I honestly think the leafy thing to do would be to drag it out and blow it in OT of game 7. Sorry, I’m being flip and unhelpful, I know.

Calling it now, Matthews misses game 5 + 6 only to come back game 7 and play well but the rest of the team comes out flat. Just to cause maximum heartbreak and confusion.
Can this really just be food poisoning at this point? Does food poisoning last this long?
Downvote me all you want but the best player on this team shouldn’t be missing the most important game of the season due to food poising. I don’t care if you can only take one shift and end up shitting your pants, you go out there with your teammates. Even if he had to leave the game, the whole team would be fired up he played still. Now if he misses this game, this team is gonna come out flat and sulking knowing they have to get it done without their best player.
Hear me out, next year if we make the playoffs, the team eats together and meals are cooked by team chef.
Man this series really risks us going out on a whimper. From Willy missing 3 games to Matthews nor being 100%, to our piss poor effort in several games. Just a very underwhelming playoff all around for the team.
The absolute most leafy thing would be for him to miss games 5 and 6, then come back and score 3 in game 7 to put the leafs up 4-1 against the bruins in the third. And we all know how that ends.
