Mississippi so deontre Prince has uh
tremendous speed he’s a sub four4
cornerback has dealt with a lot of
adversity and this is something with he
uh had the tragedy of the deaths of a
cousin and a friend in a car accident um
that was just crushing to him he’s
admitted that he wasn’t the most mature
player at Old Miss he left Old Miss for
a while then came back said mat
was a real issue um went to Northeast
Mississippi Community College so this
has been a journey getting to this point
for him sometime players like that you
like it because they know what it is to
overcome adversity they know what it is
to try to you know to make a difference
after maybe disappointing early on with
the 154th pick in the 2024 NFL draft the
LA Los Angeles Ram select Brennan
Jackson defensive end Washington State
I like Brenan Jackson Brennan Jackson to
me has got a chance to become a uh an
eventual starter over there good size
plays like his hairs on fire every snap
I know uh old friend Wade Phillips would
have absolutely loved him when he was
over at the ramp so this feels like a
Wade Phillips pick too because Wade
loves guys who attack the pocket with
with a consistent motor and that’s what
Brennan Jackson has he’s also big and
physical I mean we’re talking about a
player who’s in the mid 260s and
everything you see of him I think Brenan
Jackson is going to be a much more
productive NFL player than many of the
edge Defenders that I’ve seen drafted um
I’m surprised he fell this far in one
sense because of the profile of tape but
on but nobody I talked to was really
excited about him except one team I
thought he was more like a a fourth
round Prospect he goes in the fifth but
Brennan Jackson to me fits what the Rams
have done along the edge over the last
several years you know Cynthia this is
still an organization moving on
obviously from Aaron Donald hit a home
run last year with Kobe turn obviously
on that defensive line verse Fisk and
now Jackson it seems like they’re fully
aware we got to get after the
quarterback here with some of these
selections the Indianapolis Colts have
traded the
155th pick to the Philadelphia
Eagles with the 155th pick in the 2024
NFL draft the Philadelphia Eagles select
Jeremiah trer Jr linebacker Clemson
let’s go oh oh oh I love how awesome is
that father son and he played with the
Eagles I mean this is so cool that
Jeremiah troter gets to announce his son
what I thought he was going to sweare I
was like we’re getting an F bomb here
we’re totally F
bomb wow watch the sun I got you Dad
that’s that’s pretty good I got you dad
there’s something nice you know the
pedigree obviously we’re seeing this
across the board last couple years in
the NFL draft when you see those father
son Duos the reality is you get selected
in the draft you still got to be able to
perform and play how to try or do what
does the film tell you well film tells
me he’s going to be a starter and film
tells me they just got a future starter
in the fifth round Jeremiah trer the the
only the only knock on him is speed he’s
not a very fast linebacker but he’s
instinctive he plays fast with his eyes
it makes him fast he recognizes where he
needs to go I think he’s one of the more
instinctive cornerbacks in the entire
draft he’s also um just a a menace as he
says right here watch out the hits that
he has like I guarantee you other
parents did not love this when they saw
little Trotter and of course they also
knew hey that’s that former linebacker
son that’s just laying our kids out all
over the field I mean that’s adorable
but also terrifying what I have on him
is that he actually plays a lot faster
than that than that run any of the
testing would suggest so his play speed
over indexes compared to kind of the the
straight metrics with the 156 Peak and
the 2024 NFL draft the Cleveland Browns
selects Jamari thrash wide receiver
Louisville Jamar thrash is a vertical
wide receiving threat he has the ability
to get open and to shake himself free
classic fifth round pick here in my
estimation ran a good 44 640 the testing
is fine in every area I think uh what he
makes up with speed is what he gives
away with play strength and I think you
know that’s why he needs to be in space
you need to create opportunities for him
to get away from coverage you throw with
quick throws or you give him a chance to
hit some double moves you don’t want him
in a lot of contested catch situations
because that is not where he thrives and
he gets pushed around a little bit for
being 186 pound wide receiver but he
does have speed to play on the third
level to take it down the field there’s
that little double move I just talked
about so when he’s open now if you give
him a chance to play down the field and
create openings and in separation he can
do that you just I think the one area of
concern is he he’s going to struggle at
times when bigger corners and physical
Corners decide to really match him
around the field and he’s going to have
to get a little bit tougher inside the
route I had him ranked at 115 prior to
the draft starting in in large part
because of his Yak ability and Yak is so
valuable now especially on the right
team I mean obviously the San Francisco
49ers has taught us a whole bunch of
things about that and a lot of teams
play in that same sort of vein so for me
he has has a lot like this is a really
valuable pick great upside here the
Browns haven’t had good picking
positions but they’ve made the most of
all of their picks so far and I think
these are a really nice fit picks all
across the board with the 157 pick in a
2024 NFL draft the Carolina Panther
select Charles Smith Wade defensive back
Washington State
well that that was a lot for one pick
that that was there was a lot going on
in that entire seven-minute run there it
felt like I like the front end of that
that if you were thirsty I did too you
had the beer steins and everything it
was looking good I I like what they do
here I think this cornerback is looking
good as well I think the the big concern
about CH Smith Wade is going to be the
speed when the play gets down the field
he loses speed and I think you can
attack him deep that’s one of the
reasons why he’s probably in the fifth
round but he’s a belligerent on ball
Defender he will really get after you
when he’s sticking close to the route
and once he gets locked in on what the
route is he does a nice job of mirroring
the route of of of feeling the route
keeping himself in position to make
plays it’s just the speed element and
how is he going to play When the play
goes down the field I’m looking at from
a size standpoint you know at 510 184
45440 um kind of very average short area
quickness number numbers I don’t know
Cynthia I don’t know if he’s going to be
a nickel I don’t know if they’re going
to continue to play him outside I mean
the athletic profile for quarterbacks it
does matter typically when you’re
looking at playing in the
NFL with the 158th pick in a 2024 NFL
draft the Miami Dolphins select muhamad
Kamar defensive end Colorado
State and Muhammad Kamar is physical the
speed to power the compact frame you can
see it right there and the still shot of
his arms I mean that guy lifts don’t
worry about that if you worried mikeam
about him lifting he does not skip arm
days leg days back days shoulders all
days he lifts and he’s also very
physical as a rusher he can play through
Edge redirection a lot of tackles they
want to be able to push you off of your
Rush plan and uh you can’t cuz he’s just
too strong in his lower body he is a
classic bully as a rusher a speed to
power rusher he’s not going to be really
uh a finesse rusher he’s not going to
throw a bunch of different moves at you
but Power tends to win in the NFL speed
to power tends to stick around for a
while in the NFL he my highest Red Zone
pass rusher in the whole in the whole
draft him yeah that’s the one with the
159th pick in the 2024 NFL draft the
backto back world champion Kansas City
Chiefs have
selected Hunter NORAD center for Penn
State
there’s another one that I told you
about the center position I think you
find starters in the fifth round he came
over from Cornell Hunter NORAD he can
play center or can play guard he played
tackle at Cornell but he can play center
or guard he’s got the build of a of a of
a center guard he is very physical in
the Run game I thought he did a great
job against Jan Newton who was a second
round pick he was really pushing Johnny
Newton around number six right there in
that game against Penn State um so as a
run lock ER he’s got power he’s got
strong hands boy that is that is a
really interesting pick because he can
play behind uh Creed Humphrey at Center
but he can also I think compete for a
spot at the other guard spot so you
basically got Center guard flexibility
and a physical player a tough player
that’s a good value pick in the fifth
round with the 160th pick in a 2024 NFL
draft the Buffalo Bill select ID fuan
YULA fio linebacker
Washington so I went and watched
Washington on the uh the Sugar Bowl when
they beat Texas and I was on the field
and he really stood out from from a body
type yeah H brag there I was watching my
my wife’s Longhorns get beat by Michael
pennick in the greatest game of the year
by any quarterback but when before the
game started you like to go see how
players look right you want to go see
him in person at Texas had all these
guys that this incredible body types
watched was just okay until I got to Ola
uh until I got to Ola foso and he really
stood out he is heavily muscled he is
explosive you can see him really when
off the snap he gets into player he gets
into the tackle um with with good
explosiveness he’s not quite the rusher
I think that that I want on the NFL
level I think there’s some elements of
his game that are not going to translate
as well but from a body type standpoint
this is what you want this is so uh so
Bobby bavage is the defensive
coordinator his dad was a coach Bobby
babish was the linebacker coach before
being elevated to the defensive
coordinator role this past year there’s
a likelihood that he’ll be calling plays
we don’t know how that’s all going to
net out there but this is so The Pick of
a son of a coach right this is like a
coach’s son dream right here that is why
I mean it it’s very Buffalo it makes
complete sense well listen to these
numbers Mike 39 half inch vertical 10
fo8 broad these are the numbers of some
of the best athletes that we’ve seen at
wide receiver and he ran a 456 40 so
from an athletic standpoint the profile
you just say well I mean we’re drafting
him and he’s playing special teams right
off the bat and then we’ll figure out if
we’re going to use them off ball as a
linebacker are we going to play him uh
along the edge my guess is with Buffalo
they’re just going to play him off ball
linebacker with the 161st pick in the
2024 NFL draft the Washington commanders
select Dominique Hampton defensive back
Washington another tra Prospect another
another husky here another husky another
traits Prospect uh Dominic Hampton had
one of the more impressive combines uh
from any position I thought but really
when you look at the 39in vertical leap
at a safety spot is something you don’t
see a whole lot and then a 451 he is an
explosive player with a 683 short cone
drill so let me run you through all this
the 683 three cone drill shows good
change of Direction the ability as an
open space tackler to make quick Shifty
moves that’s where you use that the 45
40 time tells you he’s got range to get
all over the field and the 39in vertical
leap is for the explosive hips getting
into tackles and leaping and making
plays like that in the air all of these
elements have certain play
characteristics that they match up with
and Dominick Hampton when you start
checking a lot of boxes on the traits
even if the tape is a little up and down
what teams say is wait we’re going to
put him in a different position or we’re
going to get him coached up because if
you have traits like this if you had
speed and explosiveness and short area
quickness a week can work with that as a
coach I have him rated in the 200s so
this one’s a little bit of a different
value than maybe some of these guys who
are rated in the 100s like we were
talking about before not necessar you’re
right though the the variability is
there like it could be good the traits
could project for greatness however
there’s just some CH like the fatigue
factor in there actually for him was
sort of the opposite so that is
something that could improve at the next
level given the NL caliber I need faue
rating I need your fatigue ratings next
year before the draft I’ll do it your
day three versus day one ratings I’ll do
it for you
anyways goo I want to give thanks huge
thanks to the aronia Cardinal for this
opportunity okay with the 162nd pick in
the 2024 NFL draft the Arizona Cardinal
select Christin Jones Taco
Texas how many offensive line picks is
this now for for Arizona we building our
we’re building our offensive line let me
tell you about I’ll tell you about them
first and we can talk about what they’ve
done so far he’s a long tackle he was he
was one of the guys I believe that Tom
Herman brought in he brought in some
good-look fourstar players had the
height weight speed length Christian
Jones is a little bit Limited in terms
of how he’s going to range in pass
protection um but he tested better than
expected he is physical getting downhill
as a blocker needs to drop the pad level
just a little a little bit but what
Chris Christian Jones does is he’s
gritty when it comes to sustaining
Blocks he’s got strong hands can hang on
a little bit longer and I think that you
know I saw some real Improvement in his
game this year so it kind of makes me
wonder if there’s room for even more
Improvement I do think there’s going to
be some limitations athletically about
certain blocks he can make but I always
get excited when I see growth at a from
a tackle position look at that I mean
look he’s he’s carrying you all the way
down the field so I like that kind of
sustain that’s a grit and attitude
movement and that’s a that’s block
finishing which we love we know that
Kyler Murray likes to dance around in in
the pocket a bit and to kind of that
little bootleg can come back and it’s
bootleg to the left what long story
short is the run plays in the extended
blocks he projects well for a team that
that uses those so he would he would be
less valuable to a team that threw the
ball really really fast like a tua right
where just quick time of release and
better for a team where there’s a little
bit more Dancy pants in the only concern
I have is I think he’s right tackle only
so he’s a little Limited in terms of
roster flexibility I almost don’t want
to talk about J
I don’t know if I want to see that or if
I don’t want to see no you you
definitely do definitely Jacob Monk Is
is a 5year starter and a and a
three-year team captain man that’s great
stuff anytime you hear about a guy who’s
been a three-year Captain it’s pretty
rare it tells you what the team’s going
to love about him he gets into the
weight room he’s known as a weight room
Warrior um he’s got that strength
against teams who want to try to bull
rush him he’s got the physical strength
I was telling Cynthia this I was looking
at the numbers he had a 1.66 10 yard
split that’s extraordinary for a 308 lb
Center that’s a really really good
quickness he sometimes doesn’t take it
two people early lets the he takes the
contact on first when you have power
like that you need to make sure that
you’re you’re using your force on the
player first and not letting him get
into you he’s a little bit of a leaner a
little bit of a Reacher the pass Pro
stuff can be a little shaky sometimes
against Athletic um athletic rushers I
think he’s got a chance I think he’s got
a chance for Green Bay to become a
starter but he’s he’s there’s some work
to do you know Cynthia we’re we’re in
this selection right now well we’re on
164 but at 163 with monk going to the
Packers they traded with the bills moved
up five spots to go and get them take me
through the philosophy here at this
stage of the draft to move up four five
spots just to Target one player I mean
at this point you’re looking to find the
people on your board some people
organize their boards different ways
some people only put the number of
players that they want and then they
make the the picks kind of trade out
into what they need which is what I
suspect is happening versus other people
who kind of using a best player
available spot position especially when
you get to these later rounds sometimes
they become a little bit more agnostic
but I think it’s targeting and being
specific about each one and that is that
is a big deal and by the way my fun stat
on Jacob monk that I just looked up this
is the best uh interior player that Josh
Jacobs will have had to run behind with
the 164th pick in the 2024 NFL draft the
Indianapolis coach select Jaylen Simpson
defensive back Auburn
so I’ve got a fourth round grade on
Jaylen Simpson you get him here late in
the fifth he is actually a really good
football player the problem I have here
is he’s 6′ 179 lbs so he’s a safety I
mean that is awfully small for a safety
now you see the ball skills here he’s
very good at playing the football he’s
long he’s got speed and athleticism and
ball skills um he’s got some bump and
run coverage that he can do so he can
play some corner I really question I I I
wonder if Chris Ballard and and the
defensive coaches are looking at Jaylen
Simpson as a cornerback because at 179
lbs he’s got 32 and 38 arm lengths
that’s really really long for a
cornerback that’s really really good and
I’m looking at the the athletic testing
a
44540 39 1/2 in vertical 111 broad jump
these are Elite testing numbers but what
what Indianapolis is willing to do is
take a position at one player and move
him to another one Jaylen Simpson has
experienced playing man-to-man coverage
uh there in the slot I wouldn’t be
shocked if you hear the Colts talk about
taking Jaylen Simpson and making him a
full-time quarterback and not just like
an inside quarterback an outside
cornerback I know he played Safety at
Auburn but he’s not really big enough to
to handle the the rigors of supporting
the run as a safety so I think maybe
this is going to be a positional shift
out to quarterback with the 165th pick
in the 2024 NFL draft the Baltimore
Ravens select Rasheen Ali running back
Marshall there’s some running back
coaches that really like Rasheen Ali and
I don’t blame him rashen Ali has been a
very uh productive player as you see
right there some of the numbers for
rashen Ali he’s got good size compact
build and that’s the first thing that
stands out is you want somebody with the
size to handle the carries 206 it’s kind
of average you like him to be a little
bit heavier but that’s that’s not bad 5
foot 511 206 and rashen Ali his his tape
is really fun to watch he’s got loose Li
he’s loose limed Runner so he can really
shake and give you that agility to
create a high number of of uh of of
missed tackles if the blocking is not
good in front of him he can create for
himself it’s something you really love
he can toggle between the patience and
the decisiveness so he can go from being
okay let me just see what opens up see
what opens up there it is bang let’s go
hit it that’s something you have to have
in the NFL as a running back you’ve got
to be decisive when the time comes when
you see it happen you got to stick it
and go vision and decison this very
important in a faster League like the
NFL just hello to all our families out
there to the Goan crew and to the
Scranton crew and with the 166th pick in
the 2024 NFL draft the New York Giants
select Tyrone Tracy running back
Purdue go
Giants I love this pick Tyrone Tracy uh
to me has I thought he was the fifth
best running back in the draft yeah I
like him a lot spicy yeah spicy but
here’s the problem he’s 25 years old so
he’s a little bit older so he’s an old
man he can rent a car he can oh no he
can rent a car for sure rent a car heent
a car get himself there if he doesn’t
play you don’t want him to drive you
don’t want him to drive the car like he
runs because if so it’s going to come
back dented beat up because he is
physical he’s a former wide receiver who
moved a running back he’s got one year
fulltime under his belt at running back
and I’m going to tell you what it’s good
the tape on him you can see he’s got
very loose oily hips when he runs and
what that allows you to do is make cuts
at sharper angles once he gets in
between the tackles he’s physical after
contact he’s got very good um um contact
there he is at Iowa where he came over
from Iowa but he’s got the ability to
run through contact and so he’s got a
wide receiver background he is physical
through contact he’s got the agility to
make guys miss um and he’s a good like
he’s a good pass catcher out of the back
field I thought at the combine he looked
really really good in all the routes
they ask him to run I think Tyron Tracy
is a tremendous tremendous value here
for the Giants he’ll be a number two
running back for them before you know it
he can play all three downs and if he
wasn’t 25 years old I really have to
wonder if he’s 22 years old if this is a
player is maybe going inside the first
three rounds cuz the tape is good enough
to go inside the first three rounds with
the 167th pick in the 2024 NFL draft the
Jacksonville Jaguars select Kon Robinson
running back Texas
sneaky pick Jacksonville I see you
trying to sneak around and go grab one
of the fastest uh running backs that
you’re going to find in this draft at
least play speed he plays very fast Ken
Robinson is just not talked about enough
just watch this highlight real tape Mike
and why don’t you give me an evaluation
of what you see as you watch it uh oh I
see a hole that’s quite large yeah that
helps that that will absolutely help I
can’t help but wonder when when you got
a guy like Jonathan Brooks also on that
roster how that changes your your
perception but uh clearly a little bit
of a playmaker here he is he stays low
you see low pad level very smooth in
terms of his acceleration he’s got the
good agility left and right he’s got
some uh return ability look at that last
stat you saw kick return touchdown every
other year we’re like who cares so what
you’re not getting a kick return now
it’s really big and this is probably
going to be the kick return touchdown
you see him navigate just like a a
running back is going to do between the
tackles and then once he gets going he
is going to be gone Ken Robinson sneaky
sneak pick by Jacksonville because he’s
got instant kick return potential for
you but he can also play out of the back
field as a change of pace back and then
a receiving option just a little on the
shorter side for me so yeah he is he’s
not the the tallest guy but I I think or
the biggest right I like I like their
analytics team there at the Jags so I do
believe that there’s probably things
that we aren’t even thinking that
they’ll do with him that they’re trying
to solve for hello
Detroit we are so excited to be
here my name is Paro I’m with the Ralph
C Wilson Jr foundation and we are so
happy to lift up Youth Sports and of
course to do the Bills pick so here we
go bills Mafia all right here we go you
got with the 168 pick in the 2024 NFL
draft the Buffalo Bill selected Javon
San defens
defens defensive and
Troy let her talk she’s trying to tell
you Javon Solomon out of Troy is the
pick of the Buffalo Bills stop cutting
in on her cuz what she could have told
you is he’s built like a he’s built like
a brick a brick house house that’s right
uhuh I just keep it Detroit you knew
where I was going you’re from exactly
but I can tell you one thing very
powerful hips powerful at the point of
attack compact he’s on the shorter side
doesn’t have great length is not a
prototypical edge defender in terms of
being able to set the edge but what he
is is he can string moves together he’s
very powerful when he gets into the
tackle he’s got a low center of gravity
and a compact sturdy base so when you
try to sustain blocks against him he can
just kind of roll you right off he works
around you he’s always around the
football he was uh tremendously
productive at Troy I like this player I
don’t know exactly how Buffalo is going
to use him I mean he’s a little on the
short side whenever you’re playing him
on the edge but I just think they say
well he may not have the prototypical
height weight length that we look for
but we just think he’s a good football
player we’ll take him in a fifth with
the 169th pick in the 2024 NFL draft the
Green Bay Packers select Katan olao
defensive back Oregon
State watching oladapo I saw jisi all
over again from when I studied him uh
back in I don’t know we’re probably
about 17 if I remember correctly when 16
maybe even 15 it was it was a little
while back when he got drafted but I saw
the same type of player really good size
at six now this is the way safeties used
to be built 62 216 they’re not as big
anymore he’s got good length he’s got
very average speed he’s got very average
athleticism but he’s extremely physical
I think he would have been a fourth
round pick except for the fact that he
has an injury right now he had a surgery
so um he I was told to drop him into the
fifth and sixth as a projection and
that’s where he ends up but he’s got the
type of size that you love as a downhill
hitter uh in a split safety approach for
teams who like to play on the back end
uh two safeties this is now a second
safety they’ drafted Cynthia so
basically now they’re saying we’re we’re
going to reup we’re going to reload the
cupboard in the second second by the way
second safety to third so far in this
draft with the 170th pick of the 2024
NFL draft the New Orleans Saints select
bub means wide receiver
Pittsburgh who that it’s a tough name
with a tough game Bub N at 6’1 212 lbs
runs in the low four fours he’s made for
West Coast offenses so if you want to
throw the ball to him on the Run he can
expand uh your C he can expand the the
the catch and the run after catch and
add yards to it most importantly you
know he’s really tough when the ball
goes up I think this is a sneaky good
pick here in the fifth round because
height weight speed in the fifth is a
nice get perfect height weight and speed
the the only thing that kind of flags
for me on this one is you can’t when he
has to change directions the speed
erodes more than most so it’s not a it’s
it’s not like sheer speed all the time
what differentiates him is the when
you’re changing directions like you have
to do on certain routes he doesn’t have
the full speed on all the routes in the
route
tree yeah if I’m a Saints fan I’m kind
of happy right now yeah you’re really
happy with the 17 first pick in a 2024
NFL draft the New York Jets select
Jordan Travis quarterback Florida
State Jordan Travis the selection I
don’t know how Aaron Rogers might be
feeling about this but here’s the point
I do th this guy can absolutely sling it
yeah he can definitely sling it and he’s
also pretty safe he doesn’t he takes
care of it as well you asked me during
the break a really good question
question about like how Spencer Rattler
compares to Jordan Travis Jordan Travis
is the girl that you marry Spencer
Rattler is the girl that you date
there’s just a lot of upside more Hots
and colds you know that relationship
before you find the one that you’re
going to marry to me that’s how that’s
my analogy for it uh I do I I like that
I don’t know where to go with it but I
know exactly what you’re referring to
ACC Player of the Year offensive player
of the year at that conference obviously
some issues when he goes down we were
talking about his draft stock even a
year
go that is being said with the 172 pick
in the 2024 NFL draft the Philadelphia
ego select Trevor kigan guard
Michigan
go man they’re hyped today another
Michigan player so what’s the number do
we have a a current number for Michigan
players now for the Wolverines um
there’s a host here at NFL Network
that’s probably jumping up and down this
is eight it feels like 18 after the
first couple days it does it does you be
like a resident Washington guy since you
like cover the oh yeah yeah n they’re
they’re at nine so they’re currently
topping Michigan Huskies are slightly
ahead of wolverines didn’t Oregon have
nine in the second in the fourth round I
think it felt like here’s Trevor Keegan
um classic Michigan man he is going to
be uh physical and tough at the point of
attack usually they’re a little bit at
times Limited in terms of they they do a
lot of inside Zone some outside Zone a
lot of Duo and double teams so what they
like to do is just play right downhill
on you and so Trevor Keegan is going to
go into uh Philadelphia Philadelphia can
can expand kind of the the ask for the
offensive lineman so it’ll be
interesting to see how Keegan does but
he’s a classic tough guy he is going to
get down the pad level down and drive
you and I mean I there’s not a lot I can
say other than he plays like a Michigan
offensive lineman um part of that is the
wide base like you know bigger bum and
low keeping it low call Bubbles
bubbles yeah or bum if you are making
the call in England yeah I’m polite
we’re making the pick in England a lot
of English folk here watching but
ultimately he has that low level which
means he’s a candidate to be a very good
leverage tush push kind of
guy with the 173rd pick in the 2024 NFL
draft the New York J E TS Jets jet Jets
select Isaiah Davis back sh the
quarter jack rabbit in the house who
also LED FCS playing rushing yards over
1,500 of them and 18 rushing touchdowns
I’ll take that type of production yeah
I’ve got a I’ve got a grade on him that
was borderline fourth round I think
Isaiah Davis you see that he’s got some
nasty to him he can score um he’s not
the fastest running back he’s a 4574 you
see right here like he doesn’t look like
a pull away Runner and he’s not so what
he’s got to be is a consistent Runner
between the tackles he’s got to have
good vision and it just so happens that
he has some of those elements to his
game I thought when I first watched him
he had some Jordan Howard elements you
remember him Chicago Bear came from
Indiana he was a second round pick
watching him run he reminded me a little
bit of Jordan Howard and I made the cies
very heavy pads to break tackles so he’s
physical in that area if you want to
look at the size I mean 6′ 218 that’s
prototypical for bcal running back so
good six round uh selection they’re also
stacking up on running backs if I
remember correctly this is now the
second running back they’ve drafted
today right uh yes I can pull it up I
know it is the 12th today and the 16th
overall and I’m just sort of thinking
out loud here because Dallas is on on
the clock and the Cowboys there was a
lot of speculation that they could be
looking well actually I’m going to play
running back for them news flash uh but
the the Jets are following a really good
analytic sort of style Playbook meaning
you should take a couple at the same
position especially in running backs a
little bit later and I would say you
should probably always draft a
quarterback as well so they’re dra a
pretty good like strategy Playbook who’s
the other running back there uh brillan
Allen uh in the fourth round so earlier
today uh the kid out of Wisconsin then
Travis now Davis so oh so they got comp
they’re just saying we’re going to have
a competitive room roll it out and let’s
see how it all plays out hi and welcome
to Mexico City the international home of
the Dallas Cowboys my name is Enrique
Bak longtime broadcaster of the NFL in
Mexico and also longtime fan of the
Cowboys so I want to thank the Cowboys
Organization for this great great
opportunity with the 174th pick in the
2024 NFL
draft the Dallas Cowboy select kayn
Carson defensive back Wake
Forest Wake for so he has had some
injuries in his background that’s that’s
one of the things that you know hasn’t
always been a full-time starter during
his career but I thought he had a really
good season this year and I actually
gave him a starting grade I thought he
was more like a late third uh type of
cornerback he is has adequate NFL size
and play strength um he’s got smooth
start and stop footwork with which you
need to be able to match rout so I think
he is somebody who can stay in phase on
those vertical routes he can maneuver
around the different rub routes you see
around the goal line so he sees them
he’s very aware of his uh things around
him pass breakup numbers were pretty
good he did Miss extensive time in 2021
and 2022 due to injuries so that is a
concern you never know how the medical
Flags check out there I think from a
plant and go acceleration standpoint to
go break on the football it’s just very
average but I thought from a recognition
standpoint anticipation standpoint and
then the way he plays the football I
think Kaylin Carson to me I thought had
you know borderline starting numbers and
and ability on number five knocking on
the door of the sixth round of the draft
the Saints just a few moments ago how
about Jaylen
Ford University of Texas linebacker
Jaylen Ford goes here and and uh good
spot for him I think you’re going to see
him immediately play special teams he is
willing to jump in there and do the
Dirty Work spill uh the runs wide and
that’s not sexy to go on and take on a
block knowing that you’re the one who’s
trying to muddy it up in the middle and
make running backs bounce out that’s a
team element but he’s a team player
which is one of the things I really like
I thought he really improved his his Pad
level and technique as a tackle finisher
in 2023 many fewer Miss tackles in 2023
and that’s what you’re looking for you
want guys to improve on weaknesses from
year to year he showed some of those
improvements I think the instincts are
very average the field awareness needs
to get better but uh with Jaylen Ford
steps into a role as a special teams
player and a backup linebacker pretty
quickly for the Saints with this 176th
pick in the in the 2024 draft the New
York Jets select Quant Stinger defensive
back so quantz stigers boy this is a fun
fun story here an interesting story Mike
he was I’ll let you tell some of the
background if you want I I get the
feeling looking at your face I think you
know I no I’m just smiling because I was
ready to cheer Mason before he said he
was from Detroit and that’s when the
fans got behind it but I you mentioned
background the one thing that start of
standing out Canadian football league’s
most outstanding rookie this past season
so a little bit of a dude who’s got some
some Pro so he went to Lane College he
enrolled there and his dad passed away
and he he he left uh passed away after a
a severe car accident that uh he passed
away from he left he was despondent
didn’t play any football in 2021 um in
2022 he was in the controlled Football
League you remember the fans decided
they were going to pick what plays you
ran he was in that one he was the
youngest player then he played in the
Canadian Football League so I mean this
guy has been in every type of football
you can imagine but when I turn the tape
on well the first thing that made him
stand out was in the east west shrine
game he had really good East West
practices he tackled well he’s
physically tough he’s tough I think he’s
going to slide over to the safety role
uh in the NFL but his Toronto tape was
really good this is he’s going to be a
make it player here as the last pick of
the fifth round
