Nylander to Marner: stop fucking crying bro… this isn’t fucking juniors”

  1. I knew the crowd was quiet tonight but I thought I’d at least be able to hear audio of the guys talking in this clip

  2. He’s right though. Mitch was crying like a little bitch tonight. This isn’t junior league OHL where you can dangle all you want. It’s the playoffs and it’s tough and you have to grind. Mitch doesn’t have it in him and he acts like a child when it doesn’t go his way.

  3. Fuck I hate Marner. I hated him since he signed that ridiculous contract and had to learn and listen to his idiot father’s antics. I’m tired of watching this guy suck during every year of playoffs he’s been in. Oh he has secondary assists, who gives a fuck. Please don’t re-sign him, it’s not like you’re losing him for nothing, yes he’s great in the regular season but during his injury we saw the team is just as good without him, he’s a virus for the team dynamics with his crying and whining and his 12 million he’s going to be requesting can do so much for this team

  4. Haha oh boy, we have so far to go. Words of wisdom coming from Nylander for God’s sake

  5. Looks more like “Instead of fucking crying about it, just fucking—.” Thought it might be “shoot it” or something but the clip cuts just a fraction too early to get the full sentence. Doesn’t look like “juniors” to me though.

  6. “You’re my brother? You’d go to the wall for me? Then you can call me a useless fucking cunt along the way.” – Shoresy

This is a prime example of that mentality. It’s a chewing out that comes from a place of love.

  7. Marner is so done as a Leaf and everybody knows it. He, Samsonov, Reaves and Keefe can take the same flight out of town.

  8. Nylander unironically deserves an A. The guy never complains, never minds being held responsible and usually gets the short end of the stick when it comes to deployments. Last year he was tasked with elevating Sam Lafferty and Noah Accari’s line in the Florida series and managed to outscore Marner, Tavares and Matthews. He was getting 2nd powerplay unit duties for years until Keef finally put him on PP1 a few years ago. Represents this city really well too. Takes criticism unfair and fair on the chin but never lets it bother him. Matthews is the better player but Nylander I think identifies with Toronto a lot more as a city than any one else on the team.

Doesn’t miss games either so you know whatever he had to miss playoff games had to be serious.

Edit: THAT SAID, I think his contract is going to age pretty badly. Treliving walked away from negotiations in the summer when he was aksing for $10-10.5 and re-opened negotiations in the winter when he was scoring at a 120 point pace.

  9. Without marner on the team and Tavares ostensibly with a much cheaper team friendly deal, you have a ton of cap space to fill out your roster with a guy like Guentzal, who I think would be a superior fit on the current iteration of this roster
