Jared Sandler: Earlier today MLB Central through up this graphic comparing Julio Rodriguez’s first 27 games to Wyatt Langford’s. Pretty interesting. Both guys got raw ump treatment. Langford still leads MLB with 23 called strikes on pitches out of the zone.

  1. [This LSB post had some interesting Langford tidbits](https://www.lonestarball.com/2024/4/29/24144363/a-few-notes-on-the-rangers-offense)

Tl;Dr for Wyatt: his walk rate l, K-rate, chase rate, etc. Seem normal, he doesn’t seem to be overwhelmed, but notably his O-swing% and O-contact% is pretty high. Swinging out of the zone means you’re not getting the best contact on balls out of the zone, which means more soft hits and grounders, less elevation. Why does he swing out of the zone more than average? How many close calls he gets rung up on certainly does not help…

  2. When watching the games, it’s just incredibly easy to see why everyone was/is so high on Langford. He just has superstar written all over him.
