Passan: MLB to address uniform fiasco

Unfortunately, the fix won't be done until start of next year. The MLBPA, in a memo also cited in the piece, says Nike is really the one to blame, not Fanatics.

If I'm some team, I'm wondering if I got unis left over from last year, and since MLB has said they're ditching this year's problematic ones anyway, just beat them to the rush, at least while supplies last.

  1. MLB is absolutely right.

Nike’s got their logos on this dogshit. It’s their mess. Doesn’t matter what Fanatics does. It’s Nike’s reputation here.

I can’t understand why Nike hasn’t been more vocal about all of this. Maybe they have, and I’m just not tuned into it. But if I was John Donahoe, I would have rectified this problem during Spring Training.

Honestly, Nike’s board of directors should fire that dude for even allowing their name to be drug through the mud for so long with all of this.

I also don’t understand why MLBPA isn’t signing off on uniform changes prior to them being made. The players should 100% have a say in what they’re wearing every day.

  2. Wonder how Fanatics feels about Nike using them as a PR meat shield in all this

    Unrelated but fuck Fanatics
