it’s clear he’s a streaky player and can hit in his hot streaks. he has always always had terrible streaks that make us want to cringe, but yet his averages play out to 220 and some slugging, which means that he has to be going on tears to average out his terrible streaks. sometimes having someone who can do that even if they are terrible all the rest of the time can win you a world series. jbj, kike, plenty of other examples. bad but streaky hitters still can turn into albert pujols once in a while and cora is the kind of guy i trust to get it out of him in the right place.
